About

** Water's Edge is preparing to modernize their elevators with up-to-date electronics and hardware. This project entails replacing both elevator cars, which will be done one at a time. During this time there will be limited elevator access. The HOA estimates this project to be completed by late March, but "can" vary due to unforeseen circumstances. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.**

Enjoy a Penthouse View at 1BR Prices, with Waters Edge Luxury.

If you just need a one bedroom oceanfront condo but don't want to feel like you're staying in a phone booth, here's the choice for you. This spacious Waters Edge one bedroom has the same size living area as two and three bedroom units, along with two full bathrooms. From the ninth floor, the view is spectacular, spot the dolphins from the balcony or the sofa. Every vacation day begins and ends with the beauty of blue sky and golden sand and the soothing sound of ocean waves that you will enjoy from comfortable furnishings.

Waters Edge is a premium condo resort. There are large indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a hot tub, exercise facilities, a lounge, restaurant and convenience store, all on the premises. The elevator from the lobby provides excellent handicapped access. When you're ready to feel the soft warm sand between your toes, the Garden City beach is right out from the lobby.

The bedroom has a king size bed and a private bathroom. The sofa in the living room converts to queen size bed. The fully equipped kitchen includes a full size refrigerator, stove with oven, microwave, toaster, small appliances, pots, and pans. Dishes, glassware, and tableware are on hand. Linens are provided, beds will be made, some soap, paper towels and trash bags will be on hand. You will not begin your vacation by making beds or running to the store to get toilet paper!

Garden City is perfect for a family vacation or romantic getaway, away from the traffic and crowds, but still a short drive to attractions and over 100 golf courses. The Garden City Beach pier, restaurants and shops are .7 of a mile south from Waters Edge. The Surfside Beach pier, restaurants, bars, and shopping are a short drive (or a pleasant, longer walk) north. Just a few minutes south is the Murrells Inlet Restaurant Row, "the Seafood Capital of South Carolina". Luxury shopping and dining are a few minutes north in the Market Commons area. All the attractions, dining and shopping of Broadway at the Beach, Coastal Grand, and the Myrtle Beach downtown boardwalk are just a bit further north. For a unique cultural experience, Brookgreen Gardens displays one of the world's largest collections of sculpture by American artists in a lush outdoor setting, along with a zoo and butterfly garden. It's just a few minutes south.

The person renting this property must be at least 25 years old, have a valid credit card, and be present for the entire rental. Per HOA rules, we can provide ONE parking pass with this unit. This complex has an enclosed parking garage - OVERSIZE TRUCKS WILL NOT FIT IN THE PARKING GARAGE.

Frequently Asked Questions

In most cases, no.  If you find beach chairs or other beach items in the property, you are welcome to use them.  However, most owners advise that their beach chairs were left on the beach too often.
Pets are not permitted at many of our properties.  In most cases, HOA rules prohibited guests from bringing pets, even though owners are permitted to.  We have a few properties where we can consider allowing a small dog - NO cats.  The dog must be at least a year old, and weigh less than 30 pounds (two properties are limited to 20 pound dogs).  These are clearly marked "allows pets" and a non-refundable rent surcharge of $200 ($300 for two small dogs) is required.  Please contact us with information about your dog before booking a reservation - at which time we can approve your dog, add the animal surcharge to your reservation and collect said surcharge if you booked the property through a 3rd party affiliate.

