Emerald Surf Villa 1B, " Beachin' " occupies the entire first floor of a three-floor building, giving it a "house-like" feel, with no neighbors on either side. It has windows all around, providing beautiful views of the Sugar Sand Beaches of the Gulf of Mexico. The living room is luxuriously furnished and beautifully upgraded and opens directly onto a wide, covered balcony with stunning beach views. The well-appointed kitchen features granite counter-tops and stainless steel appliances. We were not aware that the unit above us would be under construction during our Spring Break 7 night stay. The contractors were very rude and EXTREMELY LOUD beginning at 7-8 am. Our water was turned off from 10am- 1pm one day due to construction. When their dumpster was full, they began throwing the construction debris including foam insulation, doors and large boards off the balcony. Luckily, it was only foam insulation that almost hit a neighboring girl in the head as she was walking to the beach. They continually took up multiple parking spots and blocked in our car multiple days. Sarah with itrip offered us a refund to leave or a very MINIMAL discount, but not another unit to relocate us. While looking for an alternate place to stay, I realized renters from 2 weeks prior had left our unit for the same reason. Even with these renters leaving, itrip could never explain why they didn’t notify us of the construction and offer us another place prior to arrival, except to say construction should have been completed March 1 and we booked in January. They actually seemed baffled at the idea that they would give us notice of the construction prior to the arrival. It became very apparent that 9 people trying to relax and enjoy spring break could not peacefully coexist with the full blown construction above us, however we could not find an alternative available unit. That seems like common sense but Sarah at itrip could not seem to grasp this. I would think the owners of Beachin’ would be mortified if they knew the conditions renters were being subjected to under the current construction and the lack of care by their managing team at itrip.
