This charming yellow cottage is the perfect getaway for a couple or group of four looking for that memorable trip to Florence and the Oregon Coast. It is a historic home built in 1939, and is surrounded by white lattice fencing and colorful shrubs. It is known by the huge old clematis vine that frames the front porch, and welcomes visitors.
Wilma Cottage is an eclectic blend of modern and vintage décor with little surprises found in every room. From the moment you step into this house a peaceful feeling surrounds you.
The living room provides the perfect quiet space complete with a desk and charging station where you can use your computer, or just relax with a good book in front of the fireplace.
The Wilma Cottage is located 2 minutes from Old Town Florence. There you will find the Siuslaw Estuary, charming small shops, galleries, and eateries. The area is well known for the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area, many lakes and trails, the Siuslaw River and Bridge, fishing, crabbing and hiking. Just minutes north of town are sweeping beaches, fresh salt air, and beautiful Pacific sunsets to enjoy. Don’t forget to use your camera to capture some of the most beautiful scenery Oregon has to offer, like the Heceta Head Lighthouse, Cape Perpetua and the Sea Lion Caves.
This home is a quick drive from multiple access points to the Oregon Dunes and ocean beaches including the popular access just out South Jetty Road. The charming Old Town section of the city is filled with lovely shops, cafes, galleries, and restaurants. You will also be minutes from numerous trailheads for hiking or mountain biking. The coastal forests flourishing in Douglas fir and Sitka spruce extend nearly to the Ocean. Some trails wind up, over, and through sand dunes, offering hikers the opportunity to experience the unique natural wonders of this area. Take a scenic drive up Hwy 101 to Heceta Head Lighthouse where free tours are offered daily. Get your adrenalin flowing on a nearby dune buggy tour or with an ATV rental, or go crabbing from the Siuslaw Bay public fishing pier at the end of South Jetty road where crabbing is excellent from late spring until the fresh water from winter rains force the crabs out to the ocean.
