Seaside Cottage at Vilano has an ideal location situated along the seashore in the small beach town of Vilano Beach. A short stroll from the Seaside Cottage is the sea oat-lined path to the nearly secluded beach. A short seashell collecting walk along the seashore to the south will bring you to the Inlet and a view across the river of St. Augustine, its Bayfront, the Fort and its historic skyline. Also, near the Cottage is the entrance to a walking/biking boardwalk under the Vilano Bridge into the Vilano Beach Town Center. There you can stroll down palm tree-lined Vilano Road (Vilano's "Main Street") along sea-colored sidewalk pavers to the Vilano Pier which offers beautiful sunset views across the river to Historic St. Augustine. You can also fish off the Pier. On your way back through the Art Deco/Florida Vernacular-styled Vilano Beach Town Center, stop in for a great meal at one of five local restaurants ranging from pizza to Chinese to Italian to seafood. Or pick up picnic/snack items at the Publix Grocery, which includes a deli, liquor store and a pharmacy. Back at the beach enjoy swimming, sunning, surfing, fishing and skimboarding. For a special evening, oceanfront and riverfront restaurants are within 3 miles from the Seaside Cottage at Vilano.

The traffic noise is loud and constant. Some of the glasses and utensils had food on them. Disapointing in that respect, however the beach is nice.

Hi Bonnie- We are sorry to hear about your experience with excessive traffic noise. This is not a complaint usually heard from our Seaside Cottage guests but certainly possible with so many people in St Augustine kicking off the holiday season with the Nights of Lights. More disappointing is the report of dirty dishes. This will be addressed with our cleaner. Glad you enjoyed the beach and hopefully had a pleasant visit. It was our pleasure host you and we hope to host you again in the future.

Thanks for the very relaxing and comfortable stay. The cottage was very clean and well stocked right down to the beach chairs I forgot to bring. The location is absolutely wonderful. Anything we needed was a very short walk. We have found a new get away destination with you.

We knew going in that this was a 1940s cottage and it met all of our realistic expectations. In fact, we enjoyed the small quirks to the place like the smaller door frames and old style knobs. Our daughter and beagles loved the fenced in back yard, as we all enjoyed the short walk to the beach. Only drawback is the potential for someone to stay below you in the studio, luckily that didn’t happen during our stay. Very impressed with David, he left a personal welcome note and snacks for us. He was also only a phone call or text away should we need anything and was quick to reply. When in St Augustine again, we will look to stay at the Seaside cottage.

Loved the cottage, great value for a fun stay at the beach with our dog. Comfortable King master bed (didn’t use the second bedroom) fully stocked kitchen and bathroom also had supplies- shampoo, hair dryer etc. So nice to have the fenced yard and loved the seating areas outside and also beach supplies like chairs, buckets, boogie boards. Had great food at Beaches restaurant with live music- also dog friendly. Very nice Publix super close. Minutes to downtown St Augustine and close to Ponte Vedra and Jacksonville beaches.

This was a great little cottage for the two of us, exactly what we were looking for in a long weekend getaway. Very close to the beach, quiet, away from the rif-raf of downtown but just a 10min ride away. The structure itself could use a little tlc, the windows in particular. Some are probably ready to be replaced. The only other minor issue I had was the short doorways into the bathroom. I’m about 6’3” so I had a few headbutts thrown my way. Kinda par for the course for me though. All in all very well kept and comfortable. There is an additional rental unit downstairs, which wasn’t abundantly advertised. Really wasnt an issue though. We would stay here again for sure.
