It is a great location and the beach is beautiful. Plenty of towels and the beach towels were a plus . The kitchen was well equipped. The furniture is a bit dated. Definely need more outdoor furniture. The cushions all need to be replaced . Only one chair on the deck off the master . The unit is large and having a garage was good because it was hot. I was glad there were a few beach chairs. It is a necessity when you fly in. It was a bit pricey for the time of year. The lack of a pool is also a negative

This townhouse was perfect for our family vacation. We had more than enough room for 2 adult couples and 2 children. The location was key. Sunsets from the balcony and walking distance to everything. Having a garage parking spot plus room for another car in the driveway was ideal for us. Management staff was very responsive answering a few questions I had before and during our visit. Upon arrival the unit was spotless inside and well appointed with everything we needed. They even had beach chairs, umbrellas, and some sand toys available for use. Helpful Hurricane Helene update: Prior to our trip, we were worried about the condition of the property since so many homes in the area were so badly damaged during the 2024 hurricane season. I’m happy to report this home is in great shape and will not disappoint. There is still some minor damage to the outside of the building from Hurricane Helene, but nothing that impacted our stay (missing patio tiles, minor vinyl fence damage, etc). The property manager was on site one afternoon assessing the damage and putting a plan together for those repairs so I’m sure it’s being addressed. I highly suggest this townhouse and iTrip. If you’re considering coming to the area, please do. The beaches are beautiful and the restaurants/shops are mostly all up and running. We were welcomed with open arms everywhere we went and thanked repeatedly for supporting the local businesses. Can’t wait to go back!

I recently stayed at Captains House and had an amazing experience! The location was unbeatable—just steps from the beach, with breathtaking ocean views from the balcony. Waking up to the sound of waves was pure bliss. The condo itself was spotless, well-maintained, and beautifully decorated with a coastal vibe. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals, and the living space was cozy and comfortable. The bed was incredibly comfortable, making for a restful night’s sleep after long days in the sun. The area was quiet and relaxing, but still close to great restaurants and shops. Parking was easy, and check-in was seamless. Overall, this condo was the perfect beach escape. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful and luxurious stay by the ocean!

First of all, the location and layout of this townhouse are both wonderful! It is right on the beach and very close to a lot of great restaurants. The layout is perfect for a large family or mutli-family trip. However, the upkeep and cleaning of this location leaves some to be desired. We noticed the floors were not efficiently mopped, the outdoor shower was broken and not repaired, light fixtures had burnt out bulbs in dark bathrooms, the towels left fuzz all over after use, and overall the place just needs a few updates.

great townhouse. we rented both captains and admirals townhouse for a big family outing. it was great because they are next to each other and they have a great beach just outside your back door for the kids to play at. plenty of great food options close by. it's our second time staying there and plan to stay there again. if it was ever for sell i would buy the place it's that good of a location and setup for a family.

My main goal was to “be on the beach!” And that was certainly true here. 6 of us stayed for a week and we had a lovely time. Townhouse neighbors can be “awkward” but you have to assume that going in. We would totally stay there again. I’d love some nicer deck furniture next time :)

The home had everything we needed, beach chairs, sand toys and lots more. Love the short walk to the beach that wasn't crowded at all. Had a minor issue and was fixed within an hour. Will stay here again.

We loved staying at Captain's Townhouse again this year. It was wonderful. Everything went smoothly. The only suggestions I have is to update the patio furniture outside. There are only 2 chairs to go with the table on the porch, and the table by the pool had chairs that were missing straps across the seat on a few.

This spot is right on the beach, the location is ideal, there are amenities within in walking distance, note you can walk to John's pass on the beach from this location. The property is fairly large and open, the 4 bedrooms are mostly of good size, note the double bed in the upper level is a murphy bed (comfortable) but the sliding doors do not lend too much privacy and is the smallest bedroom. We found all things in working order and it was clean. Towels and bedding are good. The kitchen is well stocked if you choose to eat in. There is parking for 2 cars( 3 cars will be tight) , but note they are one in front of the other, so you maybe have to shuffle vehicles and backing out is a little tricky just due to the traffic on the roadway. If you have read the other reviews the criticism about the dating of the furnishing is well documented and is true, however, they are all functional but could use updating. If you’re considering this location I assume it is because you are choosing to spend time outside and on the beach and the outdoor furniture is not great. There are two high tables, one on the lower deck( 4 chairs) and one outside the main floor balcony ( 2 Chairs). There are some chairs for the beach, but they are either “well used” or kind of gross. Choices for outdoor beach chair is portable folding chairs (think kids soccer sidelines) and a couple of low end beach chairs, there are no loungers or fully reclining beach chairs, this seems to be a blind spot for a beachfront location. Since you’re paying the premium to be on the beach, the owner should spend the $ to have some of the folding reclining beach chairs, they are not expensive and maybe a couple of loungers for the lower deck area. We would consider to rent again, but would 1st look for a property that is more updated and has better outdoor furniture.

We stayed here with our family and found the home to be spacious and comfortable. The location is incredible! From the moment you walk in the door, the stunning beach views will impress you. The master balcony is huge and was our favorite spot for sunset watching. It was a peaceful stay. The adjacent home was hosting a girl's trip and we were surprised at the amount of privacy and tranquility we had, even with the fun group next door! The walk to the beach is short and so enchanting. Right at the end of the private party was a sea turtle nest that hatched during our stay! It was a magical moment we will all cherish. Of course the beach is fantastic, but we were surprise how much our group enjoyed the small splash pool! The unit was spotless and every thing worked well. Though, it should be noted there are lots of stairs if you have mobility concerns. We highly recommend staying here!

