Wonderful Autumn Getaway
5/5 stars
My husband and I rented this house for a long weekend away and it was exactly what I wanted for a fall getaway! Everything was clean and cozy. The screened in porch was perfect and the location was so nice. Thank you for hosting such a great place.
- Emilie

Hi Emilie, We are so elated to hear how much you enjoyed your stay with us at Hounds Nest. We just love how wonderful of a job our cleaners do to ensure the property is clean and welcoming for all of our guests. It is such a perfect spot to stay when you want to get away from it all for a little bit and be one with nature. Didn't you love being so close to the lake and all the beautiful little rivers and creeks out there? We truly hope to see you again soon and appreciate all of your feedback!

We had a very relaxing stay. A very minor issue on the first evening but the management team got it resolved quickly. House was clean and well set up. We enjoyed the porch, outdoor fire-pit and got to explore the area. I would return.

Hounds Nest Rumney NH
5/5 stars
Beautiful clean well maintained cabin, perfect for a week stay in NH. Short walk to Stinson lake. Lake access very limited, small deck overlooking a very nice and clean lake, but no real shoreline to use. Small dock available which was nice but 2 boats moored there which took up most of the space. Parking at lake extremely limited so best to walk from cabin. We did enjoy bringing our lunches and relaxing on the deck at the lake which was nice . Washer & dryer in basement very convenient to use. Short drive to town for food & supplies if needed. House was well stocked when we arrived, BBQ grill available, and dog friendly which for us was a huge plus. Overall very pleasant stay in a nice quiet location which was what we wanted.

Fantastic stay at Hounds Nest
5/5 stars
This was our first trip to NH and we truly enjoyed it and Hounds Nest was the perfect choice for our stay. What a fantastic property and it is pet friendly (we brought our small dog along). The house is very "homey" and is equipped with everything you could possibly need. The house was super clean and beds were very comfortable. The house comes with towels for the week and a nice welcome gift of water and wine. Definitely a nice touch! The screened in porch is awesome to sit out at night and either have dinner or just relax. The porch could use some additional lighting but using some candles is actually nice. The home has a full basement with a washer and dryer which is also really nice. The basement was super clean and easily accessible through the doors at the front of the home. Plenty of parking too. The home also allows access to a shared, community dock which has a table, chairs and umbrella on it. It's a short walk down to the lake although it is a bit up and down with the hills, but that's just the nature of the area. I would highly recommend Hounds Nest to anyone looking to stay in the Rumney/Stinson Lake area. We already cannot wain until next summer so we can come back!

Cozy house neat the lake
5/5 stars
We enjoyed staying at this cozy house near Stinson Lake. The wood joinery and construction is amazing. The house had everything we needed which was helpful when there is not a supermarket near by. We appreciated seeing bottle waters, wine and coffee in the frig upon arrival. We did not bring our dog but like that we could.
- Grace
Very relaxing and quiet getaway!
5/5 stars
My husband and our hound dog, Molly, went to Hounds Nest for 5 days and had the best time! The post and beam house is beautiful!! Just the right size house! Very nicely stocked!! It was after Labor day so it wasn't as busy as it gets in the summer, which made it even better to sit down on the lake and have our cocktails. We will definitely recommend this property, and hope to go back!
- Jean
Cozy, clean and comfortable.
5/5 stars
This is a wonderful space to rest and recharge with family. I am impressed with the cleanliness and all of the little touches that we discovered during the stay. There were flashlights, a small bottle of wine in the fridge, ice cubes were made and ready as well as dish liquid, a brand new sponge in package and toiletries in the bathroom. Extra blankets and towels were available as well as a heating pad. There were board games and a fire pit as well. There is no seating by the fire pit so you may wish to bring some folding chairs to sit by the fire while you roast marshmallows. From the moment we got to Hounds Nest we felt comfortable. It is a lovely home away from home. We will definitely come again. I am almost afraid to give an honest review for fear that it will be booked the next time we want to visit and get away form the city.
