9 Bedrooms 4.5 Bathrooms Sleeps 18

Be one of the first to stay in this historical home. Enjoy an experience while you stay in just west of Portland on the edge of wine country.

The Macrum Manor is as much an experience as it is a place to stay and rest while visiting Forest Grove in the beautiful Willamette Valley. It sits nestled within the trees in a quiet neighborhood a few blocks south of Pacific University.

Isaac and Westanna Macrum built the house in 1888. Originally three grand residences were built in the Late Victorian - Queen Anne style in Forest Grove. Today this home is the last one remaining. The Macrum Manor, listed on the National Historic Register, has been significantly renovated yet still retains its original design and architecture.

The Macrum Manor is just over 7,700 square feet. There are ten original bedrooms with nine being available for guest use, five equipped with queen beds, and the other four having full beds. There are four full bathrooms, and one half bath throughout the manor. The entire home is decorated with an incredible array of antiques from the era. To prevent the potential of costly damage to the many beautiful antiques, please be advised the rental is not suitable for children ages 1 - 12.

Every room is an adventure through time and you will enjoy exploring all of the decor and facets of this extraordinarily special home. Of the numerous renovations your large group will enjoy is the spacious kitchen with its side-by-side Subzero refrigerator cabinets, crisper and freezer drawers. All refrigeration units are covered with wood exteriors matching the cabinetry so they may not be easily visible in the pictures. Please refer to the floor plans and pictures on the details about the layout of this extraordinarily beautiful manor. There is just too much to possibly list here!

The Macrum Manor is a home that is so unique and special it would be hard to find anything similar regardless of location. Don't miss your chance to explore the wonderful Pacific Northwest and all it has to offer while enjoying your stay in this truly historic home. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions at all.

This property may include a noise alert monitoring system in order to ensure that neighborhood noise levels are respected. There is no electronic video surveillance monitoring pools or spas, or on the interior of the house.

We had a great time staying at Macrum Manor. The house was clean, had enough space for our group, and worked well for a 30th. I do have two points of feedback - if you're looking for something in Portland, note this is at least a 30 minute drive to the city. Also, it is clear that other people live in this house when it is not being rented. There were a lot of family artifacts and photos, which can make it feel less like a hotel or rental stay and more like you are staying in someone else's home.

It was great having you at Macrum Manor! We hope you come back and visit us again! We do note in the listing title it is 25 miles to downtown Portland and we actually specify in the listing description it is about 45 minutes from Portland. And yes, the family does have some family photos that remain up as the family does still use the house often when it is not being used as a vacation rental. Sorry to hear if this was a detractor for you, many others have felt that it adds to the charm of the home! Either way, we are glad you visited and had a great time!

We rented this Victorian home for a family get together. We had a range of children from ages 4-14 years old. They were amazed at the history of the house and the beautiful rooms and antique furniture. It was an adventure for sure! The grassy yard, beautiful porch, and patio were all key for us. We spent most meals and evenings outside. During the day, we enjoyed going to a minor league baseball game, blueberry picking, and wineries. It was a memorable trip for all of us! It might not be best for toddlers, but fine for older children due to the stairs and antiques.

Staying at the gorgeous Victorian mansion was a real treat! Loved the spacious rooms and the very up-to-date kitchen! The finished basement was a nice place to relax with the huge screen TV. The decor was gorgeous with lots of antiques! The bathroom with a heated floor was very nice since we were there in March. Our host was very helpful and answered any questions we had very quickly. We would love to stay there again the next time we visit Oregon!
