The condo was great except for the carpeting in the bedrooms and living area. It was musty when we first entered the condo and there was a slight smell the entire stay. We weren't in our rooms very often except to sleep so it wasn't that irritating as we spent most of our time on the beach, in the pool or out and about exploring.

Weve been coming to Sandy Shores condos since 1997. This was our 3rd year to stay at Sandy Shores #103. Last year, 2018, was a nightmare with all the construction going on! We had family stay with us to include our 8 month old granddaughter who had to be taken out of the building every nap time and walked to sleep in her stroller as the jackhammering was so loud! The condo was dirty as well and the carpet was just gross. I say all that leading up to this years visit. We found out 1 week before our trip that the building construction was STILL going on! I talked to an iTrip person who said it wasnt near as bad as 2018. We got there and found that he was right, it wasnt too bad. However, the condo had not been updated at all! We thought it would have been for sure this year, at least the nasty carpet replaced! It was not. We asked to get in the condo early and received a text message saying we could get into the condo at 2 PM. We went there at 2 PM and found a cleaner in the condo and she told us she had just started cleaning. We checked back at 2:45pm and she was gone! She cleaned a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom condo in 45 minutes! The refrigerator and stove had not been cleaned, we were left 1 key instead of the customary 2 and no parking pass and actually found a big wad of hair sitting on top of the master bedroom shower drain! The master closet had so much junk piled in it that there was hardly room to hang clothes! And when the workmen redid the balcony, they cut out padding or something under the carpet in front of the slider door so that you had a step down before you went out onto the balcony! Not only did we have a terrible family vacation last year because of the noise and dirty condo, we had a disgusting vacation this year in a filthy condo! And when I texted the iTrip contact, the response I received was, Oh Im sorry, Ill have a talk with the cleaning people.

We do apologize that you were disturbed by the work going on in the building. It is currently just finishing up (completion May 2019), and the result looks fantastic! Thank you for your return visit this year, and we do look forward to seeing you again!

Location, location, location! Direct gulf and beachfront views from the balcony, plus right across the street from John's Pass shopping/dining area, and the marina so you can walk across the street and rent a jet ski or go on a pirate themed or dolphin watching cruise without having to drive anywhere! This was a perfectly suited condo for our family of four (2 kids/ 2 adults), the kids loved having their own beds in the second bedroom! There is construction going on right now, which we were warned about, but luckily it was on the sides of the building and did not affect our unit. There was some noise during the day, but we were out and about so much it didn't bother us. Hopefully we will be back someday!

The location was exactly what we were hoping for. It was close to shopping and restaurants and an short walk to the beach. When we booked back in September, the listing mentioned there would be construction going on until November 2018. We anticipated for construction to extend into our December stay but would have never booked if we were made aware that we would be unable to use our balcony or even our windows! There was loud jack hammering starting right at 8 am and construction crews going up past our windows all day. There was also no lights on in the pool area after dark and only one of our pool keys worked properly. Needing to use a pool key to exit the pool area became an inconvenience. The ice maker didnt produces much ice and the dispenser barely worked. We are very disappointed with our experience and it was pointless to even get a waterfront room for this visit.

The rental at Sandy Shores was in the best location we have ever had for a vacation spot. The room was perfect. However, within 5 minutes of being at the rental we heard what seemed to be grinding above our room. The grinding turned I to jackhammering. Loud enough to cause physical pain to your ears. I have three children. We were forced to stay out of the room from 8 am until 5 pm every day! There was no way to even sit in the room and relax. There was dust blowing everywhere. You would cough continuously if you didn't cover your face when walking the halls. I spoke to several other guests at the rental, and they had the same experience. There is no way this place should be renting out right now. I plan to call management at itrip where we booked our room and file a formal complaint.

