If your beach vacation or family gathering requires abundant space and comfortable furnishings right on the beach, Sandy Bay is the vacation home for you. Large full width balconies on the first and second floors are perfect to enjoy a fully unobstructed view of the beach and ocean. Just south of the Garden City pier, there are no high rise buildings to look past to enjoy the view, fewer crowds competing for beach space.

Sandy Bay is an oceanfront oasis of comfort and convenience. Every room is beautifully decorated and comfortably furnished. Relax after every vacation day with flat screen TVs in the living room and all four bedrooms. WiFi internet access is provided. There is parking space for four cars. Motorcycles, small trailers and golf carts are ok.

The first floor living area has two loveseats and a sofa sleeper, and an armchair. There are full size appliances in the kitchen including a ceramic top stove and a refrigerator with ice dispenser. The kitchen is well equipped with a full complement of cookware and tableware for gracious dining. There is a charcoal barbecue grill for guest use.

There are four large bedrooms, each has a flat screen TV and direct balcony access. The first floor bedroom has a queen size bed and bathroom, with balcony access. The master bedroom upstairs has a king size bed and full bath. One upstairs bedroom has three twin beds. The fourth bedroom has a queen size bed and a twin daybed, it shares access to a full bath with the third bedroom. Beds will be made with sheets and pillowcases when you arrive, kitchen and bath towels are included.

There is parking space for four vehicles, and you can bring or rent a golf cart.

Small dogs (30 lbs and under) may be considered with individual approval and $200+ pet fee. Please contact/email for approval before reserving with pets. Pets are prohibited unless specifically approved in advance. Horry County ordinance prohibits dogs on the beach between May 1st and Labor Day between the hours of 10:00 am and 5:00 pm.

The person renting this property must be at least 25 years old, have a valid credit card, and be present for the entire rental.

Garden City Beach is perfect for a family vacation, away from the traffic and crowds, but still a short drive to the wide variety of attractions, shopping, dining and entertainment the Grand Strand has to offer. The Garden City Beach pier, restaurants and shops are are 3 blocks north of Sandy Bay. Luxury shopping and dining are a few minutes north in the Market Commons area. Just a short drive north are all the attractions and shopping of Myrtle Beach, Broadway at the Beach, Coastal Grand shopping center, the Myrtle Beach boardwalk, and one of the world's largest Ferris wheels. For a unique cultural experience, Brookgreen Gardens displays one of the world's largest collections of sculpture by American artists in a lush outdoor setting, along with a zoo and butterfly garden, it's just a few minutes south on Business 17. Not far further south is Pawley's Island, home of famous rope hammocks. Historic Charleston is just 1 1/2 hours south, plan a day trip to take an informative carriage tour of this beautiful old city.

Frequently Asked Questions

In most cases, no.  If you find beach chairs or other beach items in the property, you are welcome to use them.  However, most owners advise that their beach chairs were left on the beach too often.  
Pets are not permitted at many of our properties.  In most cases, HOA rules prohibited guests from bringing pets, even though owners are permitted to.  We have a few properties where we can consider allowing a small dog - NO cats.  The dog must be at least a year old, and weigh less than 30 pounds (two properties are limited to 20 pound dogs).  These are clearly marked "allows pets" and a non-refundable rent surcharge of $200 ($300 for two small dogs) is required.  Please contact us with information about your dog before booking a reservation - at which time we can approve your dog, add the animal surcharge to your reservation and collect said surcharge if you booked the property through a 3rd party affiliate.

