Welcome to System Shutdown, an oceanfront retreat that offers relaxation, adventure, and comfort. Located on the shores of Kure Beach, this charming 5-bedroom, 3.5-bathroom home is designed for families and groups seeking an unforgettable beach getaway. With breathtaking ocean views, refreshing ocean breezes, and direct access to the sand, this is the ideal place to unplug and unwind.

This home is tastefully decorated and thoughtfully equipped for comfort and convenience. With comfy Sealy mattresses in every room, you'll sleep soundly after a day of fun in the sun. The spacious layout offers a game room, multiple living areas, and three levels of outdoor decks, all designed to take advantage of the beautiful coast. The main deck is perfect for outdoor dining, lounging, or enjoying the view. With room for up to 14 guests, including 3-4 kids, there's plenty of space. Linens and towels are included in the cleaning fee, so no need to worry about extra charges.

Outside, the fun continues with private beach access, an outdoor shower, a propane grill, and plenty of beach toys and games for the whole family. Parking can accommodate 3-5 vehicles, so you’ll have space for everyone’s cars—or your boat! Pets are welcome, so bring your furry friends along for the trip! *This is a DOG FRIENDLY HOME: A non-refundable Pet fee of $250 will be added to your rental if you choose to bring your dog. For 2 Dogs the Pet Fee is $350

*Maximum Occupancy: 14 Occupants - Children must be counted within the maximum occupancy unless they are under the age of two (2) and are sleeping in a crib.

*Tenant Requirements: Tenant stated on the Agreement/Booking must be at least twenty-five (25) years of age, and acknowledge that they will occupy the Property during the entire tenancy.

*Manager and owner of the rental property are not responsible for citations received while staying at the property.

*Be respectful of the house and contents - it is someone's home. Respect the neighbors and neighborhood.

*No events or parties- If determined that a party/event is taking place at property, management has the right to evict tenants and guests with no refund given.

*If determined that a party took place on any of the nights reserved, reservation guest will be charged $500, no exceptions!

iTrip NC Beaches Cancellation Policy

North Carolina Beaches

Cancellation 60 days or more before your stay will receive a refund less the cancellation fee of $350. Cancellation 60 days or less before your stay will not receive a refund unless the same dates are re-booked. If that occurs you will receive a refund less the cancellation fee of $350. Additional details with regards to cancellation policies and procedures may be found in Section #15 of the Rental Agreement as provided at checkout.

We loved everything about this house - plenty of room to spread out, beach in our backyard, great location within a 5 minute drive of everything we wanted to do. Our favorite spot was the deck with plenty of chairs that could be used to sit in the sun or in the shade. Our family had the best time! Vacationing with six children ages 9 months to 7 years old can be challenging but this house and location had something for everybody. We had forgotten to bring one of the pack and plays and we're ecstatic to find one at the house as well as a portable high chair and age appropriate toys. We can't wait to go back!

Last week was the third annual get-together with a close circle of friends at System Shutdown, a lovely ocean-front house in Kure Beach. Since last year, the porch was extended quite a bit, giving much more space to hang out and move around. As usual, the house provided everything we needed for our comfort and enjoyment -- plenty of bedrooms and beds, beautiful ocean views, a well-stocked kitchen, bathrooms on each of the three floors, comfortable living and dining room furniture. It is clean, neat, and nicely decorated. The folks at iTrip are easy to reach and respond right away to questions. All the necessary info was delivered in a timely manner. We have only good things to say about System Shutdown and the folks at iTrip.

We really enjoyed our vacation home, System Shutdown! The house was clean and comfortable. This is a three story house. Keep that in mind if someone in your party cannot walk up stairs. Our favorite place to relax was the beautiful new deck facing the beach. The deck furniture is also new. We grilled out burgers one evening on the grill. The grill was clean and worked great! The kitchen had everything we needed and the appliances were nice and worked well. We had two issues and the management had them addressed by the end of the day. The communication with the management of this property is a 5 star on customer service! We appreciate that so much! Thank you!

Our experience was outstanding. The beach/surf have been so enjoyable and SO PRIVATE. It's so great that the house has 2 umbrellas and sufficient chairs to use at the beach. The A/C works well - which is needed this week! The furnishings are newer and robust. The beds are newer and comfortable. The appliances are great. We have 3 generations here and it has been outstanding for all involved.

Beautiful weather, awesome deck, nice grill, plenty of beds and space for the family. My only negative is the AC didn’t cool downstairs living area very well. We did have a couple concerns and questions for the realtor and he was very responsive.

