The Saltwater Cottage at Gleneden Beach is a truly special beach house you will remember forever. Located on Salal Place, you are midway down a dead end street so you can enjoy the quiet and comfort during your stay. The decor is a perfect blend of relaxing beach vibes with exceptional comfort and quality. Most of the interior was just renovated and you can tell it was set up with thought and care that few homes on the coast can match. A brand new sectional couch was just installed August of 2019.
The open floor layout downstairs is great for keeping everyone together and making memories during your stay. On the lower level, there is a full bath with a Jacuzzi tub for your enjoyment. There is also a half bath with a washer and dryer. There is ample seating and a large flat screen TV with some local chanels and streaming options. Please note that all of the bathrooms are on the main level. Whether you are coming back from the beach and need a rinse or want to enjoy a shower in the salt air, there is a private outdoor shower area behind the house.
Upstairs you will find a nice, bright, master bedroom with ample space and a comfortable queen bed. The second bedroom has a twin trundle bed that can be pulled out for the second twin, as needed. There is plenty of extra bedding and blankets available. Back downstairs, there is a Murphy queen bed stored behind the dining room table if you need even more room for guests to sleep.
Just outside, there is a nice large fire pit with seating. There are also reclining deck chairs to relax in while listening to the nearby Pacific Ocean. If you start walking left on Salal Place as you are facing away from the house, you will find a path on your right that leads down toward the beach. It is only a quick 2-3 minute walk to the sand and waves.
While relaxing at the cottage is always a welcomed option, you may also consider taking a short stroll to the award-winning Side Door Café for a memorable meal or enjoy the café-by-day / wine-bar-by-night options at The Red Roof. For extra pampering, a 3-minute drive will find you at the Salishan Spa and Golf resort while a few more minutes will get you to the charming beach town of Depoe Bay, known as the “whale watching capital of the Oregon Coast.”
The Saltwater Cottage at Gleneden Beach is perfect for small groups and families to enjoy everything the Central Oregon Coast has to offer. The blend of style, quality, and location is unparalleled.
We truly want you to enjoy your time and make some wonderful memories with your group. That being said, this is not a party or gathering house for groups that can't control their noise levels. We have relationships with all of our neighbors who have our direct contact information. Quiet time is 10:00 pm to 8:00 am. Please stay indoors during this time, keep the windows and doors closed and keep the volume to an enjoyable but reasonable level. If it is loud enough to be heard outside in these conditions, it is too loud for you to remain our guest. This property includes a noise alert monitoring system in order to ensure that neighborhood noise levels are respected. Again, please realize we want every group to enjoy their time, laugh, have fun and make memories. These devices are only to ensure noise levels don't reach a threshold that bothers our neighbors. Also, please note there is no electronic video surveillance monitoring pools or spas, or on the interior of the house.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. Even though I couldn't refund you for the day you had to leave early I truly appreciate you rating the home and location well. You emailed me on October 23rd close to 5:00 pm and then called me soon after. You commented to me by 6:25 pm that same day thanking me for taking your call. I am not sure why I was characterized as unreachable. I understand and am truly sorry about the death in your family. Of course it was out of your control. Situations like that have no bearing on our ability to do last minute refunds. It is these type of situations that travel insurance was built for. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any further questions.
