For a more adventures and private entrance follow 1st St. south to Heceta / pond St. turn right and follow straight ahead to the corner then look for a path through the bushes and dune.

Heceta Head Lighthouse

Situated high above the Pacific Ocean on the rugged Heceta Head outcropping is one of the most popular and inspirational sites on the Oregon Coast; and it is only about 10 scenic miles north of Florence. It is a must-see among must-sees here in Oregon’s Coastal Playground. One of the most beautiful, and most photographed lighthouses in the world.

Since March 30, 1894, from its perch 205 feet above the ocean, this 56-foot-tall working lighthouse has cast its beam more than 20 miles out to sea, making it the brightest light on the Oregon coast.

Throughout its intriguing and colorful past, the lighthouse watched over many attending families, safely guided passing personal, commercial, and military vessels, oversaw the construction of Highway 101, hosted a WWII military outpost and Lane Community College’s satellite campus, and blessed many a wedding ceremony.

The lighthouse underwent a major, and historically accurate, restoration between 2011 and 2013.

The leisurely walk to the lighthouse is a quarter-mile uphill from the inn, which itself is a quarter mile from the public parking area. There is an interpretive center and gift shop with books, souvenirs, and other themed items as you begin the walk from the inn to the lighthouse.

Heceta Head Lighthouse is 11 miles north at Heceta Head Lighthouse State Scenic Viewpoint, (formerly Devil’s Elbow State Park). Day use parking is $5 or is covered by a $35 Oregon Coast Passport permit available at state parks.

Great stay for the 5 of us
5/5 stars
We all had a great time in this home. Very comfortable, very quiet neighborhood, very homey, and nice kitchen with lots included. We all slept great. Our 6'3" son got the twin bed. There is a bit of a "dip" in that small mattress that he had to position himself around. This is just an observation, and it didn't bother him. :) We look forward to returning to the Oregon Coast for another fun adventure in the future. Thank you.

Excellent Experience
5/5 stars
This house was amazing. There was everything we could imagine needing and more. Could easily stay a week or more and make any meal you could think of. We really enjoyed our time here.

This house and location are outstanding. The house is well furnished with new looking everything. It is very clean and easy to make yourself at home. It is perfect for two couples. The beach is nearby and easy to walk on with beautiful views. The town is quaint and has many interesting shops and places to eat. We had a wonderful time and are looking forward to a possible return. This property is a 5 star and a pleasure to live in. Dennis
Loved it!
5/5 stars
This house is located Just steps from a wide, cool, refreshing beach. It’s close to Heceta Lighthouse for hiking, Sea Lion Caves for animal lovers, and quaint Old Town Florence. Restaurants, coffee spots, and markets are close by out on the main highway. Five adults in our group slept comfortably in this clean, quiet, well-equipped home. Plenty of space inside to watch the Olympics on the big screen TV or to cook and enjoy a big family meal. We would rent this place again. Thanks!

Sandy Feet Retreat
5/5 stars
We enjoyed our 4th of July holiday for the second year in a row at Sandy Feet Retreat. The home is immaculate and well stocked. The location to the beach is extremely convenient. Our recommendation would be to provide darker curtains or shades in the 2 bedrooms on the north side of the house. With the sun setting so late in the summer it is sometimes difficult for the children to fall asleep because the rooms are not dark enough. Perhaps there is also something that can be done about the ants that are in the kitchen all of the time. We placed ant traps in some cabinets and the counters as well as occasionally sprayed the Raid which was provided. The propane tank on the side of the BBQ is now empty. We found a screw on the floor under the trundle bed and have left it on the counter for someone to find where it goes. We could not locate exactly where it came from. We look forward to returning again next 4th of July as the entire family really enjoys being on the Coast and staying at the Sandy Feet Retreat!!!

Cozy and welcoming beach home.
4/5 stars
This was a great beach house! It fit my family of five people and is very cozy. Its open layout is awesome! They also have recliners which is nice. Although they say there is a path to the beach close by that path is very small and compact though leaves and trees, and once me and my family got through it was on the super windy part of the beach. How ever if you walk down the road to the hotel that beach is much better.

Clean and Comfortable Home
5/5 stars
This was the perfect little home for us. The house is perfectly clean and has everything you need. Felt like home away from home. Just a short walk to a great walking beach and a short drive to town. Very happy to have found a great home to stay in when I come back to Florence!

Great Place to relax
5/5 stars
I would just like to say this is a great place to relax and enjoy the beach. It is just a few minute walk to the beach and several outdoor things to do in the area. The house is very well kept and we even had the opportunity to enjoy the BBQ while here. We will be back someday.

Just right!
5/5 stars
We loved this house. Super clean! One of the main reasons we chose this place was the clean reviews, and it lived to that standard. It’s also in a great spot near Haceta beach (you can’t see the ocean from the house, though). The kids loved the adventurous trail from the house to the beach, but you can also easily access via the road and driftwood shores area. We would absolutely stay here again. The house is very roomy with two living areas and three bedrooms and two bathrooms. Kitchen has everything you need. Beds are super comfy, too! Lots of extra blankets and pillows in the closet. Great stay!

Wonderful Stay- Can't be beat!
5/5 stars
This place was a 2 minute walk from a beautiful beach. The house was clean, well stocked and very updated and modern. They have thought of everything. I was very impressed with the host of this property and I was thankful I decided to stay here rather than other accommodations in town. I would recommend this place to anyone!