We really enjoyed being able to spread out & relax in this lovely ocean-front home for our annual family trip to Kure Beach. With 3 children under 8, the bedroom & bath situation was ideal for our family that included 3 couples. It appeared the deck had been recently expanded and while we were there, a new set of patio furniture was delivered to add to the awesome outdoor furniture already in place. (Hopefully the deck construction debris on both sides of the property will be cleaned up soon.) There are several Tommy Bahama beach chairs in the storage room of the house along with boogie boards & beach toys and that was such a nice convenience for our family. I really like to cook and there are a few things missing from the kitchen that would have been helpful: a muffin pan, an ice cream scoop, a pizza cutter, rubber spatulas, & a drain pan for the dish drainer. The description of the house specifically states there is not a Keurig coffee maker in the kitchen, but there is indeed a single serve Keurig as well as a nice 14-cup drip coffee maker that uses cone filters. The ground level bedrooms are stuffy as well as the upstairs bedrooms because there is only one HVAC unit for this 3 story house - no zones. We were thankful for the ceiling fans to move air around. It would be nice if there were spare lightbulbs in the house & I mentioned that when we vacated. We enjoy surf fishing and caught 20 “keepers” during our vacation which included pompano, whiting, blues & croakers. We also caught several flounder that are out of season & were too small so we obediently returned them to the ocean. (Maybe a fish-cleaning table could be added using the left-over deck wood?) I will end my comments by saying our family really really loved this property and we would highly recommend it. We have been vacationing up and down the coast of NC for over 40 years and this property is definitely one of our favorites!

System Shutdown was fantastic. The house was very comfortable for our party of 7. There was plenty of space to visit and relax. The location (right on the beach) was fantastic. And the wonderful outdoor decks solved the only problem we had, which was weather-related - the wind blew so hard we could not spend much time on the beach. The decks provided GREAT views of the beach, allowed us to hear the waves, gave great access to the sun, and provided relief from the flying sand. It was a great experience. We are already talking about going back to System Shutdown in 2024!

We have rented this house for two years now and plan to make it three—will be reserving again tomorrow for next year. The home is clean, spacious, has a beautiful view, east walk down to beach on the home’s private walkway. We are a group of 10 friends—mostly from North Carolina—and fit comfortably in this house. This year I texted iTrip when we found one shower had no hot water. They responded quickly, checked it out, sent a plumber who quickly fixed it. We really appreciated the fast response and courtesy of the iTrip staff. I/We highly recommend booking with iTrip and the Systemshutdown house. Just don’t book on our yearly weekend date ?. We love this house!

This is a wonderful home to celebrate Family milestones. We had never been in this area and it was fun to explore. The characters were the parents, daughter and boyfriend with dog, and son, wife and 19 month old. The space was perfect. It looks just like the pictures but being in the space is even better. There were plenty of toys for a two year old, , beach toys, and chairs .The kitchen is well stocked. Going in October was great, quiet during the week and a bit busier on the weekend. We so lucked out on beautiful weather. The hosts were responsive with any questions. The best part was the view and easy access to the beach.

Thank you to Itrip for the communication and the extra attention to issues that arose. First of all 2 days before we were to arrive the management team called to inform us of a problem with a leak in a bedroom downstairs, but they were on it and doing everything possible so as not to interrupt our stay. Very thoughtful. Also when we arrived the fridge had overwhelming fish smell that we just weren’t able to clean out. Presumably prior guest had fresh seafood that had leaked into bottom of fridge. I altered the team by text and within 15 min someone was there with baking soda and cleaned the fridge as best they could. They also brought an Okcra cooler filled with ice for my daughter to store her breast milk in so it wouldn’t smell of fish. Again very thoughtful. The team really does try and take care of things right away when a problem arises. As for the property, it is perfect for multiple families. The bottom floor was great for toddlers coming in off the beach to use the restroom. We didn’t use the gaming room but it would be fun for teenagers and let them get away. The main floor and the top floor has expansive views of the beach. The beds were all comfy and the linens were very clean. The whole house was very clean, especially with little ones playing on the floor. The toys for the kiddos was an added bonus! And they have 2 pack n plays as well as baby gates and two booster seats. Also the kitchen is well equipped and had things like seasoning, trash bags and aluminum foil. Before you head to the grocery store, check out what is available at the house first, it could save you money! And the beach toys, chairs were so nice! Just a note to upcoming guest the kitchen/living area is on the second floor with a half bath and the bedrooms are on the lower and top floor with lots of steps. We had little ones and a new baby and it wasn’t a problem for us . Actually nice to retreat to your bedrooms at night or put kids to bed and have some adult time in the living area. Lots of seating available inside and out! Oh yeah lots of board games for all ages! The only thing that I would suggest to add to this house for a little more comfort would be lamps for all of the bedrooms. Several of them did not have lamps and it would be a nice added touch, especially with children and for reading at night. Other than that it’s a perfect family home that is well decorated and the distance to the beach is a short walk. Thanks again to the management team!

