Water lover's paradise on the banks of the Nehalem river with another babbling brook right outside your window. Enjoy complete privacy on the riverside with decks and patios to enjoy the setting. We are just far enough from highway 26 to be quiet, but close enough so you can get to the coast in 20 minutes. Plenty of hiking trails with waterfalls in the area.
Enjoy room to roam on the main level with a large master bedroom (king), large bath and shower, complete kitchen, family room with fireplace and all the outdoor areas. If you have more than two people the bottom floor is accessible as well with two more bedrooms to choose from and an additional family room. There is also a half bath downstairs.
This is a great property for privacy. From the riverside you neither hear nor see any neighbors. You can roam about the property all you like enjoying the year-round creek and the riverfront patio with stairs right down to the river for swimming or launching a kayak. Great spot for fishing.
Interaction with guests
We often stay in the cottage down the path. We will try to be here to meet you and answer any questions and help you get situated, but we try to respect your privacy the rest of the time.
Other things to note
Obviously with rural settings internet can be a challenge, but we do have a wireless setup that uses cricket cellular and works pretty well. Cellular phone service is pretty decent for Cricket, AT&T and Verizon. Sprint and T-Mobile do not work well here.
There is a general store just a mile from here that manages to stock a little of everything and has better cel reception. They also have a gas station, restaurant, lounge and inn. The Elderberry Inn is great if you have additional guests. Camp 18 is another good option for food just 4 miles west.
Getting down to the river is a matter of walking down about 25 steps that feature a good sturdy handrail. There is a railing down there with another gate to access the river. Other areas of the property are fairly wild and can present risks for unattended children. There are some steep drop offs that are sometimes hidden by the brush, so please keep this in mind when exploring.