Cancellation refunds are only made after (and if) the period is re-rented, less a $100 cancellation fee.  If you are concerned about needing to cancel please consider travel insurance; it covers cancellation for a wide range of reasons, along with many additional benefits.
Our check-in time is 4pm at our office. Approval for a late check in will be granted in EXTREMELY RARE CIRCUMSTANCES. If one is granted, the renter must return to the check-in office the following day before 2pm to complete the check-in process.  This includes the renter showing ID to confirm identity and that he/she meets the minimum age requirement. There will be a $100 charge if this is not completed.
The person renting any property must be 25 or older, have a valid credit card, and be present throughout the rental period.  The renter will be responsible for the actions of and damage caused by everyone in the group.  Any reservation obtained under false pretense will be subject to forfeiture of reservation deposit, damage deposit, and/or balance of rental payment.
WiFi internet access is provided in all of our properties.  Security and connection speed vary widely.  The HOA systems typically do not require a password.  If you have important business or financial matters to transact, consider bringing a mobile WiFi connection device of your own.  Connection speeds may not be fast enough to support streaming movies, music or video games.
Parking is limited at all oceanfront condominium complexes.  We can only provide the number of parking passes the HOA rules permit.  In most cases, no more than two parking passes can be provided.  We are limited to one parking pass per unit at Horizon East, Afterdeck, and for one and two bedroom units at Waters Edge.

There aren't any free public parking lots near the beach.  Surfside Beach has some metered parking along Ocean Boulevard and some lots.

The rental includes the parking passes available, but does not guarantee the availability of parking space.  Parking is managed by the property manager, we have no control over the parking lot or parking space.
For violation of any of the proceeding rules, tenant and all other occupants will be evicted according to South Carolina law with forfeiture of all monies.  In addition, outside of Airbnb rules and restrictions, all guests agree to the iTrip Vacations Myrtle Beach South Rental Agreement.
  • The reservation must be in the name of someone who is at least 25 years old. This person must also be in the rental the entire length of the stay. Any reservation obtained under false pretense will be subject to forfeiture of all monies paid.
  • Check-in is 4pm at our office. Approval for a late check in will be granted if notified in advance. If one is granted, the renter must return to the office next day to complete the check-in process.  This includes renter showing ID to confirm minimum age requirement. There will be a $100 charge if this is not completed.
  • PLEASE NOTE: if you are booking on Airbnb: Airbnb puts the Admin Fee, Limited Damage Waiver Fee, Cleaning & Linen Fee all together and calls it the CLEANING FEE. That's why the cleaning fee appears to be high but it is not that high. We hope this helps.
  • We do not rent to house parties and/or groups including, but not limited to, fraternity/sorority, graduation, or spring break.
  • If evidence of a pet(s) is found in the unit or on the premises and your rental does not include advance permission and pet fee, you will be required to vacate immediately with no refund.
  • Smoking is not allowed in the properties.
  • Each property's max occupancy is stated in the rental agreement and is located in the property's description.
  • No barbeque grills of any kind are permitted on balconies or inside the unit. No open flames, ie. candles, are permitted on balconies or in the unit.
  • There is no daily maid service. Linens and towels are included and are not to be taken from the unit. Additional cleaning fees will be due in the event that cleaning involves the removal of excessive sand, trash or other unusual conditions.
  • No compensation will be given for temporary outage of electricity, gas, water, cable, or internet service. Outages should be reported immediately and all efforts will be made to have them restored as soon as possible.
  • Tenant agrees to leave the premises and its contents in the same neat and tidy condition as Tenant found the premises to be upon move-in.
  • Tenant agrees to abide by the rules of the HOA applicable to the property. Violations that result in expense, fines or limitation of the rights of the owner will be charged to the Tenant's credit card.
  • Owner or owner's agents may enter the premises under the following circumstances: In case of an emergency; to make any necessary or agreed upon repairs, alterations, or improvements; or to supply necessary or agreed upon services or show the premises to prospective purchasers, renters or contractors. Owner will provide renter with at least 24 hours' notice of owners intent to enter (except in the case of an emergency). Pest control personnel must be admitted (refusal is not permitted).
  • We supply the number of parking hangtags or other credentials permitted by property manager or Home Owners Association rules at each complex.  We cannot control parking, and cannot guarantee the availablity of parking space at any particular time.  This rental includes parking credentials, but not parking space.  Parking at Horizon East, Cape Coddages One and Afterdeck is limited to one vehicle per unit during the summer months.  No boats, jet skis, trailers, golf carts or RVs at any property unless specifically permitted.
  • Furnishings are not to be removed from the premises for use outside or in other properties.
  • Neither iTrip nor the Owner assume any liability for loss, damage or injury to persons or their personal property. Neither does Owner accept any liability for any inconveniences, damage, loss or injury arising from any temporary defects or stoppage in supply of water, gas, cable service, electricity or plumbing, weather conditions, natural disasters, acts of God, or other reasons beyond its control.
  • Tenant hereby acknowledges that the premises they have reserved may include a community pool and the undersigned agrees and acknowledges that the community pool and patio/deck can be dangerous areas, that the deck/patio can be slippery when wet, and that injury may occur to anyone who is not careful. With full knowledge of the above facts and warnings, the undersigned Tenant accepts and assumes all risks involved to Tenant and all of Tenant's guests in or related to the use of the community pool and patio areas.

