Washashore is an inviting 3-bedroom, 3-bath beachfront retreat located on Bald Head Island’s scenic South Beach. With walls of windows throughout, this one-level home is filled with natural light and sweeping ocean views from the kitchen, dining area, and living room. Step outside onto the spacious wrap-around deck to soak in salty breezes, enjoy sunset skies, or simply relax to the sound of the waves. Its central island location means you’re just a short golf cart ride from the harbor, Maritime Market, and the Bald Head Island Club.

Thoughtfully equipped for easy beach living, Washashore provides everything you need for a day by the ocean, including beach chairs, toys, and a large cooler. The shaded ground-level area offers additional space to relax, store gear, or prep for your beach adventures, making coming and going a breeze.

Inside, the open floor plan creates a welcoming space for gathering and unwinding. The home has been tastefully updated with fresh furnishings, updated flooring, new carpeting, paint, and HD flat-screen TVs throughout. The bedroom layout is ideal for one or two families, with each bedroom featuring its own private bathroom. The third bedroom offers flexible sleeping arrangements with a king bed plus a twin with trundle—perfect for adults or kids alike.

If you've never been to Bald Head Island, you're in for a real treat. You'll love driving the well kept golf carts or bicycling along the beach road or through the lush Maritime Forest. Visit Old Baldy, the oldest lighthouse in North Carolina, and learn about the Island's pirate and Civil War history. Join the Conservancy and take a turtle walk where you might see a loggerhead turtle lay her eggs or watch a nest hatch.

If you wish to attend the club please apply ASAP. Please visit the BHI Club website to review their NEW rules & fees. Keep in mind there are new rules regarding what days you can attend the club and what activities guest members can use. Contact the club directly with questions. We do not control club rates, rules, or restrictions. No discount or refund will be provided if club membership is restricted or denied.

-Maximum Occupancy: 8 Occupants - Children must be counted within the maximum occupancy unless they are under the age of two (2) and are sleeping in a crib.

-Tenant Requirements: Tenant stated on the Agreement/Booking must be at least twenty-five (25) years of age, and acknowledge that they will occupy the Property during the entire tenancy.

-Washashore is a no frills oceanfront property with incredible views, a huge deck and a fantastic location. It is not a luxury home, and the rate reflects that. Please note that refunds aren’t issued for expectations of higher-end features or finishes.

-Manager and owner of the rental property are not responsible for citations received while staying at the property.

-Be respectful of the house and contents - it is someone's home. Respect the neighbors and neighborhood.

-No events or parties- If determined that a party/event is taking place at property, management has the right to evict tenants and guests with no refund given.

-If determined that a party took place on any of the nights reserved, reservation guest will be charged $500, no exceptions!

-No uninvited guests without permission.

-Shoals Club is not included with the rental of this home.

iTrip NC Beaches Cancellation Policy

North Carolina Beaches

Cancellation 60 days or more before your stay will receive a refund less the cancellation fee of $350. Cancellation 60 days or less before your stay will not receive a refund unless the same dates are re-booked. If that occurs you will receive a refund less the cancellation fee of $350. Additional details with regards to cancellation policies and procedures may be found in Section #15 of the Rental Agreement as provided at checkout.

Washahore was in a great location on Baldhead with quick accessibllity to the beach Maritime Market, and BHI Club, which is available through a guest membership. Make sure to book that more than a week in advance to avoid a $100 fee. The cottage was comfortable with 3 Bed a bath. Kitchen is open to the family room and is well equipped and very organized. 2 TV’s are available-when in the master and another in the family room. Spectrum TV is available for local channels with RUKU available for your subscriptions. There are 2-4 seater golf carts available which run quite well and a well maintained however flaps were not already on the cart and after Christmas before New Year’s it was quite cool and breezy. ITrip management company was very easy to work with and quite accommodating and readily available for any questions that arose.

Washashore was a great place to spend our family Thanksgiving. We have been to BHI several times for the holiday and this was probably the best experience. There are 2 beach access points right on Silversides trail an easy walk from the home. The view is incredible from the main living room and deck. The home has all the things you would expect and was as described. Would definitely stay again.

