The collection of historic houses on-site, dating from the 1850s to the early 1900s, exudes a captivating ambiance that transports guests to a bygone era.

THE ROOT CELLAR is a truly distinctive lodging experience. This suite exudes uniqueness and history. Unearthed during construction, this unit boasts a genuine root cellar, making it one of our most exceptional accommodations.

On the ground floor, you'll find a master bedroom featuring a luxurious king-size bed and an additional twin bed nestled around the walkway, ensuring a comfortable stay. Venture down stone steps to discover the cellar, transformed into a cozy enclave with a television and a trundle bed featuring two twin mattresses.

ACCESSIBILITY: This room has a stone staircase leading to the original root cellar and may not be suitable for small children or those with accessibility needs.

  2. There is no lifeguard on duty; guests may swim at their own risk
  3. Glass containers and drink bottles are not allowed in the pool area.
  4. Guests must wear wristbands and appropriate swim attire. Street clothes, including jeans and shirts, are not allowed in the pool.
  5. All guests must shower before entering the pool to maintain cleanliness.
  6. Diving is not permitted to ensure the safety of all guests. The pool is designed for recreational swimming only.
  7. Running or rough play in the pool area is prohibited to prevent accidents and injuries.
  8. Children under fourteen (14) must be accompanied by an adult, and close supervision is required for their safety.
  9. For hygiene and safety reasons, pets are not allowed in the pool area.
  10. Guests should not bring food or drinks into the pool.
  11. Please keep noise levels at a minimum to ensure a pleasant environment for all guests.
  12. Large inflatable rafts, balls, or other large objects are not allowed in the pool area.
  13. Guests with contagious illnesses or open wounds should not enter the pool. 
  14. Guests are expected to comply with all posted pool rules. Non-compliance may result in expulsion from the pool area.

Any reservation obtained under false pretense will be subject to forfeiture of deposit, damage deposit, and/or payment.

Smoking and vaping are strictly prohibited. Your deposit will be forfeited, and you will incur an additional charge for carpet cleaning and deodorizing if policy is violated. 

RULES 

  1. Tenant agrees to leave the premises and its contents in the same condition, neat and tidy, as Tenant found the premises to be upon move-in, normal wear and tear expected. 
  2. Pets are allowed with a fee. Pets must be on a leash in common areas at all times, and owners must clean up after their pets.
  3. Furnishings are not to be removed from the premises for use outside or in other properties.
  4. Reservations are not made by or for a minor, defined as any person under the age of twenty-five (25).
  5. No barbeque grills are permitted on balconies or in the unit. No open flames i.e, candle burning, is permitted.
  6. Park in designated areas; do not park on grass.
  7. Tenant and any guest of Tenant shall obey all laws of the state of Texas, as well as local laws, at all times while they are on the premises.
  8. Tenants will be required to vacate the premises and forfeit the rental fee and security deposit for exceeding sleeping capacity.
  9. Linens and towels are not to be taken from the unit. Any lost or damaged linens will be charged to the guest. There is a one-time cleaning fee. Additional cleaning fees will be due in the event that cleaning involves the removal of excessive dirt.
  10. Please report any maintenance needs. Refunds will not be made for maintenance issues.

POOL, HOT TUB, AND PATIO AREAS

Tenant acknowledges that the pools, hot tubs, and patios/decks can be dangerous areas. The tenant accepts and assumes all risks involved in or related to the use of the pools, river access, and patio areas.

My husband and I really enjoyed staying in the Root Cellar. It was clean, comfy and plenty of amenities. Close enough to town for convenience but without the noise. A great place to stay when visiting Gruene!
