This tranquil, picturesque European styled home is hidden in a grove of aspens and firs on a hillside and offers breath-taking panoramic views of the Mt. Werner ski runs and the Yampa Valley. You are literally away from it all while being perfectly situated to both the mountain base area (2 miles) and downtown (3 miles), making it the perfect Steamboat vacation retreat.
This spacious, 4,000 sq. ft. property has the external appearance of a Tuscan Villa and is beautifully decorated like an Alpine Chalet. It includes three separate living areas with ample privacy. You can relax and have some quiet time in one area, while kids, or kids at heart, enjoy themselves in one of the other areas of the home.
Each of the four bedrooms has its own private bath. There are two wood-burning fireplaces which add warmth and ambiance to the upstairs and downstairs. There are four expansive decks which provide views of Mt. Werner, Yampa Valley, and the lovely landscaped berm and forest surrounding the hot tub.
The front door opens to a welcoming entry hall which leads to both the main level and stairwell to the second floor. The main level
offers the Reading Room, the Aspen Room, two downstairs bedrooms, a wet bar and utility room, the Family Room, and the back deck with hot tub and planted berm area.
The Reading Room is a cozy location in front of the downstairs fireplace with leather and upholstered chairs and a challenging library. The Aspen Room is a larger living area which extends into the aspen grove in which the house is built. It holds two three seat sofas, one of which opens into a queen size bed. It also holds two upholstered swivel chairs, a game table, and a Black Forest antique cabinet.
The wet bar/utility room holds a half bath, under counter refrigerator, ice maker, dishwasher and washer dryer.
The Family Room features two custom made sofas, a large antler chandelier and a big screen TV. There is a surround sound music system for the Family Room and a separate music system for the entire downstairs with speakers on the back deck by the hot tub.
The two downstairs bedrooms have private baths. The Princess Bedroom has a queen size bed with ample closets. It opens onto a south facing deck with views of Yampa Valley. The bath has a tub/shower combination. The Cowboys and Indians Bedroom features two brass twin beds with western furnishings. The bath has a tub/shower combination.
The entry hall stairway leads to the upstairs living area with two master bedrooms with private baths, a living room with wood-burning fireplace, the dining room, and the kitchen and pantry.
The Alpine Room living area surrounds the fireplace with a large sofa and two love seats, both of which open to beds.
The dining room features a unique antler chandelier and an antique wood table which seats 8-12. The upstairs opens onto a large deck which can hold two outdoor dining tables, lounge chairs, grill and casual chairs.
The kitchen is fully equipped and features both granite and butcher block countertops, a ceramic cooktop range, convection oven, microwave, dishwasher, trash compactor, toaster, blender, crock pot, fondue pot, coffee grinder plus a large refrigerator and stocked pantry. Check it our before you shop!
The upper deck offers a stunning view of Mt. Werner and the west facing ski runs. There is a separate music system which serves the upstairs, including the deck.
The former master bedroom (the Polo Suite) features a king size bed, lounge chair, dresser and TV. The bath is separated into a walk-in closet, make up counter, and a bath with a tub/shower combination.
The new master bedroom (the Juliette Suite) features a forest view, king size bed, antique French chandelier, French armoire and classic decorations, bay window, and a Juliette balcony. The master bath has a Jacuzzi tub and separate shower, and a walk-in closet.

Originally started as a summer resort destination, Steamboat has become renowned for its world-class skiing and mountain biking options. And your Steamboat vacation rental will put your family in the middle of it all.
Winter activities include skiing, snowmobiling, snowboarding, biking, sledding and fishing. The city houses two ski areas – Steamboat and Howelsen Hill, Colorado's oldest continuously operated ski area. Or simply play in the smooth, dry snow, referred to as Champagne Powder, for which Steamboat is known.
Mountain biking is huge in Steamboat. Known as Bike Town USA, the city has trails for all ages and skill levels. Hundreds of miles of single track, as well as over 50 miles of downhill and freeride terrain.
** In March 2020 when the resort shut down, we gave refunds for any unused nights and would do that again.
