Welcome to the Hollywood Sign Chalet - an artistic and rustic A-frame home with legendary rock n' roll history & stellar views! This property is managed by iTrip Vacations Hollywood.
Fully Experience Los Angeles and the Hollywood Hills in THE closest house to the iconic "HOLLYWOOD" sign! The home was built in 1963 and once owned by the 60's band The Association ("Cherish", "Windy", "Never My Love"). David Crosby was introduced to Graham Nash by Mama Cass (who also lived next door) at a party in this house. If you want to stay at a property where everything is shiny and new like The Four Seasons, you should book a room at The Four Seasons! Scroll through our photos and you will see this is a vintage house that was famously photographed by Linda McCartney's book "The Sixties" in 1967.
The Chalet has an indoor/outdoor cabin feel with fresh air and breezes from 4 various outdoor patios and balconies. There are 4000 acres of incredible hiking & horseback riding in Griffith Park & Lake Hollywood right outside the front door. The neighborhood is upscale and safe. Our section of Mulholland Highway is on a private road with about 5 houses and blocked from traffic. Hikers are allowed to walk through but can't drive through to get to Griffith Park.
A "bucket-list" stay for an eclectic or relaxing - spacious getaway! Lovers of nature, music, art & outdoor activities will have so much fun here!
Self Check-In - you will be provided a unique digital door code and/or Owner is available to "socially distance" greet you.
Common Space Areas:
The front garden and driveway are common spaces with the Owners. The Owner lives in separate work/living studio in the front of the house. Plus you will most likely see Jack, a beautiful blue-eyed Siberian Husky.
The main part of the 2-story Hollywood Sign Chalet is ALL for your enjoyment!
Fully Stocked Kitchen with Built-In Dining Nook (all kitchen appliances dishwasher, microwave, blender, coffee maker, pots/pans etc plus variety of cooking spices/oils and we provide free coffee/tea)

Large Outdoor Balcony with picnic table (south facing views; on a clear day you can see the ocean!)
A-Frame Living Area w fireplace and newly strung 7-foot grand piano. (For you music lovers, you will also find a vintage Audiophile system)

Any booking request with less than 48 hour notice requires Management approval. We require guest to provide valid photo ID and matching credit card used prior to check-in.
It is our mission to ensure that our valued guests enjoy their stay with us! This is a permitted vacation rental with the City of LA # HSR20-001539. We also have an equally as important commitment to our neighbors and our community. Below are the house rules that we must enforce. Please read them as well as all your guests prior to confirming your reservation.
MAX NUMBER OF OCCUPANTS
The Property is to be occupied by no more than the maximum sleep number stated on reservation unless approved in writing by Management. If Guest exceeds the occupancy limit and falsifies occupancy information at the time of reservation, Guest shall be subject to eviction. "Occupants" includes small children, infants and any and all visitors. If more than the maximum number is found to be occupying the Property at any time, you agree that a charge of $ 100 per person/per day will be made to your credit card. Additionally, this Agreement may be immediately terminated without a refund of any amounts paid. No Exceptions.
NO PARTIES OR EVENTS
A party is defined as any combination of the following; ANY loud noise and/or excessive drinking that is disruptive to neighboring houses and/or guests outnumbering the maximum amount permitted as defined above. A party will result in an immediate eviction from the property with no refund given under any circumstance. Any exceptions to this policy must be approved by iTrip Vacations Hollywood in writing prior to the arrival date.
Actions by guests that result in neighbor complaints or police being called to the Property will result in a minimum $250 charge, which charge will be used to deal with legal issues and fines.
QUIET HOURS: 10 pm – 7 am. No Outdoor Music during this time.

"i was out hiking today and i came across this perfect little a-frame house.
whenever i see perfect a-frame houses i think of record producers in the mid 70’s reading about est and sitting in the hot-tub thinking about how best to record background vocals for the doobie brothers.
they seem quintessentially californian, the perfect home in which to make lentil stew for robert plant and melanie. which is odd. odd because with their super pitched roofs they’re designed for alpine climates where it snows 8 months out of the year. further re-inforcing the idea that almost all architectural vernacular in southern california is arbitrary. awesome, but arbitrary.

It is our plan in the New Year to address all the issues you have stated and do some renovating and updating, yet maintain the integrity and character of the Chalet.
