The Brookie at BHOTR (Unit 2)
2/5 stars
We planned a getaway vacation with family and friends. The area location and house itself are breathtaking. However we felt the VRBO was a little miss-leading. The ponds weren't re-stocked. We were a little sad about that but moved on since the river was near by.... or so we thought. The cabin is few yards away from the river, but you can't fish there, you have to drive to the north end to fish. A little inconvenient as we paid for front access. One of the Saunas and the Pool were down for repairs. Not having the Pool available was a major bummer. Our kids were really looking forward to playing in the pool. One of the guest mentioned the pool was down for 3 weeks. The managing company said it was down for few days and would be repair the following week. The Kayaks/fishing poles and bicycles were available as first come first serve at the Lodge, not the home itself. The day of check out we felt really rushed as the cleaner person came 15 minutes before check out and felt like a bother to be around even-though we were getting ready to leave. We were told we were going to have a reimbursement for the pool inconvenience, but never received anything back or even a phone call to follow through. Over all we had high hopes for this house, but won't be back. It's a given no one can predict when things break, but communication is key, specially when you know its broken and don't say anything prior to your arrival.