We had the most amazing time at this beach house. The house fit all 13 of us perfectly, had everything we could ever need, and had the most picture perfect view of the ocean. The hosts were super responsive and very accommodating. I would without a doubt stay here again!

We just stayed at this house and we absolutely loved it! Beach access right off the deck was even better! The house itself had alot of room and we never felt crowded with 9 adults! The house was very clean and communication with the owners was easy! Would absolutely consider staying here again in the future!

We thoroughly enjoyed our vacation at System Shutdown. The view from the house and the porches was amazing. The kitchen and laundry area were functional and made the stay easy. The bedrooms and bathrooms were spacious and comfortable. Very convenient location to a variety of activities, restaurants, etc. Our teenagers enjoyed Fort Fisher, the boardwalk, and ice cream shops nearby.

The shower fixtures on upstairs baths were loose and wobbly. It seemed not quite as up to date as the pictures showed. But otherwise it was a beautiful location, excellent beach, nice decks, sand toys and beach chairs were super nice to have. We really enjoyed our stay here.

A group of friends and I took a trip from Pittsburgh to this beautiful beach house. So much fun was had by all. It was my third time visiting, one of my friend’s second time and the others first time. Each time I visit it gets better. The house features wonderful amenities, numerous options for activities in the area, as well as spectacular views from sunrises and beautiful stars at night, to dolphins breaching the serene, captivating ocean waves. System Shutdown was the perfect getaway for our family! The house was clean, well appointed, and provided everything we needed for a winter getaway. The views from the house (2 floors) exceeded expectations! We say dolphins from the windows on 2 separate days! The walk to the beach was peaceful and easy on our private boardwalk and the beach itself was beautiful. I highly recommend this property!!!

The location of this rental is 5*. The amenities are 5*. The communication with the management company is 5*. The floor plan and number of beds are 5*. Our family stayed for 11 wonderful days and we had plenty of space for everyone. The beds were very comfortable. The recommendation for upgrades would be the couches in the living room on the porch. They sag and are not that comfortable. The porches and walkway boards show wear. The table on the deck is questionable but with a tablecloth it hides all imperfections.

System Shutdown was the perfect place for our family get together. Views from the 2nd and 3rd level are stunning, and covered patio was a favorite spot to gather. Bedrooms were a bit warm and we had to bring in fans to stay cool. Overall we enjoyed being steps from the beach. . . and beautiful sunrises. Would definitely stay again!

We just finished up a weekend at system shutdown and wow. I have never stayed somewhere so comfortable or well appointed! Anything we needed they had, everything was in amazing condition, the house itself is beautiful and spacious. You can tell the owners and management company take pride in the property and really want to provide a stellar experience for the guests. It also doesn’t hurt that you’re about 30 feet from a stunning beach and walking distance to great bars and restaurants. My kids, in laws, husband and I all loved it!! Over the years, I have stayed at multiple rental properties. Not a single one felt like home like this wonderful place did. The house is beautiful, the kitchen has everything you could possibly dream of and the views were breathtaking! Kure Beach is a gem and we were far enough away for privacy, but close enough for all activities. I did not want to leave.

This has been a wonderful trip! The house is spacious, nicely decorated, with many thoughtful extras. The views from both decks are amazing. We could feel the pressure drop from our shoulders as soon as we got here. The folks at iTrip were responsive, organized and helped make our trip experience better. They’re a family owned rental property company and it seemed like they really cared about the guest experience, which we really appreciated. I would definitely book this spot again!

The property is great. You cannot beat the views. All the french doors, windows, and patios on each level allow you to feel like you're on the beach but in the comfort of your home. The beach is a few steps away. The outdoor shower allows you to easily keep the rental clean throughout the duration of your stay! Would highly recommend this property!

The house is great and has plenty of room for a large family or 2-3 smaller families. The views are great from all floors but spectacular from the 2nd and third floors (the 2nd floor is where the main living and kitchen area is). Everything was very clean, kitchen was well-stock with everything you need for cooking and the beach is just steps off the back deck. Nice and quiet in January for a relaxing long weekend away. Weather is obviously on the cooler side but not perfect for walks on the beach in long sleeves.

