The property itself is a standout: beautifully maintained, private, and set right on the water. Step from the house onto a cozy porch that opens to a sweeping grassy yard, leading down to a lakeside patio where you can enjoy morning coffee, sunset cocktails, or simply watch the boats drift by. With direct waterfront access, it’s the ideal setting to relax, reconnect, and truly live the lake life. Venture out for walks on the Isle and hiking trails close by.
Guests also enjoy access to Candlewood Isle’s exclusive amenities—including tennis courts, pickleball, basketball, a sandy beach, etc.—giving you everything you need for a memorable stay on Connecticut’s most beloved lake.

This warm and welcoming retreat offers three levels of living space, filled with cozy quirks, slanted ceilings, wood details, and plenty of charm. Quaint retreat offerings thoughtfully updated amenities, including a newly renovated bathroom, new linens and towels, and a fully equipped kitchen.

LAKEFRONT & BOATING
Guests have direct access to the lake from the property. You may park your boat at the house dock, but please note:
- The dock sits on the rougher side of the lake
- We cannot guarantee your boat won’t shift, bump, or get nicked during rough water or storms
- In winter, the lake often freezes, offering snowshoeing and ice skating right outside your door.
IMPORTANT: Swimming, boating, and all water activities on Candlewood Lake are done at your own risk. Guests are responsible for their own safety while enjoying the lake.
PETS CONSIDERED, but PRIOR APPROVAL REQUIRED before booking.
- Pets are not allowed on the property without prior approval.
- A minimum charge of $500 applies for unauthorized pets.
- Approved pets incur a $25 per night per pet service fee (charged after booking).
- Guests are asked to keep pets off furniture and crate them if left alone in the home.
- Guests must clean up after their pets and report any “accidents” prior to departure.

GUEST ACCESS
Guests have access to the entire home and all Candlewood Isle amenities listed above.
A unique door code will be provided for your stay.
There are two parking spaces in the alcove in front of the house. Street parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis during the day. There is generally NO overnight parking on the street. During winter months, when snow is expected, this is heavily enforced; plows must be able to plow the entire street.

Candlewood Lake is Connecticut’s largest lake and one of its most cherished recreational spots. Spend your days boating, kayaking, swimming, fishing, or simply relaxing by the water. The surrounding towns offer small-town charm, local markets, hiking trails, restaurants, and plenty of outdoor activities.
Even though the home feels like a peaceful lakeside escape, everything you need is just a short drive away.

GUEST IDENTIFICATION REQUIRED
Guests may be asked to complete a Clear ID verification before check-in. If this is not completed, the entry code will not be provided, and the reservation will be subject to cancellation with no refund.
FALSIFIED RESERVATION
Any reservation obtained under false pretense will be subject to forfeiture of the reservation deposit, damage deposit, and/or balance of rental payment. NO PARTIES, EVENTS, PERFORMING ARTISTS OR BANDS ARE ALLOWED AT ANY TIME. The maximum number of guests or visitors for this house, as indicated in the listing, should be honored at all times, day or night. These are cause for eviction with no refund and may damage our ability to offer the home to future guests, exposing you to liability. This is a quiet residential neighborhood; please be respectful of the neighbors at all times!

All guests must review the Candlewood Isle Guidelines. Please print the first page, initial, date and email to iTrip Connecticut Coast. Or if you prefer, respond to the Welcome email stating that you have read and agree to Candlewood Isle Guidelines. You will not be granted access to the property without these documents completed.
HAZARDOUS PRACTICES
Do not dismantle smoke detectors.
ITEMS LEFT ON PROPERTY
Any items left that a guest wishes to be returned and shipped will incur a fee.
AUTHORIZED PETS ONLY
Pets are allowed with prior authorization; guests must inform us of any pets before arrival. An additional pet fee of $25 per approved pet per night will apply after booking (rates negotiable for stays longer than 5 days). Pets are not permitted on furniture or beds. Pets must never be left alone in the home unless crated. Owners are responsible for cleaning up after their pets. Guests must clean up after their pets and report any “accidents” prior to departure. A min. charge for $500 will be applied to bookings with unauthorized pets.

UTILITIES
No compensation will be given for the temporary outage of electricity, gas, water, cable, or telephone service. Outages will be reported immediately and all efforts will be made to restore them as soon as possible.
NONSMOKING UNIT
Smoking is strictly prohibited. Your damage deposit will be forfeited and you will incur an additional charge for carpet cleaning and deodorizing if any evidence of smoking is found.
NO PARTIES or ILLEGAL ACTIVITY
ENTRY BY OWNER
Owner or owner's agents may enter the premises under the following circumstances: in case of an emergency; to make any necessary or agreed-upon repairs, alterations, or improvements; supply necessary or agreed-upon services or show the premises to prospective purchasers, renters, or contractors. The owner will provide the renter with at least 24 hours' notice of the Owner's intent to enter (except in the case of an emergency).
SLEEPING CAPACITY/DISTURBANCES
The maximum number of guests allowed is 8. Violations of our noise or the maximum number of guests agreed to at the time of booking will result in possible fines or immediate eviction with all loss of all rent. Depending on the severity of a noise situation we may call and issue a warning or proceed with a $300 fine. If we cannot reach the guest who booked the property, someone will show up to, at a minimum, issue a $300 fine and/or evict the entire group immediately. Any delay will result in us involving the authorities and trespassing every person on the property as well as the loss of all rent. Additional fines or damages may be assessed after removal.
HOLD HARMLESS
iTrip or the Owner does not assume liability for loss, damage, or injury to persons or personal property. Neither does the owner accept any liability for any inconveniences, damage, loss, or injury arising from any temporary defects or stoppage in the supply of water, gas, cable service, electricity, or plumbing, as well as due to weather conditions, natural disasters, acts of God, or other reasons beyond its control.
MAINTENANCE
Report any maintenance needs for the premises to us, and we will respond as quickly as possible. Refunds will not be made for maintenance issues including, but not limited to, heating and air conditioning, appliances, televisions, and stereos.
LINENS/TOWELS/SUPPLIES
Any lost or damaged linens will be deducted from your deposit or automatically billed to the card you used. We recommend that you bring any special items that you may need.
FIREPIT
The fire pit is available for guest use at their discretion. Guest must provide their own firewood; none is provided. Fires must be attended to at all times and extinguished when no longer in use.
LAKE
Swimming in the lake is permitted but entirely at your own risk. Please exercise caution and be responsible for your safety while enjoying the lake. By choosing to swim, you acknowledge that you do so at your own risk.
ADDITIONAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS
The undersigned Tenant, for himself/herself, his/her heirs, assignors, executors, and administrators, fully releases and discharges Owner from any and all liabilities, claims, demands, and causes of action by reason of any injury, loss, or damage by whatever nature which has or have occurred, or may occur to the undersigned, or any of his/her guests as a result, or in connection with the occupancy of the premises and agrees to hold Owner free and harmless of any claim or suit arising therefrom. In any action concerning the rights, duties, or liabilities of the parties to this agreement, their principals, agents, successors, or assignees the prevailing party shall be entitled to recover any reasonable attorneys fees and costs. Owner reserves the right to terminate this Agreement at their discretion at any time.