We stayed for a week at the Captains Townhouse. There was 8 of us and a baby. We had plenty of room in the house and each couple had their own bedroom! The house was clean and was decorated nice. There was well stocked kitchen for cooking. It was sooo nice being right on the beach and the beach was super nice! Not overly crowded, beach was clean with soft sand and the water was clear and the ocean bottom was soft. Waling distance to John's Pass and a few stores and restaurants. We would definitely come again!

we have the most amazing time in the captains townhouse. I cant tell you how helpful Charles and Liz were with our reservation and what an wonderful job Craig did with the cleanup. But the place itself was immaculate and the view was absolutely beautiful. It was romantic for me and my husband, and a blast when our grandchild came up to play on the beach. We couldve asked for more amazing stay. And we will definitely be staying there again. Thank you so much for everything.

Second floor bathroom door doesn't lock. One dinning room chair is wobbely and screws underneath need tightening. Top three glass panels above sliding doors need cleaning. The place was clean and well stocked. We had a wonderful family vacation and would definitely return.

We had a great family vacation with our two kids, nephew and their three friends (all 18 to 20 years old). They loved it. The townhome was very well appointed, had plenty of room and clean when we arrived. The location was amazing! We did have to switch the sliding glass doors as the right one was nearly impossible to open. It should be addressed as I nearly smashed a finger. We purchased batteries for the garage door opener as it stopped working. Other than that, we would definitely recommend it! The weather was great. Thanks for renting us the unit!

I have just returned from a weeks stay with five other ladies at the Captain's townhouse. I felt it necessary to write this review so potential future guests have an accurate, updated idea of the rental. I will start with the pros. Pros: Location - this was on an amazing area of the strip of beach. Having walked in either direction and seen some of the areas more crowded with more shells than sand, we really had the prime spot with almost all powdery white sand and generally the area to ourselves. The townhouse itself - it was a great layout, there was lots of space for all six adults to not feel over crowded. Two per bathroom was great (esp 5 ladies getting ready in the evening). The pictures advertised were an accurate representation of what we walked into overall. The townhouse was well equipped with everything you needed to get through a week on the beach. From dishes, to beach towels, to pots & pans, and beach chairs. We had a started supply of toilet paper, paper towels, and soaps. Cons: The pool!!! - This was super frustrating for us. When we arrived Saturday evening we lifted the cover on the splash pool to see merky/cloudy water and a pool full of sand and debris on the bottom. We phoned the help number provided immediately to have it resolved. Two days later (Monday) we had not heard back and we made a second phone call, to which we were told someone would attempt to come earlier, but the scheduled maintenance day was Wednesday. No one came until Wednesday and all they did was shock the pool. By the following day it still was not swimmable. This was a huge disappointment for us because it was advertised to have a usable pool, which it was not for the entire week we were there. Overall cleanliness - The house was not up to the standards of cleanliness I would expect for the price we paid to stay there (approx. $5000 cad). Several cooking items needed to be cleaned prior to use (eggs still in frying pan, waffle mix on waffle maker). There was dust and dirt on every surface that was not right in your face (ie counter spaces, kitchen table were visibly clean, but tv stands, baseboards, areas around beds were filthy). The townhouse is in desperate need of a deep clean. Overall rules - While we appreciate the need for some ground rules and restrictions, myself and the other staying there felt some of them were a little much, particularly to what we needed to do prior to leaving (gather all towels, wash all dishes, empty all fridge/food, remove trash). Others also felt perhaps with this high price, half way through the week someone should come in to remove trash, give a quick vacuum. Don't get me wrong, we all enjoyed our stay and would likely return. But I felt an obligation to inform potential customers and maybe even the owners themselves, of some things that could be done to increase satisfaction.

This is a private owner rental, so interim cleanings are not provided and we do ask for a couple of minimal items to get done on departure. Sorry if there was any misunderstanding with that. We had a wonderful time at the Captain's Townhouse. The place is beautiful, well equipped, and within close proximity to John's Pass! We rented paddle boards for the week and pretty much just relaxed and ate for the full 7 days. iTrip provided perfect communication from start to finish. Thank you!

We just returned from a 5 night stay at Maderia Beach. The house was spacious, CLEAN, updated and overall 5 out of 5 for a rental property. The beach access was so easy. We traveled with a 7 month old and 3 year old, in addition to my parents who are in their late 60s. Everyone had no problems getting to and from the house and beach. The layout of the property is ideal for families and offers a lot of privacy. The house is also within walking distance to dozens of restaurants (none of which are particularly good) but it's still nice to have the option to walk to dinner. We hope to return again!

This was our 2nd time staying at this house and still loved the location and views. The only bummer was the major construction happening right next door. It was very loud work that started at 7:30 and went until at least 5. Whereas the decks and pool were nice and relaxing our last visit, it certainly wasn't the case this time. We tried to be out at the beach as much as possible where the noise wasn't as noticeable. Hopefully the condos will be built soon so this beach house will be back to its tranquil self!