This is a very bold statement to stay considering I feel as if I am professional when it comes to beach homes-but renting System Shutdown in Kure Beach was simply perfection. I do have to say that I am not one to rent through an agency as I’d like to go to work with me owner however in this case I decided to give it a try. Imediate response from agency after online search. Answered questions quickly. Easy process to reserve. Now on it the house. Exactly as description. House even cuter in person. This house had every single thing one would need on vacation. Dishes cookware utensils blender great size coffee mugs margarita glasses ice packs in freezer Tupperware, games blankets cozy seating inside and great outdoor decks to stare out a yeh ocean. Entire house setup made it easy for us to social distance during covid-19. Bedrooms were small but big enough. TVS is each bedroom we’re small but didn’t matter, never turned them on. Bath towels galore, beach towels In closet. Beach chairs bikes I could go on and on... oh I can’t forget about the shower wash shampoo and conditioner that was build into shower walls! They smelled like a spa flavor! The only thing I can think of that was missing was martini glasses champagne glasses and kitchen towels. Beds were on the soft side, so keep that in mind if you don’t sleep well with soft tops. I will 100 percent rent this house again and will go through ITrip again!

Great Location! Close to Kure Pier, Kure Beach Diner and Jack Mackerels which are all places you should visit. The house is a short walk from the beach on a wooden deck with shower and bench. Owners even have a chair for those that need a break to shit down and remove shoes or get a breath. Covered porch with sofa, chair, table and gas grill for lots of outdoor entertaining. The bedrooms are setup perfect for a family gathering. Lower level has bunk beds and very comfortable Queen in basement. Upper Level has 2 bedrooms with deck overlooking the ocean and 1 bedroom with full bunch beds. Master bed was very comfortable. All the linens were provided in each room with embroider towels for each person. The bedding was clean, comfy, cozy, soft and lots of extras in the closets. kitchen was well stocked with all kinds of kitchen gadgets and platters for cooking for family gathering. We were concerned about parking from the pictures but it actually worked out perfect to get 3 rows of 2 cars. One other thing I will mention the house next door is very close however it does not feel like it from the deck because it's low and deck is in front of the house so it was perfect for us. We did have to supply our own gas from the grill so keep that in mind when at the grocery store so you don't have to run back like we did .We would love to come back another time and definitely work with ITrip Vacations.

We had an amazing week. The house is nice and spacious. Plenty of room to spread out for a large family. The beach location is great. The kitchen could use some sort of storage for snacks and such that are brought since there is no pantry area. A large family fills up the trash cans outside really fast since the trash is only picked up on Monday’s. Some houses had multiple containers this one only had one. The house is great and we would definitely stay in it again.

A wonderful house, lots is space! Appreciate the spices and such. The place feels welcoming. The view is great. Mattresses worked ok for lighter people but were harder on larger ones. The iTrip people were very responsive and helpful.

This was a great house for our family of 6 adults and 2 small children. They had all of the child accessories so we didn't have to travel with anything - baby gates, pack-n-plays, a booster seat and lots of toys and games. The view and location were great. We spent most of our days on the beach or driving to nearby attractions such as Bald Head Island and Wilmington. The only thing I would have done differently is to pack a beach sail tent for shade instead of trying to use the beach umbrellas. It was mildly windy when we were there so the umbrellas kept blowing away and then it was too hot to be out long without shade or being in the water. The kitchen was well-equipped and the outdoor space was also amazing to enjoy the evenings.

If you are looking to go to the beach and forget all your troubles, this is your place. What really impressed me were the details and accessories provided. We really only needed to bring clothes and go to the grocery store for food. Beach towels, house linens, toys, high chair, beach gear, shampoo, conditioner, makeup remover wipes, etc were all provided! We worried about nothing! Also, the beach in front of the house was so secluded! It was awesome!

We are enjoying our stay at System Shutdown. Though the name of the house leaves something to be desired, the house and view do not! We have two grandparents, their two children and spouses, and two grandchildren staying here. The home is a great size for these three generations. I cannot say enough good things about iTrip and about our stay. This house was perfect for us. It was incredibly clean, smelled great, linens and beds were top notch and super comfortable, kitchen was well stocked and there were so many helpful extras - great beach towels, sun screen, brand new pack n play, a few toys and books for kids, sound machine, high chair. The furniture was comfortable, well appointed, and clean. The location could not be better. The views are amazing, from both porches. You are steps from a gorgeous uncrowded beach that has a lifeguard for most of the day. The beach was clean, decent waves, and not overly "shelly". The neighborhood and street are clean, attractive, and quiet; close to the Kure beach pier and there are several great places to eat right nearby. We will definitely be renting this property again, it was a renters dream!

Thoroughly enjoyed our week (July 6-13) at System Shutdown. Check-in procedure was very easy and house was properly cleaned when we arrived. House was very well-equipped and had plenty of room for our group of 6 adults and 3 children. Front row location and outdoor shower were very convenient for beach activities. Suggestions for improvement: king mattress needs to be replaced and many porch/deck nails were protruding (we found a hammer and fixed most of them). On Friday we noticed small ants entering through the electrical outlets in the kitchen area, even though we tried to keep this area very clean. Would definitely rent this house again!
