Wake up to Canoe Brook, a private lakeside home. Enjoy coffee on the screened porch, and end the day in an Adirondack chair by the water.
3-bedroom, 2.5-bath peaceful lakeside retreat. Designed to comfortably sleep up to 8 guests, the home offers something especially valuable for families and groups traveling together: two distinct living areas and two kitchens. The main level serves as the heart of the home, with a fully stocked kitchen, comfortable gathering spaces, two lake-facing bedrooms, and a wonderful screened-in porch overlooking the peaceful surroundings. Downstairs, the lower level feels almost like a retreat of its own, with a second kitchen, living room, full bathroom, patio access, and a private bedroom.
Outside, follow the walkway down toward the lake, grab a canoe and life jacket, or settle into an Adirondack chair by the water and enjoy the quiet.
Whether you're planning a family getaway, traveling with multiple generations, visiting friends or relatives in Fairfield County, or simply looking for a peaceful escape, Canoe Brook Cottage gives everyone room to gather and room to spread out.
THE SPACE
Canoe Brook Cottage offers two levels of living space, making it especially comfortable for families, couples, and multigenerational stays.
MAIN LEVEL

The screened porch is one of our favorite spaces in the home, perfect for morning coffee, casual meals, afternoon reading or lingering conversations while enjoying the fresh air and lake setting.
LOWER LEVEL
The lower level offers additional privacy and functions much like a self-contained living space while remaining part of the home.- Second kitchen

Crisp cotton bed linens, bath towels and separate lake towels are provided.

TWO KITCHENS
Two fully equipped kitchens give larger and multigenerational groups added flexibility throughout their stay.
The main kitchen serves as the heart of the home, while the lower-level kitchen provides a second place to prepare meals, snacks and morning coffee. The lower kitchen includes a mini refrigerator.

Canoes are provided for guest use along with adult and children's life jackets.
Spend the morning paddling, try your hand at fishing, relax by the water, or simply enjoy having nowhere you need to be.
LOCATION
Conveniently located in Trumbull in the heart of Fairfield County, Canoe Brook Cottage offers the peaceful feeling of a lake getaway without putting you far from restaurants, shopping, parks and surrounding communities.
It's an ideal home base for a dedicated Connecticut getaway, visiting family and friends, college visits, business travel or simply enjoying a few quieter days by the water.
PETS CONSIDERED (Max 1 pet)
PRIOR APPROVAL REQUIRED before booking
- Approved pets incur a $25/night pet accommodation fee, charged after booking
- Unauthorized pets are subject to a minimum $500 fe.
- Pets not permitted on furniture
- Pets must be crated if left unattended
- Please clean up after pets & report any “accidents” prior to departure
PLEASE NOTE:
- A ramp and walkway lead from the house toward the lake. The ramp is not ADA compliant or designated as handicap accessible
- Children must be supervised around the lake and waterfront areas
- Life jackets should be worn when using the canoes
- Canoe Brook Cottage is located in a peaceful residential lake community. Please be respectful of our neighbors and observe quiet hours

- Reservations made under false or misleading information may be canceled without refund

- This home is located in a quiet residential area. Guests are expected to respect the property, follow house rules, and be considerate of neighbors at all times

ITEMS LEFT ON PROPERTY
Any items left that a guest wishes to be returned and shipped will incur a fee.
AUTHORIZED PETS ONLY
Pets are allowed with prior authorization; guests must inform us of any pets before arrival. An additional pet fee of $25 per approved pet per day applies after booking (rates negotiable for stays longer than 5 days). Pets are not permitted on furniture or beds. Pets must never be left alone in the home unless crated. Owners are responsible for cleaning up after their pets. A min. charge for $250 will be applied to bookings with unauthorized pets.
We require at least one party member to be 25 (twenty-five) years of age!
FALSIFIED RESERVATION
Any reservation obtained under false pretense will be subject to forfeiture of the reservation deposit, damage deposit, and/or balance of rental payment.
UTILITIES
No compensation will be given for the temporary outage of electricity, gas, water, cable, or telephone service. Outages will be reported immediately and all efforts will be made to restore them as soon as possible.
NONSMOKING UNIT
Smoking is strictly prohibited. Your damage deposit will be forfeited and you will incur an additional charge for carpet cleaning and deodorizing if any evidence of smoking is found.
NO PARTIES or ILLEGAL ACTIVITY
ENTRY BY OWNER
Owner or owner's agents may enter the premises under the following circumstances: in case of an emergency; to make any necessary or agreed-upon repairs, alterations, or improvements; supply necessary or agreed-upon services or show the premises to prospective purchasers, renters, or contractors. The owner will provide the renter with at least 24 hours' notice of the Owner's intent to enter (except in the case of an emergency).
SLEEPING CAPACITY/DISTURBANCES
The maximum number of guests allowed is 8. Violations of our noise or the maximum number of guests agreed to at the time of booking will result in possible fines or immediate eviction with all loss of all rent. Depending on the severity of a noise situation, we may call and issue a warning or proceed with a $300 fine. If we cannot reach the guest who booked the property, someone will show up to, at a minimum, issue a $300 fine and/or evict the entire group immediately. Any delay will result in us involving the authorities and trespassing every person on the property as well as the loss of all rent. Additional fines or damages may be assessed after removal.
PARKING
There is parking for 4 cars. There is NO street parking.
HOLD HARMLESS
iTrip or the Owner does not assume liability for loss, damage, or injury to persons or personal property. Neither does the owner accept any liability for any inconveniences, damage, loss, or injury arising from any temporary defects or stoppage in the supply of water, gas, cable service, electricity, or plumbing, as well as due to weather conditions, natural disasters, acts of God, or other reasons beyond its control.
MAINTENANCE
Report any maintenance needs for the premises to us, and we will respond as quickly as possible. Refunds will not be made for maintenance issues including, but not limited to, heating and air conditioning, appliances, televisions, and stereos.
LINENS/TOWELS/SUPPLIES
Any lost or damaged linens will be deducted from your deposit or automatically billed to the card you used. We recommend that you bring any special items that you may need.
SECURITY CAMERAS
There are RING cameras on the front door. RING is used to monitor the exterior of the home and does not face any of the common outdoor living spaces. There are no cameras inside the home.
FIREPIT
The fire pit is available for guest use at their discretion. Guest must provide their own firewood; none is provided. Fires must be attended to at all times and extinguished when no longer in use.
FIREPLACE
They are not operational for guests.
LAKE
Swimming in the lake is permitted but entirely at your own risk. Please exercise caution and be responsible for your safety while enjoying the lake. By choosing to swim, you acknowledge that you do so at your own risk. Any paddleboards, kayaks and/or lifejackets used must be returned to its original location. Guests can access and exit the water only from the area directly in front of the house. Please do not exit kayaks or go ashore anywhere else along the lake, including areas that may look like sandy beaches. These areas are private property and are not available for guest use.
ADDITIONAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS
The undersigned Tenant, for himself/herself, his/her heirs, assignors, executors, and administrators, fully releases and discharges Owner from any and all liabilities, claims, demands, and causes of action by reason of any injury, loss, or damage by whatever nature which has or have occurred, or may occur to the undersigned, or any of his/her guests as a result, or in connection with the occupancy of the premises and agrees to hold Owner free and harmless of any claim or suit arising therefrom. In any action concerning the rights, duties, or liabilities of the parties to this agreement, their principals, agents, successors, or assignees the prevailing party shall be entitled to recover any reasonable attorneys fees and costs. Owner reserves the right to terminate this Agreement at their discretion at any time.
