☆☆ BEDROOMS ☆☆
All three bedrooms are upstairs and share the full bathroom on that floor.
Bedroom 1: A king bed with a tall tufted headboard sits between two windows, with soft carpet underfoot, a rattan front dresser and a full length mirror for getting ready. Warm mauve walls and a lamp on each side make it an easy room to wind down in.
Bedroom 2: A second king bed with a channel tufted headboard, crisp white bedding and a tall dresser with room to unpack. A small glass bistro table and chair by the window is a good spot for morning coffee or a few emails.
Bedroom 3: The bunk room has a twin over twin metal bunk with guard rails and a ladder, a bright floor lamp and a cushioned lounge chair in the corner. Kids claim it first every time.
☆☆ BATHROOMS ☆☆
The upstairs full bathroom has a tub and shower combination, a glass vessel sink on a dark vanity and marble look tile. Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap, fresh towels and a makeup towel are all stocked and waiting for you. Downstairs, a half bath off the main floor keeps the morning line moving when everyone is getting out the door at once.
☆☆ KITCHEN & RELAXING AREAS ☆☆
The kitchen is set up to actually cook in. Dark shaker cabinets, granite counters and a tiled backsplash, with an electric range and oven, a dishwasher, an over range microwave and a full size side by side refrigerator with water and ice in the door. Cookware, dishes, glassware, utensils, cutting boards and basic spices are all here. The coffee station brews a full carafe or a single cup, with pods, tea and mugs on the shelf above.
Dinner happens in the cobalt blue dining room at a table for four, with extra seating close by and French doors that open straight onto the deck. There is a sign on the wall that reads family gathers here, and the room earns it.
The living room is the soft landing at the end of the day. A roomy leather sofa and a plush sherpa chair face a smart TV mounted above the brick electric fireplace, with a ceiling fan overhead and a big area rug tying it together. The built in cabinet holds Jenga, card games and puzzles, and a gold bar cart stocked with cocktail tools stands ready for the evening.
☆☆ OUTSIDE SPACE ☆☆
Mornings belong on the covered front porch, where a swing with heart cutouts hangs beside a wicker loveseat. Out back, the deck off the dining room has a gas grill, cushioned wicker chairs with a side table and a hanging macrame chair that is hard to give up once you are in it. Steps lead down to the fenced backyard, where a picnic table is set for burgers and long summer evenings.
Park in the detached garage or out front on the street, whichever is easier when you pull in.
You are close to the Allegheny riverfront and Tarentum Riverview Memorial Park for river access and an easy walk. Tour-Ed Mine and Museum takes you underground on a real coal mine tour, and the Pittsburgh Brewing Company taproom in Creighton pours Iron City where it is made, and runs brewery tours worth checking their website for before you go. Downtown Pittsburgh is roughly a half hour drive when you want the stadiums, the Cultural District or a night out.