Vacation at Waters Edge
3/5 stars
The unit was very clean but certainly needs to be updated. Considering it’s the off season, the rental fees were higher than they should have been for the dated unit.
- Donald

Hey Donald - thank you for taking the time to leave your review. We are SO glad to hear that you enjoyed the cleanliness of your unit - we have a great cleaning staff that takes pride in their job. We also take pride in keeping the most up-to-date pictures possible so that tenants know what they are walking into. We understand that you may enjoy a more updated unit, but at least you see what you are paying for before arriving - no bait and switch here. The fall season in Garden City is super popular - so while the rates are MUCH lower than the busy summer season, they are not the rock bottom winter rates you will see down the road

Our visit to Garden City was a great getaway..Booking the condo with Itrip was easy and convenient. The condo was extremely clean and cute. We got messages checking on us and any needs during our visit. Definitely recommend booking rentals with them

The condo was very clean and a beautiful view. They were repairing the indoor/outdoor pools but that's ok. We still had a wonderful time.
- Wendy

Wendy, Thank you for your kind words regarding the cleanliness of our condo...our Housekeeping team is amazing, and I will be sure to pass along the compliment! We too can't get enough of that view, and always hate to leave it! Re: the pools, as noted on the property page prior to you booking, we too are hopeful that they will have all construction completed soon, and would welcome you back to see the sparkling results! :-) Until then, have a wonderful summer and take care!

Understanding but not thrilled
5/5 stars
We just arrived at itrips to check in, after I had confirmed with the host yesterday that we would be arriving today. When we got to itrips, we were informed that we would be unable to access the rental, as DOT had shut down access due to the storm. We were not informed until we arrived at itrips. We were fortunately able to book a Hampton inn at a premium. I’m incredibly upset that we were not informed in advance and do not know what we would have done if we couldn’t get the hotel.
- Michelle

Hey Michelle - we are SO sorry that the storm ruined your stay, but are puzzled why you did not receive the information prior to showing up?!? We sent out two forms of notification the day before - one email and one text (in case the email was not received). Both of these notifications stated that authorities would not allow us near the property until sunrise the next day and only then could we know the extent of damage and availability. We instructed all potential tenants to contact our office before heading our way so we could notify you of potential delays, property changes and/or necessary cancellations. We apologize if you did not receive either of those notifications - we made every effort to get the word out as soon as we could!

Great Stay!
5/5 stars
This was by far our best stay at the beach that we have experienced! The room was totally awesome. Was so comfy and homey. We had everything we needed for our weeks stay! We can’t thank you enough for sharing you home with us! We will definitely recommend your place, and probably stay again ourselves.

Birthday trip

Loved Waters Edge. Great ocean and sunrise view. Nice I hat covered parking is included. If you’re a short senior, like me, you will find the bed is too high and the toilet is too low! But that didn’t interfere with anything.

