Seas the Moment

When you approach Seas the Moment you immediately feel that island vibe. The large palm tree flanks the gray steps leading to a bright aqua door on this sunny yellow home. As you enter, you can imagine having your breakfast on the sun porch. Entering the living area you notice the calming spa-like feel that flows from room to room.

If your home movies are still on tape, there is a VCR to relive those wonderful memories. If you prefer, there is a Blue-Ray/DVD player. Smart TVs are found in not only the living room but in each of the bedrooms. Each TV has a Roku device. If this is a working vacation, choose the bedroom with the desk for privacy and quiet for your Zoom meetings.

There are several areas to enjoy your meal prepared in the well-stocked kitchen or using either the charcoal or gas grill. Downstairs in the open-air shade you’ll find a memorable surfboard shaped wooden picnic table and a round glass topped wicker table. Upstairs you can choose from the sun porch, the bar in the kitchen or the dining table.

You don’t find 3 choices of coffee makers in most homes, but each has a purpose. Enjoy a k-cup coffee, tea, cider or hot chocolate (bring your favorites), or brew a large batch of regular and a small pot of decaf. Something to suit everyone!

To launder your vacation apparel, find a full-sized washer and dryer conveniently located upstairs. Both bathrooms are stocked with plenty of plush towels and the beds are beautifully made. All you need are your beach towels.

In the privacy of the backyard, set up the cooler full of your favorite iced beverages. Rest in the beach chairs as you cheer on your teammates while they play a round of corn hole. And when you return from the beach, rinse off in the fully enclosed outdoor shower with hot and cold running water.

There is such a variety of activities to suit most interests. A short walk around the corner and you can learn all about the natural habitat, some unique to our island area. Bring a fishing pole and catch your dinner on the “T” shaped dock. Picnic and relax under the covered portico as you watch the variety of boats travel the Intracoastal Waterway. Keep an eye out for the playful dolphins often seen in the ICW.

Less than a mile the other direction is the family friendly beach Oak Island is known for.
