Disappointing Stay – Poorly Stocked, Poorly Managed, and Misleading Setup
1/5 stars
Our recent stay at this apartment in Ocean City, Maryland at this location was full of avoidable problems that made the experience frustrating and far below what a vacation rental should offer. First, the apartment was not ready for guests when we arrived. The beds were missing fitted sheets, flat sheets, pillowcases, or comforters because the linen did not arrive on time prior to our arrival. We were essentially left with bare mattresses and had to call just to get basic bedding. To make it worse, there were no towels at all provided — no bath towels, hand towels, or washcloths. We had to make multiple calls on the first day to report the missing essentials, and while the items were eventually delivered that day, it was still a hassle. We had to wait around and interrupt our plans to accommodate someone coming out to drop things off, replace the remote, and install a smoke detector. It was not the kind of welcome or convenience we expected from a vacation rental. We also discovered the smoke detector had been removed, which is a serious safety concern. That was only corrected the next day after it was reported. The TV remote didn’t work either — it was the wrong brand entirely. A universal remote was brought out later, but again, only after we had to report the issue. The kitchen was extremely under stocked. There were no usable pots and pans, no cutting board, and only four plates, even though the apartment is advertised to sleep six. Cooking or eating together as a group was almost impossible. The tiny pull-out dining table barely seats five, and even that's cramped. If you're planning to cook or eat together as a group of five or six, be prepared for some frustration. Other issues worth mentioning: • The blinds in the sliding glass doors didn’t function properly, which limited privacy and light control. • There were no blackout curtains, so if you’re hoping to sleep in past sunrise, forget it — the sunlight blares into the room early in the morning. • The air conditioner is located in the living room, near the pull-out sofa, and it doesn't adequately cool the bedrooms where the two queen beds are. That created a ridiculous imbalance — the person sleeping on the sofa was freezing from direct cold airflow and had to bundle up or shield themselves with pillows, while the people in the bedrooms were too warm and uncomfortable. • There was no broom, mop, or dustpan, despite the unit having floors that collect sand and dust quickly — especially in a beach town. • The listing also says you must display your Parking Pass from your visor; however we did not receive out “parking pass” till the day before we left, which was 10 days later. So absolutely pointless. As for location, it's not nearly as convenient as you might expect. It’s a pretty long walk to the beach and boardwalk, and if you're older or have mobility issues, it’s going to be a challenge. While the issues were eventually addressed after calls on the first day, the real problem was the inconvenience of having to chase down basics, wait around, and adjust our plans just to get the apartment to a livable condition. That’s not how a guest experience should go. Bottom line: this apartment is not ready to accommodate guests, and it’s not close to the beach in any practical way. It’s uncomfortable, under stocked, and poorly maintained — not worth the money, and definitely not something I’d recommend to families or groups expecting a functional or relaxing stay.

Reserving was fairly easy and quicker than others. I totally enjoyed my stay. The unit was very clean, comfortable and for the most part quiet. Would hope to revisit and reserve something for next season.