We just arrived today. You need a key for the stairs and pool/beach area. We received 1 for 4 adults. This was a pain in the butt. Elevator is slow and never was able to get a luggage cart for luggage and groceries, which was extremely inconvenient. We paid a cleaning fee and it was not cleaned in the kitchen or dining table and chairs. I cleaned it and it turned the dish cloth black. It was dusty and the drawers in the bedrooms wasnt cleaned well enough to put my clothes in. The carpet is filthy. I requested an early check in months ahead of time but that never happened. I did receive 2 more keys after 2 texts and a phone call. There is no glass plate in the microwave. The man who brought the keys said he would bring the glass for the microwave but he didnt The ice maker doesnt work. There is no ice machines in the building. There was many gnats swarming around in the kitchen and I found a can of bug spray and eliminated that problem. The couch was dirty and sags. Cushions on the balcony was worn out. The shower curtain was disgusting with mold and mildew. Not enough towels for 4 adults I used mine over several times and still had to wash towels for the week. There was one washer and dryer in hallway. It cost $1.50 to wash a load and $1.50 to dry. The washer isnt very big.The location is great. Many shops and restaurants across the street in Johns Pass. The pool is small and the propert isnt all that pretty. The bathrooms and the bedrooms are good size with plenty of room. The biggest bedroom doesnt get as cool so we had to leave the door open in order to feel the air conditioner. The dishes could use some updating. Needs more glasses and forks. I wouldnt rent this condo again. There is just too many inconveniences and not enough amenities.

Sper clean, easy access, you have everything needed like towels, beach chairs, and games. The kitchen had everything all you had to bring was the food. Very specious and comfy. Last day was a Monday and we were advised of construction going on in the building and it was really loud, they start really early and you wont be able to sleep for sure. Other than that everything was perfect

I normally do not leave reviews but since there was construction going on at the condo complex and I witnessed someone complaining about their vacation to management. I must say that I was told by Itrip about the construction as well as everyone who checked in was forewarned. The construction is going on in the parking garage directly below the first floor so basically below our room. They started about 8:30-9a. Not sure when they finished as we were prob out and about. It was not a problem for us. The only way I personally could see a problem is if you wanted to sleep all day or if you have little babies who are very sensitive to noise during nap time. The room was clean, very well stocked, and has an amazing view!! This complex has a very low traffic level during the week but extremely packed the weekend we were there. I believe some of the owners may have been having a party eek. Itrip was wonderful during the process. I was stupid and booked through VRBO who advertises for ITrip which books the room for the owners. Thus left us paying extra fees that were unnecessary. All I can say is lesson learned!. We were a family of 5 (3 teenagers) and we enjoyed our stay. This particular room has an assigned parking place that is uncovered. They do not offer room service/nor replenish linens/towels so you need to wash your own which was not a problem for us since we don't really like housekeeping coming in anyways. Best part of this room is that you are within walking distance from Johns Pass which has great activities to do, tons of shops, and several places to eat! Very neat place to visit at night!! Hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did!

The balcony and view made this condo really special! Watch the ever changing sunset from your roomy balcony every evening - wow! The condo, 2/2, has a good floor plan. We really liked the master bedroom/bath walk-in shower. King bed super comfy. Location - perfect! Directly across from John's Pass, plenty of restaurants, bars, music, sweet shops, specialty stores, dolphin watching in an easy walk across the street. The garage construction was brutal! Yes, we were told there would be on-going construction, so, my fault! Renter beware! I never imagined a jack hammer on the garage ceiling under our floor, starting at 8am M-F. Ouch! I felt a tad cheated for the amount we paid for 3 weeks. Jeff Johnson from Itrip super helpful when we had a problem with balcony light not working. Pool (heated) area was well maintained and beautiful with plenty of chairs and tables. Outside grill to use. Pay washer and dryer around the corner from condo. Condo itself could benefit from fresh paint and new carpet, but it was clean and the art work, furnishings etc were good. I'd go back in a heart beat for the view and location!

When I walked in I couldn't believe the view. It was amazing. The unit was clean and had almost everything I needed. There were only a couple of things that need updated. The blinds do not function properly and some are missing. The vacuum needs cleaned or replaced. I enjoyed my mornings on the balcony watching the dolphins swim past. I highly recommend this unit.

We stayed at this unit in November 2017. The location and layout of the condo are great and I've stayed at other condos in this same building, but unfortunately this place is very dirty! We paid a cleaning deposit, but it doesn't look like it has been throughly cleaned for some time so someone is just pocketing that money. The carpet was sticky, badly worn and there was "debris" everywhere you looked and we didn't want to walk bare foot anywhere in the unit. There were popcorn kernels and food in the middle of the living room floor and we didn't have any popcorn, so the carpets had not been vacuumed or cleaned in any way in quite some time.. At one point, I moved the corner of the dresser out to plug my phone into the outlet behind it, and found a pair of thong underwear along with dust bunnies like I had never seen before. I'm not saying the furniture should be moved and cleaned behind every time someone stays there, but maybe sometime in the past two years wouldn't be a bad idea. We to Florida often and have stayed at a number of condos in this area and I travel extensively for work, so I've seen a lot, deal with a lot and generally don't comment or complain too much, but this placed needs to be cleaned badly! The condo is generally in well equipped and the kitchen looks like it's been updated recently, but someone needs to spend a couple of days cleaning this place from top to bottom and replacing some flooring. In its current state, we would never stay there again.

