Relax in this ocean block, 4 BR/2.5 BA with ocean view. This spacious beach cottage enjoys the use of three decks. It sleeps eight people maximum in one king, one queen, and two sets of twin beds.

There is a comfortable living room, dining area for eight, and central AC. There is parking for up to six cars, an outdoor covered table and charcoal barbeque, outdoor shower, washer/dryer. There is an unoccupied, off limits owner suite on the third level. It is never occupied when renters are present.

Included with your booking are seven different activity passes EVERY DAY within 30 minutes of most homes. Every day, you will receive one pass per activity:

Please bring your own linens, towels, spices, oils, paper and plastic goods, i.e. paper towels, napkins, toilet paper, garbage bags, salt, pepper and oils. The kitchen is well equipped with all necessary appliances, dishes, glass and silverware as well as serving dishes, etc. To rent linens and towels we recommend Gale Force Rentals in Ocean View. They deliver and pick up.

General House Rules

Thanks for renting our home. We hope you enjoy your stay. Here are the basic rules of the house:

Age Requirements: Guests must be 25 or older to book.
Linens and Towels: Please bring your own. We supply pillows and blankets. All mattresses have pads. If you wish to rent linens and towels or chairs and umbrellas etc, we recommend Gale Force Rentals in Ocean View. They deliver and pick up.
Wifi & Passwords: Passwords will be at the home or in your check in instructions.
Smoking: Absolutely no smoking ANYTHING in the house.
Kitchen & Baths: Well stocked with all essentials to cook for the advertised occupancy - but no spices or paper goods. Please bring garbage bags, napkins, paper towels and toilet paper as well as any spices or oils you may wish to use for cooking.
Pets: No pets are allowed by tenants.
Cleaning Supplies: There will be a few provided. It varies by home but most have brooms, vaccum cleaners, sponges.
Coffee Makers: Drip unless otherwise stated.
Washer and Dryer: All homes have them. Usually there is detergent around but we encourage you to bring your own.
Keys: Keys are either at the house or electronic. Instructions are given when the balance is paid.
Cancellation: Most policies are strict. We encourage the purchase of travel insurance, which is available from us or other vendors. Please consult your lease.
Parking: Please park under the house. Parking on the street is prohibited without passes.
BBQ: No barbecuing is allowed on the patios. Please use the charcoal bbq and purchase or bring your own coals, matches and fluid.
Chairs and Umbrellas: Some are provided at this home. But it is NOT gauranteed.
Garbage: Please use ties on your bags and deposit it into the container. If there is a posted schedule, please follow it.
Check In / Check Out: 3p / 10a (unless otherwise agreed). Please try not to arrive early or stay late without written consent from management. The cleaners have priority. Occasionally, you can park at the house and go to the beach if the home is not yet clean. But please do NOT go inside while the cleaners are there.

When you check out, please return anything you moved to its original position including all interior or exterior furniture, pillows, games, etc. Please check that windows are closed and that the AC is set to 72.

What a perfect place to spend time at the beach. The location is outstanding, just a short walk across the street to the beach. Four bed house makes it perfect for a family. Kids love the "twisty" stairs to the upper level for a great view of the area.

My family had a wonderful time. The beach was only steps away. Which was lovely for the parents of a toddler! Plenty of room for the 8 of us. The outside shower and ground floor bathroom were so convenient! The view of the ocean from each deck. The sound of the surf was always in the background! The furniture was a little dated. There was adequate parking.

We had a lovely stay and the location can't be beat! Just one house back from the beach, and you can see the ocean from all three decks quite clearly. The house was roomy and accommodated our group of seven easily. The neighborhood is quiet, and only a 5 minute drive (or 30 minute walk) into Bethany town. Will be back next year!

Everything was fantastic. Lots of little extras like umbrellas, chairs, extra deck furniture cushions, etc. we used the last of the grilling charcoal but contributed dishwasher soap, laundry soap, and kitchen tras bags for the next renters to compensate. Only tiny issue…one of the pull-out plastic produce drawers in the refrigerator developed a crack. Drawer is fully functional. We removed the drawer and super-glued the crack; then let it sit for24 hours. We put it back in and it worked good as new for our last four days.

We had another wonderful vacation at the Kaplan's house. We love the views from multiple decks especially for the sunrise. The house is well equipped and maintained. The upgrades were duly noted. The walk to the beach is our favorite part. We would recommend this to any family of 8!

Great location for a beach house. Perfect space for 8 people as advertised. Minutes away from the beach with great views of the ocean from multiple decks. Could be updated a bit but we loved the place as is. Already booked for next year.

Fantastic location to beach entrances in South Bethany! A little dated inside, but we had everything we needed. Great views of the ocean and the moon rise! Though no fault of the property, there was house construction going on across the street which was a little distracting, but overall it was a great trip, and I would highly recommend this property! Thanks!

