The condo has an amazing view and we spent 10 days whale watching just from our lanai or on the grounds by the water. Spectacular sights!! The condo itself though is pretty run down. Yes the kitchen and bath have been "remodeled" but very cheaply. The walls, paint and windows were pretty bad. Only half of the windows even opened, which is a pretty big deal when you want the tradewinds to cool down the unit, or to be able to listen to the ocean at night. Window coverings were also broken or really cheap. I would recommend the Polynesian Shores for the views but I wouldn't stay in this unit again.

Great condo, mostly had everything we needed. The complex was ok... no hot tub and the pool was small. Beach was too rocky to enjoy with our two little ones (age 4 and 6). Location was good, close to Napili, Kapalua, Honolua, DT Flemming and Slaughterhouse beaches. Bed was pretty comfy, kitchen had the basics, and shower was nice.

Had a lovely 10-day stay in #118. Leisurely mornings on the lanai, enjoying the birds and landscaping then off to any of a number nearby beaches for the afternoons. Complex is ideally located. Two minutes to some of the best take-out (Okazuya) and fresh fish (Fish Market Maui) on the island, 10 min from Kapalua Bay to the north or 15 min. down to Kaanapali beaches, grocery store just down the road. Residents at Polynesian Shores appear to be a mix of full time residents and short-term visitors. This gives the place a really pleasant vibe. It’s someone’s home, not a “Woo! Let’s party!” spot. Folks gather to watch the sun set, someone blows the conch shell, people chat around the barbecues but then it quiets down. Unit 118 was spotless when we arrived and is nicely appointed. Good pots & pans & nice dishes. The shower has great water flow and the king sized bed is very comfortable. The unit is equipped with two portable AC units but, by leaving the louvered windows open front & back, we had plenty of lovely cool breezes. Because the unit is at the back of the property, it’s nicely shaded. The trade off is that there's also some road noise. It bothered us the first night but we quickly got used to it and, frankly, it’s way less than at home. The pool is quite nice. Perfect for sunset swims or, if you’re an early riser, join some of the residents for early morning water exercise group!

Polynesian Shores Unit #118 has a great location in Honokowai and is a comfortable room. Kitchen was well equipped (except for spices) and there are beach chairs, umbrellas and a cooler to use. I emptied/filled the ice trays a couple of times a day and made enough to keep my beverages cold when heading up to Slaughterhouse or Fleming beach for the day. Yes, the screen and sliding doors need some maintenance, but from what I heard from some year-long residences is that all doors and screens are going to be replaced in the near future. The pool is refreshing and the grills/picnic tables by the pool. The beach here is a bit small, but sunsets are amazing and the snorkeling is pretty good. It's worth it to walk down the beach to the ladder - makes getting into/out of the water a lot easier. Honokowai Park and market are right down the road for supplies and sunset and the Times grocery store a bit further has everything. Miso Phat in Kahana is one of the best sushi places anywhere and should not be missed. Mollies (happy hour 3-6) next door has the best prices in West Maui. And then there's the freebies that were offered with the Explore card thingy - traveling solo this time made this perk amazing. I went on 2 snorkel trips and a sunset cruise for free! No timeshare gimmicks, etc. I had a fantastic on the Sea Maui and their crew was fun, yet professional.

The view from our condo was fantastic! Beautiful sunsets every night! Even the cloudy skies had a silver lining! Everyone comes out at night to watch the sunset! The condo was very clean and comfortable. The only draw back was the louvre windows. Great for air... we only used the a/c once, but lets noise from the street and parking lot in. We loved waking to the birds though! This property is a great alternative to the high rises nearby!

We have been to Maui many times and this was our least favourite rental property. It certainly kept us safe, a roof over our heads and a place to kick up our feet at night. Here are the pros: beautiful complex this is on. There is ocean view from the patio which is wonderful. The condo complex is immaculately maintained. Pool is heated and lovely. Cant find a better place for sunsets. Here are the downfalls: first the furniture in the pictures was not what was in the condo (not a big deal but surprising when you walk in and its not what you looked at entirely online). Secondly as a ground level unit in this complex, there will be cockroaches (super yuck) but this will happen at almost any of the ground level units. This unit has plates and glasses and beach towels/regular towels, but just enough. There are no spices (not even salt and pepper). As I said it will keep you safe and a place to rest your head but is the bare minimum. The floor was dirty when we got there, but a call to the managers quickly sent someone to clean them for us. The sink stopper was broken, but again they provided a new one, but it didnt work very well. The bedroom windows face the parking lot and is close to the street. It was very noisy at night. Communication with the management team prior to arrival wasnt very good, but on the island was great. We had a lovely holiday in Maui but likely would not stay at this property again.

We loved our time in #118. It was in a great location just north of kaanapali and had all of the amenities that we needed. The pool is fabulous and is never crowded. The sea turtles on the little beach are amazing to look at. The kitchen allowed us to cook breakfast and lunch......we could also do laundry at the communal washers/dryers by the main office. The unit, while not the most updated, was just what we needed for a family of four at a fair price. Please be advised, there is no air conditioning in any of the units and it can get pretty hot in July and august. I think if we went back, we would look for the a/c. The unit also borders the parking lot and road leading into Polynesian shores. Less than 1 mile from Times Supermarket. Many thanks for a lovely and memorable stay.

We had a great time in Lahaina this is our third stay at this condo we went in November this year. We got to see a whale breach in the distance and blow water that was a awesome experience. Leanne at ITrip was most helpful in locating us a place to stay on short notice thank you for everything.
