5/1/19- 5/4/19 We had a great time staying in Mountain Splendor. We loved playing pool, hot tubing and sitting out on rockers in the morning. We came for our oldest daughters College Graduation from CNU. We packed her up and coming back to Texas with us. We had a great time. We had a bear come up behind the cabin and rest for awhile. We loved the windows so we could stay safe and take pictures of him. After resting for awhile he went down the hill. First time we got to see a bear in all our visits.

Mountain Splendor is an amazing cabin! We loved the front porch! We especially liked the convenience of each bedroom having its own bathroom too. The decor was updated and fit our needs perfectly. This cabin is on top of the mountain and while you have neighbors on each side and in front it is private in the back. The cleanliness of the cabin was better than we have had at other cabins we have rented in the area but still had a few issues too. Overall this is a great cabin and we would love to return in the future.

We recently took a family trip to the Smokey Mountains and Mountain Splendor was the perfect retreat for our stay. We wanted the option to lounge around the cabin or go to downtown Gatlinburg for family fun, and the location and size of the cabin was great for our needs. The newly renovated kitchen was fun to cook in and the furniture around the cabin was updated and appealing. The weather was great during our stay and we were able to hang out on the porch and in the hot tub in the evenings. The bedrooms were also a nice size, and having a bathroom connected to each one was a huge bonus for us. We will recommend staying at Mount Splendor to our family and friends, and if we ever visit the Smokey Mountains again, we will be back!

Our family visit to Mountain Splendor was so peaceful and relaxing! We would highly recommend a stay in this charming cabin! With 3 nicely furnished bedrooms and each having an adjacent bathroom was a big plus! The living area was welcoming and comfortable with a wood fireplace that we cozied up by each evening! The kitchen was clean and and all appliances were up to date. The dining area was large enough to provide seating for us all! And the hot tub was a great hang out spot! Mountain Splendor exceeded all our expectations and we would love to return in the near future!

We have stayed at quite a few cabins in this area and this one is the cleanest! The owners have put a lot of time and thought into making it comfortably furnished and pretty. We especially liked the gas fireplace in the master bedroom and the ramp was handy instead of having to climb steps. We highly recommend staying at this cabin for a cozy restful getaway and to enjoy the beautiful views of the Smokey Mountains!

We have stayed in many cabins over the years in the Pigeon Forge area. This cabin is the cleanest and coziest we have found. We really liked the ramp from the drive to front porch, no steps to climb! The cabin is furnished and decorated very beautifully and we felt very much at home there. A special feature is an electric fireplace in the master bedroom. We also enjoyed the hot tub on the back porch. The owners have put a lot of work and thought into this cabin and we highly recommend it! Enjoy! Rex & Janet from Laura Ohio

The Cabin is great; the location is great, but the water smells like sewage. You cant take a shower and get clean, you literally smell like a fart. Forget brushing your teeth.

We stayed at Mountain Splendor over Labor Day weekend and it was perfect in every way for our family of 6. The pool table and hot tub were a huge hit for the kids! Of course, the cabin's exceptionally clean atmosphere was also note worthy. The beautiful setting- serenity of the woods and the songs of birds made for a very peaceful place to kick back, relax, play games with the kids and just get re-energized for the busy-ness that life brings. We would totally recommend Mountain Splendor as the perfect place to stay!