Water Edge #908
5/5 stars
iTrip is Great to work with. Water's Edge 908 was Great. Very nicely decorated love the colors. Everything with the Condo was super nice. Only thing that was not good was that the Hot Tub was closed during the week for construction work on the building. But was open on the weekends. It didn't take away from Us enjoying Our time there.
- Harry Bean

Hi Harry, and we are SO pleased that you found both our customer service and property to be "5 stars"!! :-) We do our very best to treat each customer as family, and provide accommodations that make you feel as if you're "at home". We apologize that the hot tub was only available on the weekends, but appreciate your understanding, and look forward to having you back in the very near future. Until then, take care!

Fabulous Condo
5/5 stars
The owner has done a great job updating!! The bedroom has a brand new King size bed that is extremely comfortable. Tons of fluffy pillows, extra linens and plenty of towels. Lots of drawers and closet space. Every room in the condo has been decorated with a "beachy flair". The kitchen is large and has everything you could possibly need. The living room is large and comfy. Having a washer and dryer in the unit is wonderful. The view of the beach from the balcony is grand! You will not be disappointed if you rent this condo. We were here for 2 weeks and had plenty of space. Water's Edge Resort needs to improve their wi fi for renters. It is easy to connect to the Water's Edge wi fi but the connection is so poor that we rarely had an internet access while we were there. The manager in the main office told us this is very common with renters unless the owner gives them access (password) to their individual internet server. The elevators were frequently down and being repaired, an inconvenience when you have to walk up or down 9 flights of steps with beach gear. I hope they get these issues cleared as it was very inconvenient. Overall this is one of the nicest and cleanest condos I have rented.

Great view, comfortable condo. Door lock difficult to operate. Nobody told us that wrist bands were required to access amenities. Toilet paper shortage.

Fee Fo Review
1/5 stars
Horrible place. Resort was poorly maintained. Both hot tubs were out of order our entire trip. The condo was dirty upon our arrival and we had to contact management to get it recleaned. 2nd day the air conditioner went out. Then check out time is at 10 which is very strange we've never stayed somewhere with such a early check out. On the day of check out there was someone standing outside our door exactly at 10 just standing there staring at us waiting for us to leave. Once we got down to try to load our things up someone pours water over the balcony, one of the cleaners I assume, very close to hitting us. I will never stay through I trip or at Water's Edge Resort again. Oh and I forgot to mention the mold / mildew evident all over the home. And the sheet on the couch bed has blood on it.

pre-retirement
5/5 stars
We enjoyed out 2 week stay at Waters Edge unit 908. This was a pre-retirement stay. I will retire end of Jan/2017. We liked the people in the resort and the restaurant there. We hope to do this again in Oct. We do hope the resort didn't suffer much damage from hurricane. See you real soon hopefully in fall . Ernie & Jean
- Ernest

We are so glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay, and look forward to you staying with us next October. Unfortunately the main level of the building did incur damage from the hurricane. The building management is hard at work restoring the ground level. Thank you again for choosing iTrip.

room 908, Water's Edge
4/5 stars
I got the room on very short notice (the day of my arrival, long story) at a very reasonable price. 908 is a 1 bedroom with 2 full baths that could easily sleep 6-7 people. There was an issue with some dripping water from the ceiling of the bathroom and the laundry room. I reported it to the front desk guy, and it was fixed very quickly, and had no impact on my stay. Room was a tiny bit worn here and there, but completely comfortable and quiet. I'm 56 so I don't want to hear wild parties, and the little bit of rowdiness from some nearby rooms always ended before 11pm, so no problem there! Bedroom has a big firm king bed with a master bath. It's right on the ocean! You can literally walk out your door barefoot in your swimsuit with your towel and keys and be completely at ease. There's a little bar room and a restaurant and a convenience store on the lower level, very convenient! There's a whirlpool and a cool indoor/outdoor pool, but I only swam in the ocean! Easy drive to Walmart, Bi Lo, restaurants and pier at Murrell's Inlet, and less than 15 mins to Myrtle Beach. Every single person who works there is pleasant, polite and eager to be of assistance. Overall I love it here and actually miss it now. I would absolutely love to stay again next year!!

