Before you book, we would like you to know this is a fantastic home for you to get away from the rest of the world!

We are making the following obvious statements due to recent guests who have stayed with us but did not know what they were booking.

This home is located deep in the foothills of the Colorado Rockies. Although there is a great restaurant a few minutes’ walk from the home, the closest store is 30 minutes away. Please make every effort to purchase what you need prior your arrival.

Also, it is a low ecological footprint home. Meaning, we conserve water.

"Lil' Frying Pan Cabin" is a cozy, rustic tiny home in beautiful Wondervu, CO (near Nederland). This nearly 100-yr-old, pint-sized cabin has been lovingly restored with simplicity in mind. This cabin has been meticulously updated to honor a reduced ecological footprint. This cabin is the epitome of "glamper" - a form of camping with accommodation and facilities more luscious than those associated with traditional camping.

The cabin is decorated with quirkiness that you will fall in love with as soon as you step foot inside. The home has new windows and skylights, basking the home in wonderful natural light! The original roof was papered - now it is a beautiful copper. The loft bedroom is wrapped in local CO beetle kill pine - and, it's gorgeous! After a day of adventuring, sit back and relax on the leather couch while warming your toes by the fireplace. Linking you to a simpler time, you can use the top of the fireplace to cook your dinner.

The fireplace is one of the cooking options you have in this tiny home: fireplace, small toaster oven, hot plate, microwave, or outside grill. Cooking on the wood stove reminds us of staying at Grandma's - bring the kids, they'll love it! There is no modern oven/stove. Nor will you find a dishwasher or washer/dryer.

"Lil' Frying Pan Cabin" has modern plumbing with warm water, a comfortable shower, and flushable toilet (the original outhouse is for storage). There is great WiFi in this home. You will not have an issue streaming. We ask that our guests be mindful of electric power usage, making sure to turn lights and baseboard heaters off when not needed and/or leaving the cabin. There is a refrigerator and a TV with a DVD player and available movies (no cable). It's your chance to unplug and reconnect with nature and your loved ones (if you chose to bring them).

This home is one of four cabins... so while remote, you're not completely off the grid. It is also easy to assess off SH-74. The home is located approximately 45 minutes drive from the downtown Denver (30 minutes from downtown Golden / 30 minutes from downtown Boulder).

The home’s location is perfect for adventure enthusiasts and quiet escapists alike. There is easy access to hiking and biking trails (don't forget to pack your boots and bike(s)!), family-friendly open space, skiing at Eldora or paddling at Gross Reservoir. There is a picnic table for guests use.

Perfect for friends or family. This cabin sleeps four. There is a king size bed in the loft and twin bunk beds in a separate bedroom downstairs.

This home is professionally cleaned using natural, eco-friendly cleaning products between each guest stay.

Staying in Wintertime? While the property is on a School Bus Route / County-maintained and plowed roadway, during the winter months it may be advisable to have a 4WD vehicle.

INTERESTING FACTs: Wondervu is a settlement that was developed in the late 1920s-1930s by the Denver lawyer Otto Friedrichs as a vacation community for the working class. Population of Wondervu is approximately 2600 people. Elevation is 8632 above sea level.

Very nice little cabin
5/5 stars
Perfect place for a few-day getaway, very clean, very cozy, a true small treasure Mountain retreat. Kitchen is little but fully functional. Think of being in an RV, also when it comes to water use. Very real feeling of being a luxurious Mountaineer in the early 1900 plus electricity & internet. Would go there again and we loved the place!

Perfect getaway
5/5 stars
Loved the cabin and was exactly what I was looking for. Beautiful drive and the cutest coffee shop 5 minutes away.

Exactly as advertised!
5/5 stars
Everything was exactly as described. The cabin was warm enough without making a fire, but fire making was easy as there was plenty of wood. Other renters' reviews had mentioned that the cabin was hard to find, but the only problem for use was to realize that CO 72 and Coal Creek Canyon Rd. were one and the same. There are other cabins around, but it is very easy to feel private, and also to get some privacy in the different spaces of the house. Note that some of the kitchen items are located on a shelf near and above the fridge. The instructions about water usage were clear and easy to follow. We had to be a little brave about the shower because it was short and not super hot---just as the instructions said. We supplemented by sink/sponge washing and it was fine. Would stay again in a heartbeat.

