Why not experience a unique and private stay with epic views of downtown Los Angeles and the Hollywood Hills in the neighborhood of Beachwood Canyon! Beachwood Canyon is a community in the Hollywood Hills, in the northern portion of Hollywood.. The upper portion of the canyon is the Hollywoodland community that was advertised in the 1920s by the original of what is now known as the Hollywood Sign. The neighborhood features its own Beachwood Cafe and Market, florist and stables. Book a stay now at our Buddha's Secret Stairs! ** For larger groups we also have a sister unit that sleeps 3-4 w kitchenette called the "Secret Stairs Studio"

Our large 1 bedroom 1 bath apartment w outdoor private patio fully stocked kitchen, and scenic living area boasting epic views of downtown LA tucked in the Hollywood Hills of Beachwood Canyon and steps from the iconic Saroyan Stairs. Plus more stair workouts such as the Belden/Woodshire stairs. This is a celebrity neighborhood so you'll never know who you'll see walking their dog. Another great workout is a 30 min hike to the iconic Hollywood Sign and Lake Hollywood Park. Other nearby sites are Hollywood Walk of Fame, Runyan Canyon, Universal Studios and Griffith Park 15 min drive away.

Property is managed by iTrip Los Angeles. Owner lives in the main house with their dogs. This second level home is all for you to enjoy w epic views in our primary bedroom, patio/balcony and living spaces is below the main house and there are shared walls but they are very mindful. We are fully transparent that you are renting a private second level unit attached to the house above and may hear occasional noises above you and their dogs barking when you first arrive.

** Due to stairs along the path this apartment is not suitable for small children or those with mobility issues.

Guests are welcome to explore the outdoor back gardens and gazebo, but please note that the path is uneven and you may get a visit from the owner's dogs.

Residential Street Parking Only (min 1 car). No RV's, trailers or hitches. Hollywood Hills streets are well-known to be very narrow and windy.

HOUSE RULES:

It is our mission to ensure that our valued guests enjoy their stay with us! This is a permitted vacation rental with the City of LA. We also have an equally as important commitment to our neighbors and our community. Below are the house rules that we must enforce. Please read them as well as all your guests prior to confirming your reservation.

* Minimum age policy is 25 years old. Valid photo ID will be required, as well as names and ages of all your Guests. (exceptions will be considered with a refundable $1000 security deposit that will be completed via email with your credit card authorization after your booking)

* Check-in is after 4 pm | Check out is at 11 am

MAX NUMBER OF OCCUPANTS ( 2 people) Extra Guest Fee $75/per guest per night

The Property is to be occupied by no more than the maximum sleep number stated on reservation unless approved in writing by Management. If Guest exceeds the occupancy limit and falsifies occupancy information at the time of reservation, Guest shall be subject to eviction. "Occupants" includes small children, infants and any and all visitors. If more than the maximum number is found to be occupying the Property at any time, you agree that a charge of $100 per person/per day will be made to your credit card. Additionally, this Agreement may be immediately terminated without a refund of any amounts paid. No Exceptions.

NO PARTIES OR EVENTS - due to the City of LA's strict ban of parties of large groups we need exact headcounts of your guests at all times. Outside visitors not permitted.

A party is defined as any combination of the following; ANY loud noise and/or excessive drinking that is disruptive to neighboring houses and/or guests outnumbering the maximum amount permitted as defined above. A party will result in an immediate eviction from the property with no refund given under any circumstance. Any exceptions to this policy must be approved by iTrip Vacations Hollywood in writing prior to the arrival date.

NEIGHBOR COMPLAINTS

Actions by guests that result in neighbor complaints or police being called to the Property will result in a minimum $250 charge, which charge will be used to deal with legal issues and fines.

NOISE ORDINANCE: 10 pm – 7 am.

Please be mindful of our neighbors during your stay. The property's quiet hours are in place to ensure that you and our whole community can enjoy a restful night's sleep. We are dedicated to protecting our guests and neighbors from bothersome levels of noise.

Please Keep All Gates Closed at all times to avoid Owner's dogs from escaping.

No Parking in the Owner's Driveway

The roads up in the Hollywood Hills are very narrow, please park close to curb so other vehicles can pass. No garage access.

