Overall the house was lovely and we had pleasant stay. However the hot water in the back bathroom was an issue- we couldn't take a full shower without the the water turning cold. The house was welcoming.

We’re glad you enjoyed the home but we’re sorry you had hot water issues. We did check in with you and you replied “no problems- place is lovely” so we’re disappointed to discover later that you had a hot water issue. We do make it clear that we want to know if our guests have any issues as we want everyone to have a great stay. We would have taken a look at the hot water situation. Sadly we can’t do anything a week after you check out and notify us by leaving a 4 star review.

Wonderful location, great house. We had activities all over the area but could easily have spent all our time at Shem Creek! So many restaurants close by, a nice bottle shop and coffee shop literally a step away. The house was comfortable, with a nice backyard fire pit to enjoy. We made great use of the ice maker! Will definitely return here. Thanks for everything!

The Creek House was a super home for our long weekend in Charleston. The location near the water, shops, and restaurants, as well as downtown Charleston made it easy to enjoy a variety of activities. The house was clean and the large lot was perfect for my dogs. Thank you for sharing this home.

The six of us, found the location and space just what we needed while staying in town for a wedding. It was a short ride to Sullivans Island and again a short ride into Charleston. We enjoyed walking locally for breakfast. Our hosts were gracious and Quick to respond to our messages.

This house is comfortable. It easily sleeps six in three bedrooms and two more on a pull-out sofa. For the musically inclined, there is a playable piano in the dining area. We found the dining area also great for playing cards and board games. But for those wanting to just lounge and watch movies there is an entirely different room for that scene. Again, it is a comfy and cozy house. Out back is a different story, the yard has granddaddy size oak, pecan and magnolia trees providing shade to the house and across the sprawling backyard. This meant even in August you could be outside morning, noon or night. I read outside a lot and it was always pleasant with mostly indirect sunlight. It was a beautiful thing to stay so close to the water and have full access to it. You can launch almost any type of boat jiffy quick at the boat landing. We had our kayaks with us and easily walked them down to the landing for paddles up and down the creek at high tide. There is even a loaner life vest area at the boat landing that is run on the honor system. Since the Creek House sits at most maybe 75 - 100 yards from the boat landing you can take your boat in and out at your leisure for fishing/cruising and have free parking for your trailer at Creek House. We didn’t utilize that feature, but to me it seemed like a good deal financially and for ease of mind. Don’t forget the beach is only about three miles away and an easy bike ride through the Old Village and out the Sullivan’s Island causeway. We saw Roseate Spoonbills riding out to the beach. Our plans were to cook and eat in most of our stay. However, there were so many excellent options a stone’s throw away for breakfast, lunch, dinner or just cocktails that we tossed out our original plan. Brown Fox coffee is a quick walk up and across at the Coleman traffic light. I recommend the hot Mexican Fox. This coffee spot is run by the sweetest young entrepreneur. Vintage also offers coffee and a nice breakfast too. Even better, in the evening you can walk two blocks to Shem Creek restaurants (Yes, no car required.) and drink and eat without worry or even closer hit Coastal Crust for pizza. Oh, and a real winner idea. Tuesday night is the Farmer’s Market at the middle school. We walked up and bought bar-b-que with homemade sides to take home. The non-meat eater had shrimp steamed in front of them for their supper. It really doesn’t get any better.