DO NOT STAY HERE
1/5 stars
Finding this cabin was difficult . Directions were sub par . The pump went out and had to stay somewhere else . And no return call from owner . We did not want to burn out his pump . I left two messages . I have contacted booking.com I am out 1200.00 for a weekend trip . Also nothing to get fire started with like newspaper or kindling ..
- Michelle

Hi Michelle, As I stated to you and Booking.com, we only allow a refund when we are allow to address a issue. You leaving your complaints after you checked out did not allow us an opportunity to make your stay a great one. With that, we received your multiple communications stating you we going to leave a poor review unless we refunded some of the cost of your stay. As I mentioned before we do not give money to people just because they threaten a poor review. With that, this review has nothing to do with the how well clean the cabin was how accurate the description of the property is, this has to do with money, and you not getting the refund you wanted. If you look at the previous reviews you will see that this cabin is a special place. The guests who stayed immediately after you left a 5 star review. We wish you the best of luck and if you plan on traveling to the foothills again please book somewhere else. Sincerely Bryan

A Special Place
5/5 stars
This home is the definition of "getting away from it all" The cabin is secluded but about 30 minutes from the closest town. The cabin has a full refrigerator as well as a wood stove to cook on. The bedrooms offer plenty of room and the beds are super comfy. The WiFi is extremely strong and i had no issue streaming a Zoom call. Nederland CO is a incredible town filled with great restaurants and shops. I am planning to stay here again!!!

Nice place.
5/5 stars
The inside of the cabin was warm, inviting and comfortable. The location was perfect to hiking, Golden and Denver. The outside of the cabin needs to be swept and freshened. Grill should be cleaned and porches swept before your arrival. That said, loved my stay.

Cozy little gem!
5/5 stars
We adored our stay at Li’l frying Pan - it was everything we expected and more! It was a perfect spot to get off the grid and spend quiet quality time. The cabin is delightfully decorated and cozy as can be. Do note that the location is in Wondervu which is a winding mountain drive away from both Nederland and Golden; we loved the location as it offered us plenty of opportunity for exploration.
- Emily

Little Frying Pan Cabin
5/5 stars
Brian and Lottie provided an exceptional stay at the Little Frying Pan in Wondervu. Their hospitality was outstanding by providing a few drinks and snacks. The place was clean and just as described prior to our arrival. They were upfront and honest about the features of the cabin. They checked in during our stay via phone to make sure our stay was the best it could be. They offered local tips to things to do.
- Matt

Matt was the perfect guest at Lil' Frying Pan cabin. Respectful of the home and our house rules. Easy to communicate with. Just wonderful. Welcome back anytime.

Fee Fo Review
3/5 stars
It was a little pricey with all the fees. It felt like they weren't ready for us. Several things were not as listed.
- Ron Rebecca

This little glamper cabin is the perfect getaway for those looking to unplug and reconnect with family, friends, and nature. With its design and commitment to a low ecological footprint, it may not be for everyone. We request guests conserve water and electricity to help the environment, but also because third party services in the small mountain town are not instant like many of us are used to. When we were informed the kayaks were moved at 8 pm, we were quick to respond, within the hour, as we know that our guests enjoy paddling at Gross Reservoir. While there is internet and the ability to watch a movie on the TV, some of our favorite things to do are lay in the hammock, play horseshoes, sit in the rocking chairs looking toward the Continental Divide, and end the day playing a game (Connect 4, Memory, Monopoly, Catch Phrase, or a hand of cards) from the cabinet in the bunk room.

Peace and Serenity
5/5 stars
Not many people really enjoy what Colorado has to offer. Being able to relax up in the mountains with fresh air is something that is really taken for granted. Going up to this cabin was awesome. It’s very tastefully decorated and the loft is a very cozy little place. I absolutely loved staying here. Definitely would recommend to anyone who’s looking to get both a small or long term getaway in such a serene place.
- T

Thanks for your review. Isn't that the truth... we all have a tendency to take the simple things like fresh air for granted. The loft is like being in a really comfy, cozy treehouse, no?