Million dollar view in a Five dollar room
1/5 stars
The other reviews for this place noted the view and I couldn't agree more, the view is great but that's where the good ends and the bad begins. This place is grossly misrepresented. The carpets were filthy with cigarette burn marks and the smell that comes with cigarettes. The million dollar view from the stained patio with filthy plastic (one cracked) furniture and the hand rail with bird droppings almost ruined the view, and while I'm commenting on the view, it was almost lost on the fogged over window/sliding door with a dangerous tripping hazard in the walk though. The bathroom and bedroom doors were literally falling apart. The kitchen faucet leaked, the laminate on the counters was separating with some pieces that had fallen off and were just not replaced. The kitchen cabinets had years of grime on the cutouts for opening. The metal entry door was rusted and dented. The whole place needs to be painted, updated, and the carpets replaced. The good; the view. It's in an older high rise where it was obvious the building management was making improvements to cleanliness and updates with new carpets, pool and deck maintenance. Walking to the pier along the beautiful beach was a charm although the area around the pier is a little seedy. There are better restaurants to the north of the condo along Ocean Blvd., but not walking distance. The location is good for those that want to dine in Murrells Inlet and walk the boardwalk and listen to music. Maybe a 10 minute drive. Don't be intimated by the biker bars when you first drive in to the inlet there a a couple of restaurant pockets beyond those that are very good. It gets you away from all the commercialism of Myrtle Beach. It can get very crowded as well but it caters to a more upscale feel than downtown Myrtle with all the buffets. We had friends stay in a 'building owned condo' that was a huge improvement over this unit. If you want to stay in this area I would recommend this building but not this unit. I did contact the management company with our concerns and all they said they would contact the owner. Huh? I would not recommend this room to anyone.

Awesome View!
3/5 stars
The view from the condo was amazing! The resort is beautiful, the decks and landscaping outdoors were very relaxing any time of day or night. The location to The Pier, Murrel's Inlet and Surfside is great, we never ventured to Myrtle Beach! The accommodations inside the condo were as shown in the pictures, outdated and nothing special, it was clean enough. The bed was very comfortable. We spent most of our time on the balcony or down on the pool deck. We had no problems with parking or the elevators as I have seen other people say they have. We will stay at the Water's Edge again, everyone from the café cook, to the gift shop owner, to the tiki bar owner were so nice and accommodating. The walk down the beach to the pier was not to far, and the little downtown Garden City area has everything you need! Jan with itrip, teeoff Beach, was great, she answered all my questions, we got great directions to pick up the keys, we would definitely use them again!

Almost a perfect week.
3/5 stars
First of all, the room was very nice and as advertised. It was clean, and the view was perfect. Almost felt like the ocean was right next to the balcony. The problem arose when we locked our key in the room when we went down to the pool. I know, it was our fault the key was left in the room, but none the less, it happens. We went down to the front desk, and learned that since it was a 3rd party rental that they did not have a key. Since all our stuff was in the room, we had no phone numbers to call the emergency number. When the desk clerk went to look for a number, she said there was no emergency listing for the rental company. They did locate a set of four keys that was marked for that room, but they were not the right keys. Seems like a very dangerous situation if a person needed help and was locked in the room, and the front desk had no way to enter quickly. The desk clerk did locate the company's number on line and when she called, was given an emergency number. She and my wife both called and left a message on the at the emergency number, and was never called back. T make it short, we had to call a lock smith to help us enter the room. As I say, the room, area and everything was very nice, but the mix up at the desk left a bad taste in my mouth. If we every were to go bac to the area, we would stay at the resort, but would probably go through the resort itself and not a third party.
- J and J

We're glad to hear that your stay was almost perfect, and that you found the condo very nice and clean. Thank you for those kind comments. Sorry that you had difficulty when you locked your keys in the condo. The resort management had been provided our contact information, and a key to the unit. The resort manager has agreed that the employee you went to for help should have known how to reach us. We have no idea who she called. If she had known how to do her job, she would have reached us and we would have had someone there with a key in a very short time. Does it seem fair to hold us responsible for their employees?