Cancellation refunds are only made after (and if) the period is re-rented, less a $100 cancellation fee.  If you are concerned about needing to cancel please consider travel insurance; it covers cancellation for a wide range of reasons, along with many additional benefits.  
Our check-in time is 4pm at our office. Approval for a late check in will be granted in EXTREMELY RARE CIRCUMSTANCES. If one is granted, the renter must return to the check-in office the following day before 2pm to complete the check-in process.  This includes the renter showing ID to confirm identity and that he/she meets the minimum age requirement. There will be a $100 charge if this is not completed.
The person renting any property must be 25 or older, have a valid credit card, and be present throughout the rental period.  The renter will be responsible for the actions of and damage caused by everyone in the group.  Any reservation obtained under false pretense will be subject to forfeiture of reservation deposit, damage deposit, and/or balance of rental payment.
WiFi internet access is provided in all of our properties.  Security and connection speed vary widely.  The HOA systems typically do not require a password.  If you have important business or financial matters to transact, consider bringing a mobile WiFi connection device of your own.  Connection speeds may not be fast enough to support streaming movies, music or video games.  
Parking is limited at all oceanfront condominium complexes.  We can only provide the number of parking passes the HOA rules permit.  In most cases, no more than two parking passes can be provided.  We are limited to one parking pass per unit at Horizon East, Afterdeck, and for one and two bedroom units at Waters Edge.  

There aren't any free public parking lots near the beach.  Surfside Beach has some metered parking along Ocean Boulevard and some lots.  

The rental includes the parking passes available, but does not guarantee the availability of parking space.  Parking is managed by the property manager, we have no control over the parking lot or parking space.  
For violation of any of the proceeding rules, tenant and all other occupants will be evicted according to South Carolina law with forfeiture of all monies.  In addition, outside of Airbnb rules and restrictions, all guests agree to the iTrip Vacations Myrtle Beach South Rental Agreement.
  • The reservation must be in the name of someone who is at least 25 years old. This person must also be in the rental the entire length of the stay. Any reservation obtained under false pretense will be subject to forfeiture of all monies paid.
  • Check-in is 4pm at our office. Approval for a late check in will be granted if notified in advance. If one is granted, the renter must return to the office next day to complete the check-in process.  This includes renter showing ID to confirm minimum age requirement. There will be a $100 charge if this is not completed. 
  • PLEASE NOTE: if you are booking on Airbnb: Airbnb puts the Admin Fee, Limited Damage Waiver Fee, Cleaning & Linen Fee all together and calls it the CLEANING FEE. That's why the cleaning fee appears to be high but it is not that high. We hope this helps.
  • We do not rent to house parties and/or groups including, but not limited to, fraternity/sorority, graduation, or spring break.  
  • If evidence of a pet(s) is found in the unit or on the premises and your rental does not include advance permission and pet fee, you will be required to vacate immediately with no refund.
  • Smoking is not allowed in the properties. 
  • Each property's max occupancy is stated in the rental agreement and is located in the property's description.
  • No barbeque grills of any kind are permitted on balconies or inside the unit. No open flames, ie. candles, are permitted on balconies or in the unit.
  • There is no daily maid service. Linens and towels are included and are not to be taken from the unit. Additional cleaning fees will be due in the event that cleaning involves the removal of excessive sand, trash or other unusual conditions.
  • No compensation will be given for temporary outage of electricity, gas, water, cable, or internet service. Outages should be reported immediately and all efforts will be made to have them restored as soon as possible.
  • Tenant agrees to leave the premises and its contents in the same neat and tidy condition as Tenant found the premises to be upon move-in.
  • Tenant agrees to abide by the rules of the HOA applicable to the property. Violations that result in expense, fines or limitation of the rights of the owner will be charged to the Tenant's credit card.
  • Owner or owner's agents may enter the premises under the following circumstances: In case of an emergency; to make any necessary or agreed upon repairs, alterations, or improvements; or to supply necessary or agreed upon services or show the premises to prospective purchasers, renters or contractors. Owner will provide renter with at least 24 hours' notice of owners intent to enter (except in the case of an emergency). Pest control personnel must be admitted (refusal is not permitted).
  • We supply the number of parking hangtags or other credentials permitted by property manager or Home Owners Association rules at each complex.  We cannot control parking, and cannot guarantee the availablity of parking space at any particular time.  This rental includes parking credentials, but not parking space.  Parking at Horizon East, Cape Coddages One and Afterdeck is limited to one vehicle per unit during the summer months.  No boats, jet skis, trailers, golf carts or RVs at any property unless specifically permitted.
  • Furnishings are not to be removed from the premises for use outside or in other properties.
  • Neither iTrip nor the Owner assume any liability for loss, damage or injury to persons or their personal property. Neither does Owner accept any liability for any inconveniences, damage, loss or injury arising from any temporary defects or stoppage in supply of water, gas, cable service, electricity or plumbing, weather conditions, natural disasters, acts of God, or other reasons beyond its control.
  • Tenant hereby acknowledges that the premises they have reserved may include a community pool and the undersigned agrees and acknowledges that the community pool and patio/deck can be dangerous areas, that the deck/patio can be slippery when wet, and that injury may occur to anyone who is not careful. With full knowledge of the above facts and warnings, the undersigned Tenant accepts and assumes all risks involved to Tenant and all of Tenant's guests in or related to the use of the community pool and patio areas.
Surfside Beach City ordinance prohibits dogs on the beach between May 15 and September 15. South Shores HOA will CONSIDER small dogs to accompany tenants between LABOR DAY and MEMORIAL DAY. They are NOT permitted during the peak summer months which are June, July and August. There is a maximum of two(2) dogs considered and each must be under 30lb. There is a $200 charge for the first and $300 for two. You MUST have your pet approved by iTrip Vacations Myrtle Beach South in order for them to stay in any of our properties. Tenant MUST contact us with age, weight and breed via email- at which time we will approve or deny stay request.  If stay is approved the pet fee will be added to your reservation and must be paid before arrival. If stay is denied the pet may NOT enter our property at any time!