This condo is right on the beach and overlooks the pool. It is walking distance to many shops and restaurants and we only had to drive to the grocery store. We were able to rent jet skis and catch our dolphin cruise right across the street as well. The condo is nice and had everything we needed. New chairs were delivered while we were there and the beds were comfortable. It is a bit loud in the morning and my only suggestion would be to get darker shades in the master so you are able to sleep in. We did love opening the blinds and looking out at the ocean. Overall, we loved this place. Even Florida locals commented on what a great location and place it was. Would stay here again for sure!!

We all loved this condo. It was the perfect size for our family of 5. View was great from living room, bedroom and balcony. The kitchen was nice and update and stocked with everything you need. We were pleasantly surprised to find that the condo was also stocked with everything you would need for the beach or pool. It had coolers, beach chairs, pool toys, and umbrellas. We also found a fan, board games, and books. We wished the living room furniture was more comfortable, but the beds were very comfortable. And we noticed a few stains on the master bedroom mattress. You can hear a lot of your noise from the pool area inside the condo, but they do shut all the lights off at 10 PM and everyone usually clears the pool area by then. Overall we loved it and we would love to come back.

Upon arrival we couldn't find parking spots bc it was so dark in the lot. The numbers for your room are on the curb. This unit is directly across from the glass recycling/ trash chute on the first floor. The maintence guy usually cleans it early around 7ish- which would wake up our 1 yr old until I reported to itrip on the 3rd day. The pool was noisy at night and early morning... Again if your a light sleeper the walls are paper thin. Our bathroom worked properly but my parents toilet was draining then water would rise high up along with the tub draining very very slowly. The patio light was burnt out at night and the ice maker didn't work on the freezer. The dining room light we decided not to use bc it seemed like the electric to it was not good as the light flickers funny. The furnishing were comfortable and as pictured. The views were amazing and John's pass was directly across the street was very nice too with a cross walk that was easy to cross. Minus a few hiccups of noise and utility issues it was an affordable clean unit.

My husband and I just spent 3 weeks at #103 Sandy Shores on Madeira Beach. I will let you draw your own conclusions and will just tell you the pros and cons. PROS- Complex is great- very clean and well taken care of. Pool and beach are wonderful. Unit is well supplied and furniture is comfortable. Any issues that came up were quickly handled by Branden from I trip. CONS- If cell phone reception is important to you, you may want to consider elsewhere. We had to walk out to the balcony for calls. Wifi service was iffy with my tablet but ok with the laptop. If noise bothers you, consider elsewhere-- the unit is directly above the pool on the first floor and each morning at 7:00 ( and a few days earlier) the maintenance man starts dragging the pool furniture back in place and cleaning the area. He also lets the pool gate slam every time he goes through and sometimes talks loudly to anyone who passes through to the beach. Very aggravating if you like to sleep in. There are also less irritating noises such as the washer and dryer which are in the hallway outside the unit and the trash being dropped down the chute ( just outside our door) from other floors at all hours. One other observation- the unit needs to be painted badly. This however, wont effect your stay.

Great distance to beach. Kind of a hassle to always have to use a key to enter and exit pool area and beach. People that lived there weren't very friendly. Acted like they were better then you. Always giving snotty looks when you would enter the pool area. One actually ask if we had the right to be there. Over all it was fine.

This condo is located in the perfect location. You have the beach directly in front of you and all the shops and dining behind you at John's Pass. Located on the first floor, I was able to bypass the elevator. The pool was in front of the balcony so I was able to sit and have drinks while my teenagers swam until their hearts were content. We never had to drive anywhere. Parking was a breeze. I would have given this condo 5 starts but I was not too thrilled about the stale smell. The sheets did not seem fresh and the carpet needs to be replaced. However, it would not detour me from coming again. If you're looking for a nice condo with a reasonable price and great location....this is it. I can't wait to come back.
