Nice…ish
3/5 stars
This historic home was charming and the pool was nice. The stairs were very narrow and steep but that’s to be expected in a historic home. The shower didn’t have consistent hot water - it was very hot for maybe the first 45 seconds and then only cool/lukewarm. Additionally, we were apparently expected to bring our own toilet paper. There was only one partially used roll in each bathroom which wasn’t even enough to last the 2 nights we stayed. I’ve never rented a home that didn’t supply toilet paper and found that incredibly bizarre (and also frustrating… especially considering the cost was $2,000 for 2 nights after fees). There also were no cleaning supplies for the counters for nights we cooked in. We were also asked to water the patio plants which seemed a bit of a strange request. The room and window unit air conditioners were sufficient to keep the house cool. Aside from cobwebs on most of the ceilings the home was decently clean.

I wish you had called us regarding the toilet paper. We typically leave a fresh roll for each new guest and another several rolls in the bathroom cabinet. The water all depends on what else is being run and how much water has been used for the day. In no way would we expect you to water the plants for a 2-night stay. We ask our longer guests if they wouldn't mind watering during the hot months so that future guests can continue to enjoy the amazing plants our homeowner has planted for guests. We also mention that if longer guests are unable to water the potted plants we would send someone to do so. We are extremely accessible and accommodating. If you had just given us a ring and made us aware we could have made sure your experience was at the level we strive for.
