Deer Lodge Unit 349
3.0/5 stars
I was traveling for one week with my boyfriend. The lodge is well located and very close to everything. We walked everyday to the chairlifts/gondola and were really pleased with the view. The kitchen is great, although there are missing basic things to cook with (example: a spatula! pretty much anything you cook for breakfast requires a spatula, or a decent can opener) The heating system was really weird at night, sometimes we'd wake up frozen in the middle of the night and one hour later would wake up in sweat! The heating is central and we did not have access to the control. The place is overall a little rundown and not renovated. Kitchen cabinets all scrached up, drawers not closing, leaking fausset under the sink, scratched up tub, closet door impossible to close and wably chairs. I guess that for our needs it was all good, but I was still a little disapointed concerning the price we pay, but I guess it's Whistler, so you get what you get! Also, it's a shame that the hot tub is in the lodge accross the street, but at least we had access, so that was good. Last thing, the fire alarm went off at 10pm so we had to evacuate in the street, I was shocked to notice that there was not ONE staff who assisted us or checked up on us! Everyone was just outside leaning against the potential biulding on fire, and when we came back in the staff was sitting at the desk at the computer, not looking out for us and reassuring us of anything.

Deer Lodge 349 is a small but comfortable studio. We had 4 people in the studio sharing the queen size murphy bed and the queen sized pull out couch and it was a little tight. However, we knew what we were getting into. This place is perfect for a couple looking for a skiing getaway.
