The Nest on Lake Travis
5/5 stars
We needed a quick escape from reality so took the family to Lake Travis for an extended weekend. The Nest was perfect for our family of 4. Kids slept on the sleeper sofa, my wife and I were in the Master. The back porch was the highlight of the trip. We enjoyed coffee each morning, and cocktails each night. The kids fished off the dock and even braved the cold temps and tried some paddle boarding. It was just what we needed.

Our family which included our twin 7yr old boys had an amazing stay! The kids enjoyed jumping off the dock, paddle boards & we enjoyed swimming in the cove. We met some of the other guest who were all so nice. We enjoyed walking to Sundance Grill for a meal. I made breakfast and we grilled dinner one night. The kitchen was well equipped. I would definitely book this place again and stay for longer than 3 days next time!

Can't say enough about the location - right on the Lake. The home was very clean, master bed was comfortable, sofa-bed was as comfortable as one can be. Kitchen had everything we could have ever needed. The dock was amazing and the it was almost like having your own private cove (sort-of). This home shares the dock and some of the common areas with a few other properties so the dock isn't entirely private, but we definitely had a great time and everyone was good about keeping 6-ft apart. Had a great weekend and we will definitely be back.

Absolutely loved this cute spot on Lake Travis and can't wait to come back. The home was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed for our week at the Lake. The best part was, by far, the back porch that looked out onto the lake. We ate almost every meal on the back patio and just had the best time. The dock was great, although there were a lot of people using it at times. Lots of water 'toys' are provided and the cove was a great place to swim. When we walked in, there was a bottle of wine (we needed it after our drive), sparkling water, breakfast bars and Hand Sanitizer (thoughtful). iTrip reached out the next day to make sure we'd gotten settled in and had everything we needed. We will definitely be back!

I was happy with my iTrip experience from the moment I walked in and saw the assortment of wine, sparkling water, snacks and hand sanitizer waiting for me on the kitchen table. The place is incredible with a big king in the master, two full bathrooms, a comfortable living room with pull-out queen sleeper-sofa and full kitchen. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything I needed all weekend. But the porch! The outside of this unit is where I spent almost all of my time. It has a huge porch around 2 sides with doors from the master opening out to a nice secluded sitting area with a chiminea which made a delightful fire that I could have watched for hours. It was a short walk from the porch down to the shore of Stewart Cove on Lake Travis. The cove is quiet and secluded so there was not any boat traffic when I was there. There were several kayakers and stand up paddleboarders floating around. Across the yard were the steps down to a floating dock that had plenty of room for people to relax and also offered 2 SUPs, a kayak and several floats for my use. I had a wonderful time floating around the cove and even managed to stand up on the SUP by the end of the weekend. I highly recommend this place. I will sure be coming back!

We stayed here for 2 weeks and loved it. Home is very clean, comfortable, and is right on Lake Travis. Loved the big covered patio with a beautiful view of the lake. Didn't use the sleeper sofa so don't know about it, but the King Bed was very comfortable.

This place was awesome for what we wanted. Very close to the water with an awesome dock and diving board, along with paddle board rentals and floats. I’d definitely rent it again for the dock and proximity to the water alone! Kitchen has everything you need and there’s a cool outdoor space as well. Only downsides are the limited parking, the sleeping situation and the shared space. We had 4 guys sleeping there and 2 of the beds were better suited for small kids—but we made it work! There’s only 2-3 parking spots but we managed to take some additional parking spaces since nobody was staying in the upstairs rental apt. FYI the dock is shared by at least 2 other rentals and can feel a little cramped when each place has a large group (unless you are there to mingle). You can also bring a boat or jet skis and doc them there, which is really cool! Overall it was really fun and I’d def recommend it to anyone who isn’t just looking for a quiet lake property—come ready to mingle and swim! Loved the lake and the free paddle boards.

Hi Aaron, Thank you for taking the time to leave this review - we are glad you enjoyed your stay! We have tried to make it clear in the listing that this is definitely not a place for a quiet weekend away at the lake - there are a total of 6 properties in the cul-de-sac, all of which are vacation rentals, and the dock and certain areas are shared space - great for making new friends but you are correct, not the place if you're looking for a romantic couples getaway. Again, so glad you enjoyed your stay and we'd love to have you back! Thank you for the feedback, -Amy with iTrip

My husband and I with our teenage girls and dog had the best spring break staying at the "The Nest". This place has such character and the back porch that looks out to the cove and lake is where we spent most of the day and night, we even used the fire pit outside. The hammock came to good use for taking naps and there were plenty of chairs to sit outside. The location was great, close to a marina where we rented a boat and there is a great restaurant, the Sundancer Grill in walking distance. The dock was great with diving board and a deck on top to jump from also. The water was cold but it didn't stop us from having fun. Our dog enjoyed the huge backyard but could've used an enclosed fence. The only other things lacking were a grill and maybe a couple of kayaks. We will surely return for another stay here.

I could not have stayed at a more perfect place for Mothers Day weekend! Robins Nest was right off of Lake Travis just as we had hoped to find! The dock gives you direct access to jump in the lake or pull in a boat. The whole family took advantage of the diving board right off the deck. Only half of us were brave enough to jump from the roof access. The sleep we had in our suite “The Nest” was clean and very comfortable. The Texas rustic deco was truly cozy. I was able to cook a huge breakfast in the full kitchen the next morning. It was modern and newly remodeled. We had two twin beds and one queen. And a pull out couch in the living room to sleep more. Our room also had it’s own washer and dryer which was perfect for all the dirty clothes after swimming. We were able to use the propane grill and smoker for dinner on our patio. It was very spacious with reclining chairs and hammocks. The next night we went out for dinner at the amazing Oasis Bar and restaurant which was only ten minutes away from our stay! Not to mention HEB being down the street for groceries and emergencies! We were even able to take a trip into Austin and check out some of the city. The 30 minute beautiful scenic drive there was probably my favorite part. It was the perfect combination of fun and relaxation. Robin, the owner, was delightful and genuinely accommodating! Robins Nest will be my first choice for every lake Travis getaway. I can’t wait to go back!