Perfect Pocket in Hollywood Hills

Stayed here with my two friends and we really enjoyed our stay overall. Other reviewers say the hot water was an issue at the time of their stay, but as of OUR stay (August 2023) taking hot showers was not a problem. The shower's water pressure is also really great. Beds were comfy enough, but not something we focused on as we were out almost all day for the full week. Parking was always available right outside the house on the curved hill, which was a huge plus for us. The apartment is supplied with everything you could need: smart TV, paper towels, microwave, fridge, even a tea kettle. Loved the location as well, some may not as it's in a quiet neighborhood and not central per se, but the escape of it all feels nice and quaint (and it's only a 5-20 minute drive everywhere). The apartment has its own private entrance, the garden and views are beautiful, and the owner was very sweet when we did get to see her. Only thing I would note is we had no idea how to lock the door on the way out and the windows could use updated black out shades because light in the morning will definitely wake you up too early.

The property was very clean, larger than we expected, and had such a nice atmosphere that sometimes it was hard to leave the premises to get our day started. The owner does have a little dog that barked at us every day whenever we were coming or going but we laughed about it. Actually, the dog became an extra attraction. One thing that could be improved upon is the mattress. It was not comfortable; too soft and dipped in the center. Not the best for those with back issues. Overall, we enjoyed our stay in this property that was close to many LA attractions but was also an attraction itself! We enjoyed the stunning views and awesome architecture of the dwellings in the Hollywood Hills.

The Secret Steps -- Hollywoodland -- Great Place!!

I stayed in The Secret Steps in Hollywoodland with my two twenty-something-year-old sons (I am in my mid-50s). The place was PERFECT for us! The arrangement of the rooms is a bit unconventional with the entry room serving as a kitchen, dining room, and master bedroom. The next room is the bathroom (which has amazing water pressure for a great shower). And, past the bathroom, there is a separate TV room that sleeps 2. So, to go from the TV room to the kitchen, one had to go through the bathroom. It worked out fine for us, but it is a bit different. The location of the house is amazing with stunning views of downtown Los Angeles. And the property itself is beautiful with plants, flowers, and decorative objects. We easily walked to the Hollywood sign. We could have easily hiked to the Griffity Observatory (which one can see from the room). I enjoyed exploring the winding neighborhood streets with the beautiful homes. I highly recommend the location.

Hollywood Hills-Beachwood Apartment

Overall a great place to stay but a couple of items I feel need to be addressed. The hot water takes an extremely long time to "kick" on in the shower; we're talking a good 3 minutes before it warms up. Also, the entry door to the apartment has blind slats completely missing which means there is a lack of privacy for the person who is sleeping in the main area. The porch light stays on all night (no way for the guest to turn it off) and with the flimsy blinds at the door, with the missing slats, means the room doesn't get dark during the night hours. The location was fantastic; parking is a bit tricky on the windy road but we never had a problem parking right next to the property. Apartment was clean with good airflow. We loved there was a market and cafe right at the bottom of the hill we could walk to using the Secret Stairs. The owner's small dogs do a lot of running around and barking during the day so just be aware of that if you are trying to work or take a snooze.

We arrived super late so we did not really get to see our surroundings until the morning. But man when we did, what a view!!!! The stay was just as shown and was perfect for my husband, daughter and I. Soooo close to the Hollywood sign. We walked down the staircase each morning and had breakfast at the Beachwood Cafe, it is delicious and then hiked it back up the stairs. The roads are SUPER windy but I think it just adds to the charm. We did have a little power outage but the host was super attentive and fixed it right away. If/when we go back to LA I hope that this place is available?

What an amazing view. The view and location were perfect to explore LA, Hollywood and Santa Monica. The space has the amenities we needed and our on sight host was wonderful. While parking appears tough it’s much easier than it looks.

Fun Place to Stay in LA

We enjoyed our stay at Secret Stairs. It was such a fun and unique experience just driving up to it in Hollywoodland!! So cool to be just a short hike from the famous Hollywood sign! The views from the lower suite we stayed in were spectacular of the city lights and surrounding areas. The gardens were around the home were also very lovely! It’s a pretty cute little suite, albeit a little makeshift, but it had pretty much everything we needed as well as an extra room and bed for our daughter who joined us for a few nights. There were a couple times the power went out but both times it was restored fairly shortly after our communication with the property managers. The sound from the people above carried down quite a bit and particularly one evening after midnight just before falling asleep there was quite a bit of loud talking or tv and some banging around that was a bit alarming. There was an air conditioner/fan that managed to drown it out somewhat. When I finally turned it off to find out what was going on, the noises subsided. Other than that, no issues and we enjoyed our stay at this “quintessential” LA/Hollywood home!
