Siltcoos Lake:

The largest lake on the central Oregon coast is also one of the region’s best fishing lakes, especially for warm water fish including largemouth bass.

and is one of the few lakes in Oregon where you can keep a wild coho salmon in season.

Siltcoos Lake is a sprawling 3,164 acres located between Florence and Reedsport in the wonderful dune country of the central coastline.

Siltcoos is one of the most celebrated largemouth bass fisheries in Oregon.

You’ll find tons of good bass cover all over the lake, including fallen trees, drop-offs.

Crappie also hang out around structure and found in shallower water during the spring.

Siltcoos is known to have good populations of less-pursued species including yellow perch, sunfish and bullhead catfish.

Trout are not the primary quarry for anglers here, but the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife does stock a modest number of rainbow trout here. Look for those plantings to take place in late winter or early spring (March and April are good times to check the stocking schedule linked below).

Native cutthroat trout also live in the lake and its tributary streams and may be kept as part of your daily trout limit.

The coho salmon fishery here opens in October and runs through December. Fishing for these fish is usually not productive until significant rainfall draws in these large fish, which most often happens in November.

There are a modest number of coho caught and kept here, but it’s a fairly unique opportunity. Boaters catch most of the adult coho, often by trolling wobbling lures in the creek channels the salmon use to return to their home streams.

You will also be minutes from numerous trailheads for hiking or mountain biking. The
coastal forests flourishing in Douglas fir and Sitka spruce extend nearly to the Ocean.

Some trails wind up over and through sand dunes offering hikers the opportunity to
experience the unique natural wonders of this area. Bring your camera!
Paddle Siltcoos River between Siltcoos Lake and the Pacific Ocean. This slow-moving
three-mile river is so ideal for paddlers that it’s a designated Canoe Trail. Take a scenic drive up Hwy 101 to Heceta Head Lighthouse where free tours are

Florence lake house
4/5 stars
This is the second year we have stayed at this home for Thanksgiving. The house works very well for ten people. We do have some thoughts that would bring us back for another visit. 1. The stove needs some work done. The oven door does not shut tight so cooking in it is difficult. Our turkey only cooked on the top half and the pies were undercooked 2. The washer did not work. We had to do laundry in town which cost us $23 for two loads and e brought them back to dry 3. Only one light of the three above the bar were working 4. The couch and chair in the living room could be updated. Very saggy and hard to get out of 5. The bed upstairs on the right side was missing some of the slats that hold up the mattress. Made it sag to the middle Again, we enjoyed our stay and would love to come again. We thankful that the host is willing to open their home for us.

Wonderful vacation home
5/5 stars
What a wonderful vacation home! We had 3 families and there is so much space for all the kids! You don’t feel right on top of each other! There is an amazing kitchen where everyone can cook and be a part of things. Pans could be better but lots of dishes and utensils that make it very easy! The kids had a blast playing table tennis in the garage! I would definitely stay again. This is our 3rd time staying in this house and it doesn’t disappoint at all!

Family trip
4/5 stars
Nice large home, comfortable for our family gathering. Nice location with nice view, plenty of hot water and space, ping pong table, large kitchen, efficient appliences, plenty of towels, and great balcony space/seating. Could use a little TLC. For instance, the bunk bed didn't look or sound stable so as a result we put the mattresses on the floor, the bedroom chair had a broken leg and was unusable, the hot tub would not stay warm for long, the dinning room table only seats 6, and we slipped and fell a few times using the path to the lake.

Perfect home
5/5 stars
This house is unbelievably beautiful. Perfect for a family vacation. It was very clean. Scenery was so relaxing. The kitchen, living dining area was large and worked perfect for the family to eat meals together. Has a basement with a garage door that opens up to a grassy area where people can sit and relax kids can play. I highly recommend this house.

Northwest Visit
5/5 stars
Wanting to get together with our college buddy for our annual golf and tourist outing this year we saw Florence as a fun place. We three wanted a home to be scenic, comfortable, and enjoyable to hunker in for any days of rain. Our Serenity Lake House was perfect for all that: a scenic view on the lake, wide open living and dining room with huge picture window. It is well equipped and designed, and easy in every way. A few minutes north into town, we had a quiet and tranquil setting. iTrip made the arrangements for our stay easy and congenial. We had a delightful visit, and no matter what we did, returning to this lovely home at the end of the day was always a highlight.