The house overall was nice. Loved the closeness to the beach and the back porch. The house could use a better cleaning and updating of bathrooms and cleanier furniture. The kitchen needs better stocked with pots and frying pans.

House is in a perfect and mostly quiet location. The beach access is great! Beds are a little uncomfortable (mattresses are very firm), there are no blankets on the beds just sheets and bedspread so, if you’re one who gets chilly at night, bring a few extra blankets. Kitchen could use a few extra small things such as baking sheets, pizza pans, etc. overall it’s a great home and we would stay here again!

This property should have had baking sheets, as we stock all of our properties with them, so we will definitely look into why they were not there. As for the blankets - when you received your check-in packet there was a house information sheet which states: "Blankets are provided by request. We do this to ensure they are clean and sanitized. Please request during regular business hours of 9am - 4pm." We are always more than happy to run a blanket out to you:) Hope to see you all next summer as well and take care! :-)

Wonderful House ! Can't beach the ocean view from each room ! Was very clean upon arrival - easy checkin - I trip has been amazing checking in with me - we are still here for another 2 days but I can't see any thing that would stop me from giving them 5 stars ! awesome place to rent thru and an amazing house !!! Plenty of dishes in the kitchen (except cheese grater lol - I'm weird I like to shred my own cheese) Beds are in wonderful shape - a little hard for me but everything is wonderful !!! Absolutely wonderful ! We will be back ! Thank you I Trip

House needs some updating/restoration from storm damage. Also, garbage has not been picked up this whole week. We have no place to put ours. Also, why only one hand towel for each bathroom? People we have dealt with are super. They have been caring and concerned with our trip. They need a big raise!

There were a few issues but nothing major. The dryer vent was crushed against the wall so the clothes weren’t drying until we figured out the issue. Other than that it was OK. I say OK because I see the cost has almost doubled for next year so we will not be staying in this house again. The owners need to upgrade a lot of things before this house is worth what they are now asking.