First VRBO I didn’t want to leave. House was perfect for a family of 4. Had room for 4 more. House was very clean and basically brand new interior. Kitchen was fully equipped with new appliances, including washer and dryer. No need to bring tubs of groceries or etc.. we ordered groceries delivered from maritime market before our arrival. 2 min walk to beach (or 4 houses down). We were visiting with 3 families 4 doors down on Silversides Trail. Location was perfect near grocery and shopping. Literally middle of island location. 2 golf carts were fully charged and functional. Both in good shape. We highly recommend this home.

This is our 3rd stay at Washashore in the past 5 years. Last year we stayed on BHI in a different rental but missed Washashore and immediately booked for this year. The house is the perfect size for a small group or just the two of us. The windows and views are incredible. The house is very close to the island's center, making it convenient to the grocery and anywhere else you want to take a golf cart ride. We enjoyed our stay! We rent a home on bald head once or twice a year and just love the feeling of being a world away. The views were beautiful from this home and convenient to two beach access locations. The beds were comfortable and bathrooms clean. We did have an issue with the plumbing in one of the bathrooms and received prompt communication from itrip in efforts to find a resolution. The living room /dining room/ kitchen are open concept which was wonderful for dining and entertaining friends that were visiting BHI as well. We would recommend this home!

Washashore was a great spot for our 25th anniversary of first Trip BHI. Located directly across from beach with two beach access points within 50 yards. Kitchen well-appointed. Great decks. Two peppy 4-passenger golf carts. Quick ride to Market, restaurants, etc. Good communication prior to arrival. 3 bedrooms with ensuite baths.

We just spent 6 nights at Washashore with two adults, a 7 year old, 3 year old, and 8 month old. The layout of the house is perfect for vacationing with little kids because it’s just one level with the bedrooms branching off the living / kitchen so it’s easy to keep an eye on the kids. The view is the absolutely best! We loved the big windows that made it feel like we were outside even when we were stuck inside on a rainy day. We used both golf carts to get around the island all day and did not feel like the slowed down at all. We kept them on the charger at the house but had no issue with the golf carts losing any speed. We were impressed with how fast the golf carts would go. We rode the two bikes, used the beach chairs / towels, and sand toys. It was nice that the house had these things so we didn’t have to bring them. We enjoyed our evening walks to the cul de sac with the kids and felt like this was the best locations for an ocean view while being really close to jailhouse, midway coffee, the market and more. Just a 10 min golf cart ride to the marina and a little less to the turtle conservatory. Best part - THE SUNSET! We will definitely try to book here the next time we visit BHI.

The house was nicely situated right by the beach with fantastic views of the ocean. The process by which we entered the house was nicely documented. No issues with gaining access to the house. The house was very clean. My only complaint would be that some of the towels were stained a bit. We did have an issue with the golf carts. iTrip was very, very response and had are issue resolved in under 30 minutes. All in all we had a great time.

Excellent location with a fantastic panoramic view of South Beach. The beach is massive and never crowded. Open floor plan all on one level is comfortable and outside shower was a hit. Central location makes for short golf cart trips to the marina, market or East Beach. Cycling on the island is a favorite. Support from iTrip staff was always prompt.

What a great week at Washashore. Perfect location to the beach, to shopping and to restaurants. Washashore provided everything we needed for an enjoyable week away. Ian did have us leave a day early, but that was by our choice.

The home we rented was just as described and very clean. We had one issue with some ants on the porch getting into a bedroom sliding door which was addressed by the company immediately. I would definitely recommend this company and property again.

We just finished a c 2 week stay at Washashore The house was perfect for us. First week there were 5 of us (myself, wife and three kids ages 2, 6, and 8). We had three additional family members join for the second week. My BIL bunked up with the older kids using one of the the trundle beds. He was all good with the set-up, as frankly he limited time in the bedroom to just sleeping/using adjoining bathroom/shower. The deck is amazing. 180 degree views of the ocean. And ability to move around during day to optimize shade/sun depending on individual preferences. Beach access was c. 150 feet away and street is super quiet so very easy for our older kids to walk to beach in the morning and fly a kite (we could keep eye on their whereabouts with the kites while we had morning coffees on the deck.) House had everything a family could need. And the ITrip management team were awesome. The island lost power briefly on the second night. This seemed to have tripped the fuse box and a couple of rooms were without power after electricity was back up at the house. ITrip team sent out an electrician/handyman to sort out within an hour or two. South beach house was perfect for our family. Close to BHI club and maritime market and easy distances to marina and east beach. Location, house set-up and the management team were all great. We hope to visit again!

