Old World Chalet, Dog Friendly with Fee
About
Welcome to Parkside Chalet
Some places just feel different the moment you arrive. Parkside Chalet is one of them.
This warm, character-filled retreat — exposed logs, open beams, and a brick fireplace with a history of its own — is tucked against Palmer Park, one of Colorado Springs' most beloved natural treasures. Step off the back patio and you're instantly on the trails. Sandstone formations, sweeping views, and miles of paths for hiking, trail running, and mountain biking are literally out your back door.
The Chalet occupies the main floor of a two-story home. The lower level is a private owner's suite, so your group has the run of the place — your own space, your own pace, your own Colorado.
A Home With a Real Story
Parkside Chalet began as the owner's childhood family home, lovingly designed by his mother and inspired by a storied 1860s stagecoach stop that became the legendary Ski Tip Lodge near Keystone. You'll feel that history the moment you walk in — rough-hewn logs overhead, open beams catching the light, and a commanding brick fireplace whose mantle once graced the fireplace of one of the early settlers of Colorado Springs. Light the fire, pour something warm, and let the evening settle in. There is nowhere else you'll want to be.
This isn't a decorated rental. It's a home that has been lived in, loved, and passed down — and now it's yours for a while.
The Meadow
Out front, something quietly extraordinary is stirring. The owner and a dedicated organic gardener are transforming part of the property into a native habitat preserve — a living sanctuary for the pollinators, wildflowers, and wildlife that have always belonged to this corner of Colorado. An antique bench beneath a Linden tree faces east into the morning light, waiting for whoever needs a moment to breathe. Follow the journey at parksidepollinators.com.
Come for the trails. Stay for the warmth of this delightful piece of Colorado history. Leave wondering how soon you can come back.