Yes - dryer vents can be a pain when guests accidentally push up against the dryer, crushing the vent. We are glad you were able to find and fix that - thank you! Also - the pricing you speak of is a bit off, but it's only because of how the weeks lay out next year. The week you usually book (the second week of October) has been the first week of our "early winter" season, which relay to discounted rates. For some reason next year that week is the last week of our "fall season" so it is $500 more in rent than one week later. If you had run the quote for that very next week (14-21st) it was back to what you paid this year. Either way, while the owners are doing their usual "post crazy summer rush" maintenance to the house they DO plan on doing a few upgrades, so hopefully we can see you again next fall (I see you've already booked another one of our properties for the spring) and you can check them out!!!

Breakfast by the beach

Called the day I arrived about a broken chair and was told maintenance would pick it up Monday but they never arrived. Is what it is but would have liked to see some follow through. Also, the smoke detector upstairs beeped non stop. Vents had mildew or mold around them and could really use some attention as it caused some concern for a few in our party. Other than what's been pointed out, we had an excellent stay and very much enjoyed ourselves.

The unit here is very nice however the kitchen sorely needs updating for utensils that are lacking such as measuring cups measuring spoons strainers decent frying pans etc. . Staff have been very nice to try to accommodate me for my requests. We all love the spacious decks. The can opener to the right of the stove doesn’t work so it may as well be thrown out. There are only 4 wine glasses for a house that accommodates 12 ! There are no storage containers for leftovers. It is difficult to maneuver around the dining room because the table is a rectangle. A round light wooden one like the living room furniture would look great and be easier to get around. I love the Riverside furniture the owners got for the living room and the sofas are comfortable.the bedrooms are fine. My nephew is over six feet and the shower head is too short. There are fittings that can be added to make it higher. The bathroom downstairs on the main level is a disaster. Wicker shelf is falling off the wall, the towel bar is too high since it’s above the tub surround, there are no good places to hang towels and the toilets are old and very low to the ground they should be changed out for comfort height or chair height toilets . The tubs surrounds should be ditched and decent tile put up in somewhere to accommodate soaps shampoo etc. when showering or bathing . And by the way the review of this unit States that there’s balcony access from all bedrooms upstairs when only the middle bedroom has balcony access the other two bedrooms have windows that go up and down. Did the owners expect you to climb out of a window when you’re 60 to 80 years old ? The wording needs to be changed Oceanview not access to the deck. That’s all for now but I could go on and on.

We spent an extended time at Sandy Bay and enjoyed it very much. Having a stand-alone house is much nicer than the large condo we rented previous years. The location 1/3 mile south of the Atlantic Avenue intersection is great: not too close, not too far. We liked that we could park 2 cars separately under the house, rather than just one bay requiring frequent car moving to get out. The full-width covered porch is very functional and offered unobstructed views of the ocean out every window and door. The benches built into the raised beach stairs are delightful to use for sitting out with out having to lug chairs, and are higher up to afford a great viewpoint. The interior is outfitted nicely and is very functional. The beds were comfortable, and some had memory foam toppers. We appreciated all the new bed pillows vs. a previous review which mentioned the old ones. To our delight, two of the single beds in the fourth bedroom have been joined to create one larger one which served our purpose much better. It would be useful to have some blackout drapes to draw shut over the vinyl vertical blinds in the upper 2 bedrooms as the light from the morning sun and reflection off the ocean is intense despite the blinds. Elevate Cleans responded promptly to every concern we raised. We will definitely stay here again next year!

We have been coming to the Murrells Inlet area for years and usually stay at a condo on one of the many golf courses in the area. This year, we decided to spend Christmas on the beach and gave a try. It was our first time renting a vacation home but it will not be our last! Our group of 9 and small dog selected Sandy Bay and we were not disappointed. Check-in, which was located about a mile away from the property, was easy and the property was even nicer than the pictures posted had indicated. Additionally, If you are new to the area, Sandy Bay is very close to shopping, food and activities. The only real negative is that there is not a great deal of interior living space (the kitchen, dining and living rooms are in one open space) however, this was more than made up for by the large decks facing the ocean on both floors. There is a first floor bedroom and full bath and upstairs has three bedrooms, two baths and a laundry area. The internet and cable connections were patchy at times but still fairly reliable. By far, the greatest aspect of the property was the incredible ocean views and ability to walk/run the beach each day! It was really a great Christmas getaway and I am confident that my family will find our way back to Sandy Bay in the future.