This home was great. The layout was perfect for my family with all the bedrooms in opposite corners with a great open concept living/dining/kitchen for all to enjoy. The location couldn’t have been any better with the beach right across the street with unobstructed 180 degree views. The home was well appointed which left us not wanting for anything. I would stay there again and recommend it to all.

We had an amazing spring break week at Washashore. House worked out perfectly for us (parents + 2 teenagers). Property is centrally located on island with easy access to market, restaurants, shops and short drive/bike to BHI club. The two golf carts for the property were great as my one child could drive (16 year old) so kids had freedom to explore island. We had rented on BHI before and these carts were really fast - easily passing others! We did team scavenger hunts with "Where's Tippy"! Great house to see both sunrise and sunsets, although we did make trips to East Beach and West Beach to view them from the shore. Beach access is really close (50 yard walk) so popping down to beach is really easy. House was well appointed and comfortable. All the appliances and outdoor grill worked great. Contacted iTrip a few times during trip for some non-urgent issues and they were quick to respond and resolve. Overall, great experience and would highly recommend and stay there again.

This was our second time booking Washashore on BHI. This time we booked 10 days and want to stay even longer next year. The winter sunsets are amazing and this house may have the best views this time of year. We love the private cul-de-sac street with little to no traffic. It was like we had our own private beach. The grocery market is just down the street and the two golf carts make it easy to get around and explore. We cooked dinner at the house every night and love the gas cooktop. They sell wine and beer at the market but you need to bring your own liquor or take the ferry back to South Port. Highly recommend the house to get away and unwind. Cheers

The Washashore property was exactly as advertised. Because the house is set at 45 degrees on the lot & has full windows on two sides, we had a 160-180 degree view of the beach!!! We had a rainstorm one day & we’re still able to sit inside, enjoy the beach vista & watch the storm roll in. The home is well kept & very clean. Our only issue was a broken beach umbrella but the house had a second one. The island is very quiet & very safe. BHI golf club was the place to spend time when we were not on the beach. Tons of walking/ running/ biking available & no worries about ANY car traffic!!

Great house and great location sleeps 6 but it would be a tight fit only one big room to share with 3 bedrooms no major complaints have been to Bald Head many times before one of our best rentals

We took a weekend break with children and grandparents and Washashore was a great choice, being right on the ocean. Nothing better than waking up to a view of the sea. The home, was comfortable, cozy and convenient and worked out well for the 6 of us. Thank you

My family and I truly enjoyed our 4 night escape to BHI at Washashore. Being early March, we understood the island was just starting to emerge from hibernation, so did not expect everything to be up and running (or have full hours). The email sent by the iTrip team prior to arrival provided more than ample information, links etc. for us to do our diligence and plan a fun vacation. The house was perfect for our 6 person crew with amazing views, especially sunsets. The main room and decks are great places to gather, eat, and enjoy each others company. While simple, all of our needs were met and the location is fantastic. We were able to obtain a temporary membership to the BHI Club, where we dined several times in addition to playing golf and tennis. The kitchen has more than what we needed to pull together meals in the house. We did encounter a few challenges, but the iTrip team were very responsive via text to facilitate solutions. One of the two golf carts was not fully recharging, the iTrip team loaned us their cart until it was fixed. We had a cable box die. The iTrip team arranges for service and we were able to use the second TV box to watch basketball games etc. While the house is a bit older and is in need of a few updates/repairs, I would stay here again as it was a comfortable place to relax and from which to explore all that BHI has to offer. The ITrip management team were very helpful from start to finish in helping take care of our needs.

We stayed at Washashore on Bald Head Island Jan 2021. It felt like we had the entire beach to ourselves. The house was great and had amazing sunset views every night. We can't way to go back soon. Thank you!

We had a great time at this home and the whole process was so simple. The home was available early and ready for us and the managers were so responsive to our questions via text. Golf carts, bikes and all the other amenities were perfect. This was the first time visiting the island for more than a day and we will be using Itrip and this team again for a trip this summer!

We were scheduled to stay at a beachfront house on Bald Head Island with its own private beach access. We were disappointed to learn the house we chose had severe water damage the day before our trip. ITrip worked with us throughout the day to find us alternative arrangements. The house had a beautiful view of the beach with a wrap around deck and two public beach accesses within feet of the house. Thank you iTrip for working with us during a difficult situation.