We stayed Thursday through Monday & the location in South Bethany is great! The Beach was not crowded and the house is directly behind the oceanfront, home so is it extremely close to the beach. There is a nice view of the ocean from the living room and the rooftop deck. Jeremy was extremely nice and accommodating to work with. He was able to confirm the outlets on the cable router so that we could bring our child’s video monitor and view him while he was sleeping. This was very important for us as he has special needs. Since the home was not rented the day before we arrived and the day we were leaving, he was very accommodating and allowed us a flexible check in and check out date. Again that was very helpful due to our son’s special needs and need for daily naps. The home is dated and the furniture was a mix of random pieces. But we not too picky, so that wasn’t a big deal. The location was more important to us. We had issues with the WiFi, which became frustrating as we had teenagers needing to connect their laptops so they could get homework done. It worked the 1st 2 days & after that we didn’t have any WiFi. And Jeremy was very quick to respond to a question about this. He said that maybe too many people are trying to connect and it was taxing the Wi-Fi. We really spent most of her time on the beach and at Indian River surfing, boogie boarding & enjoying the ocean, set of the Wi-Fi wasn’t too much of an issue. But when we did need it and couldn’t have access to it that was a bit frustrating. Overall, wed stay here again. Jeremy was great to work with!

Our second year staying at this property for 4th of July week. We like the proximity to beach access and the decks on the east side of the house. A pleasant week overall. Even though it was not a huge issue, I was disappointed that we never received any lightbulbs after I reported that several lamps did not have one. The cleaners could do a better job of being sure the house is ready for the next occupants. On arrival we found a loaded wallet and several articles of clothing in the top drawer of the master BR dresser. Also we found a used sheet on the floor under one of the beds. Please keep this rental Friday to Friday, as that is a big draw for us.

We rented the house in Sept of 2017 as a way of celebrating my birthday. The house was one house away from the beach, which was great. There was plenty of parking. We were asked to bring linens, and we also brought blankets and pillows, but there were some already there so we didn't need what we brought. The house was great for the 8 of us: two families with children. The house had a newer kitchen counter, but was otherwise dated. This didn't bother us at all. Everything was very very clean, which was awesome. There were plenty of dishes for all of us, and plenty of pots and pans. There were a bunch of books in a closet by the bathrooms that we didn't discover until the last day. The outdoor decks were great, with plenty of places to sit. Bring your own beach chairs! We also were able to get a week-end only rental, which was perfect for us. There was a third floor to the house was closed, presumably the owner's part of the house. The owner was not around. We had the house to ourselves. One note: the wifi password we were sent via email was wrong, but the right one was posted on the fridge.

We stayed the week of independence day. Pros: Right across the street from the beach access, nice large deck with furniture, roomy enough for 8 (We had 6). good selection of kitchen items, dishes, and flatware, very good view of the S. Bethany fireworks from the Crows Nest, had beach chairs and umbrellas available to use, outside shower, faucet at street to rinse feet. The AC worked well and the place was clean. Toilet and sink on ground level. Covered parking and keyless entry. Cons: There is a small grill but no BBQ tools, the mattresses were not very comfortable, pillows were small and thin (bring your own), shower in second bathroom was very small; you can't bend over in it. Wi-Fi was generally weak as if many people were using the same stream. No icemaker (Had ice trays).

We were very happy with our beach rental. The house was very comfortable and well-equipped. We enjoyed the decks and loved being so close to the beach. It was our first time in Bethany, and we were very happy with the location. It was convenient to get into town - which is quite lovely, and close to OC where our teenage boys enjoyed the boardwalk. There was plenty to do for all of us. The only downside was that the beach was too steep for boogie boarding - but that seemed to be the case on all the surrounding beaches. All in all, it was a fantastic location and the house was quite fine.

We rented this property after seeing it on the VRBO website. This was definitely not a VRBO as we never had any contact with the owner though some of my questions and concerns should have been addressed by the owner, not a property manager. We rented it based upon its curb appeal: new siding, windows, and decks. This was misleading as the interior was worn and outdated. Specifically, The bathrooms were 1960's tile and formica, a broken shower door had been simply replaced with a shower curtain, and the built-in cabinets and drawers were plywood and dirty and in need of paint. Furniture consisted of yard sale items or mismatched cast-off (e.g., 3 different couches in the living room) and the kitchen had redundant appliances (e.g., 5 coffee carafes, 3 without corresponding bases). WiFi was provided ..... to the entire neighborhood! There was no password, and at one point 24 unknown devices were online. We were reluctant to use such an insecure system, and the property manager said the owner would not correct this. The 3 star rating was based upon the value for what was charged. Unless the interior is refurbished, it should not be priced as it is. The best part was its excellent location, just steps away from the beach access path. The property manager was very responsive to our questions and concerns and very professional. He sent a cleaning crew out immediately to wash the smudges and grime off the faces of all the doors and cabinets.

This house is located in a great location. Features beautiful ocean views and the walk to the beach couldn't be quicker unless is was waterfront. The house was very clean and the bedrooms were quite spacious. We really enjoyed the decks and their ocean views!

We have stayed at the Kaplan house many times before prior to the second story addition. As much as we love the location, will not reserve it again. Both the living room furniture and deck furniture need updated for more comfort. There was only one chair to sit on outside which was not great for some who have back issues.