My family all agreed, this was one of our favorite beach trips. I know...beach in December??? Who does that? It was my daughter's first year of college and we opted to spend the week on the beach during her break. Sandy Bay had the ideal floor plan for us. A huge covered porch, complete with rocking chairs...ideal for those rainy days; and a 2nd floor deck as big as the porch...ideal for star gazing. 3 bedrooms on 2nd floor, and 1 bedroom on the lower level. Parking bay under the house was well lit. Excellent walkway going to the beach, complete with seating area. The place was perfect!!!

The house was not clean. The living room furniture was worn and dirty. The carpet was utterly filthy. The door on the refrigerator was broken. The back door to the lower deck would stick very badly. The seating provided on the deck was very uncomfortable, and worn out. Overall, we would not recommend this property to anyone. Nor shall we stay here again. This home could be amazing if updates were made, repairs and throughly cleaned.

We rented Sandy Bay for a friends 50th Birthday..what an amazing place! Plenty of room..everything was clean and ready for us as promised...from reservation process to check out everyone was friendly and professional..we will definitely stay again. We only have one negative..the matresses and the bedding..they really are past their prime and need to be replaced along with the pillows..the pillows weren't regular bed pillows but little square ones that looked like they went into an accent unfortunately for most of us we didnt get the restful sleep that you really want on a vacation, so if they replace the mattresses and pillows I would have said the perfect vacation!

House has plenty of room, right on the beach. Beautiful views of the morning sunrise. Unfortunately, we stayed during spring break week which put us right on a drag strip for super loud trucks racing back and forth until about 1am. Also was disappointed that we had 2 issues needing repair, which were never addressed after leaving a voicemail. Dishwasher in the kitchen doesn't open all the way because the oven door blocks it which made loading and unloading a super pain in the neck.

Perfect spot on the sandy beach

My sister and I took four H.S. seniors on their spring break (March 24-31) to this beautiful beach and loved every minute of it. This home is planted squarely on the beach and a fantastic place for a group. The four bedrooms were spacious and porch, deck and walkway to the beach all inviting. We loved the home and location (Garden City Beach versus the Grand Strand is an excellent choice). Days spent walking and finding shells and sea glass were lovely, and day trips such as dolphin-watching and finding 'gators on the golf course were thrilling for all. Neighbors kite-surfing and shooting off fireworks added to the beachside fun. While we didn't bring our dog, we saw several families walking their pets along the beach. Murrell's Inlet is worth finding just a couple of miles away, offering a wharf lined with seafood restaurants and vendors that take advantage of the marsh in between 'our' house and that location. We didn't arrive until almost midnight yet the key box was easy to find and instructions were clear. Dave and his team were responsive when we had small issues with the home, and the owner's brother, Kyle, spent time ensuring fixes on-site were managed efficiently without interrupting our vacation. There are a couple of tweaks to make in utilities and decor that would make this a true five-star location. Carpet throughout most of the home is an odd choice when you literally live on the sand but it was clean. The washing machine and dryer are old and work but they're really loud and vibrate the entire home. The dishwasher cannot be fully opened to load as the installers forgot there was a stove blocking the door. And the dining room table with outdoor chairs make it difficult to easily gather and move around for game night or meals -- but hopefully most will be outside enjoying the huge picnic benches instead of dining inside because Mother Nature will be kinder later in the season. I'd highly recommend working with iTrip. Checking into this beach home for a week or a month or more. We're happy to have had this time to connect and laugh while listening to the pounding surf. Thanks!
