Monarch Gardens is a beautiful private hideaway, ideal for couples, and within close walking and biking proximity of the Old City, the beach, and numerous restaurants, bars and attractions. Nestled in your own large, privacy fence lined lawn and gardens, the cottage is newly refinished and updated with hardwood bamboo and travertine floors, modern amenities, and pleasing, comfortable furnishings. Two furnished patios and a hammock draw you to the outdoors to observe the variety of plant and tree species, birds and butterflies on the property. The owner of the cottage who lives next door is a gardening enthusiast who loves drawing the monarch butterflies to her landscape for guests to enjoy. You will feel at ease in this safe and quiet neighborhood which is located along the Matanzas River and just next to The Lion's Bridge. Bikes are provided for an active way to take in St. Augustine and the surrounding neighborhood.
This one-bedroom cottage has a spacious and beautifully decorated living area with cozy seating space, dining table, large-screen TV, and plenty of natural light coming in through the windows and french doors which open out onto a sitting patio and the backyard. The sofa opens to a queen size bed to sleep an additional two people. The cute kitchen is fully furnished and stocked with dishes, utensils and cooking accessories. Enjoy plush towels in the bath which is outfitted with a tub shower combo, and rest comfortably in the queen size bed in the step-down bedroom which also has plenty of closet and chest space for storage of your personal items. The side patio is an additional outdoor space to enjoy a cup of coffee in the mornings.
Monarch Gardens is an easy half-mile walk over the iconic Bridge of Lions right into the center of the Historic District where you can explore the history of oldest European settlement in America and also some of the newest trends in dining. You will appreciate the close proximity to area attractions such as St. Augustine Lighthouse and Maritime Museum, The Alligator Farm, the beach at Anastasia State Park, and The St. Augustine Ampitheatre all within 1.5 miles of the Cottage!