The actual house itself is nice, but there are many small items with it that management can fix but hasn't, that collectively add up to make the experience sub-par compared to the other houses we've rented for vacations. Here is what you should be aware of:- Again, nice quality actual house. Great location away from town. You're definitely out in nature. But not too far that it's a pain in the butt. Great actual house and location. We even saw some bears in the driveway at one point.- Five star review bribe - Management sent us an email before our stay was even completed, saying if we give a five-star review they will give us a Starbucks gift card. That's very unprofessional and ruins the point of the review system. Reviews should be honest and not influenced by bribes.- Sub-par cleaning service - The dishwasher in this house is hidden / disguised as cabinetry. The first 24 hours we thought there was no dishwasher and were hand-washing dishes. Then we found it when trying to open what we thought was a cabinet. Unfortunately, there were very rank, unwashed dishes it in from whenever the prior guest was there. Very gross. We ran it but the cleaners should have done that, and put away the dishes. Also the drinking glasses (particularly the wine glasses) don't match each other and were very dirty. We had to rewash dishes from the cabinet prior to using them. Then, randomly in the house we found someone's lighter on a dresser, a tin of chewing tobacco on one of the kids' beds that was not even made up completely.- Main TV did not work - The huge TV in the living room could not access the Xfinity service. There are instructions in the booklet which is nice, but it was just broken basically. They apparently know about this problem because it has "backup" instructions for how to get this TV to use the streaming Xfinity app. That worked the first night, but then days 2-3 that app was locked up to where you couldn't scroll channels or even click a button on it. Restarting the TV did nothing to fix it. The other TVs in the individual bedrooms could get the cable service fine, but not the main TV. - Broken furniture - The living room has a 3-seat couch, a 2-seat couch, and a chair, all matching brown leather. Looks nice. But then the arm rests are broken on them. Out of six arm rests among the these three pieces of furniture, only one side of the chair is in good shape and one side of the two-seat couch. By "broken" I mean the padding that goes on the armrest is gone to where you try to put your arm / head on it and instead of feeling padding you feel two metal or wooden bars.- No spices provided at all - Every other house we've rented has provided at least some very basics in the kitchen like salt, etc. Not here, where apparently everything gets completely cleaned out from prior guests. Certain basics like these, at other houses we've rented they have had sort of an honor system where you buy what you need and leave the non-perishables like ziplocks, spices, etc., and what happens is the house is basically "stocked" with these items. To try to cook a real meal and have literally nothing makes it very expensive and a hassle to do. For example you buy some ziplocks or salad dressing, you're only going to use a bit of it, and you can leave the rest for others. I guess the cleaning crews here take literally everything out each time which is just a bit annoying.- Small and thin quality towels - The bath towels are way too small and thin, like those probably found at a low-end motel. I'm a slender guy, but even still, trying to wrap one of these small towels over myself after a shower, you'll show a big leg slit like on a lady's dress!- The washer/dryer are about the worst ones you could possibly buy. We had to run a load of laundry because we ran out of towels, and for one load of towels I had to run the dryer three full cycles on max heat for the maximum amount of time. Three tries to dry one load of laundry is a bit insane, and remember these are thin towels. One cycle with this dryer was not even enough to dry our swimsuits. Air drying would have almost been faster.- There is literally no house number - Not only does this make it very hard to find the house at first (we had to try the door code to make sure it was the right one), but we also had arranged for an Amazon delivery and due to no number on the house, they would not deliver and just returned it to Amazon as undeliverable due to not being able to find the house.

We recently stayed at Mountain Splendor in the Smokies. It was a wonderful cabin that provided everything we needed and more. It was very clean and well kept, in a quiet area with good access to both Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. We really enjoyed being a bit away from all the tourist attractions but close enough to visit when we wanted to. We had five adults that stayed at the cabin and we found it quite roomy for all of us. The bonus we thought was an early morning visit from a small black bear who meandered by the cabin and then off into the woods!

We had a great time staying in a cabin just outside Pigeon Forge, TN. The cabin was very clean. The kitchen was very well supplied with plates, cups, silverware, and every piece of cookware that we needed. Beds were extremely comfortable. It was very convenient to have full baths off every bathroom. We were pleased to find we were well stocked with firewood. The temps were low in mid-March, 2018, so used the fireplace all but one night. We would definitely book one of these cabins again.

We arrived on a Friday mid February. We had some rain but it was warm. We are a family of 10! The cabin was roomy enough for all of us to hang out and sleep comfortably! The views are phenomenal. The owners have made some upgrades that make you feel like you are in their Home, not just a vacation rental! Our children enjoyed walking down the mountain and playing putt putt golf! What a blessing to be able to stay in Mountain Splendor!!

Cozy cabin tucked in the Smoky Mountains. Cabin views are beautiful inside and out. The quiet cabin is clean and nicely furnished. Each of the 3 bedrooms have a bathroom - which is very handy. The kitchen is adequately supplied for meal prep. If a grocery run is needed - one is not too far away! Great accommodation
