Siltcoos Lake:

The largest lake on the central Oregon coast is also one of the region’s best fishing lakes, especially for warm water fish including largemouth bass.

and is one of the few lakes in Oregon where you can keep a wild coho salmon in season.

Siltcoos Lake is a sprawling 3,164 acres located between Florence and Reedsport in the wonderful dune country of the central coastline.

Siltcoos is one of the most celebrated largemouth bass fisheries in Oregon.

You’ll find tons of good bass cover all over the lake, including fallen trees, drop-offs.

Crappie also hang out around structure and found in shallower water during the spring.

Siltcoos is known to have good populations of less-pursued species including yellow perch, sunfish and bullhead catfish.

Trout are not the primary quarry for anglers here, but the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife does stock a modest number of rainbow trout here. Look for those plantings to take place in late winter or early spring (March and April are good times to check the stocking schedule linked below).

Native cutthroat trout also live in the lake and its tributary streams and may be kept as part of your daily trout limit.

The coho salmon fishery here opens in October and runs through December. Fishing for these fish is usually not productive until significant rainfall draws in these large fish, which most often happens in November.

There are a modest number of coho caught and kept here, but it’s a fairly unique opportunity. Boaters catch most of the adult coho, often by trolling wobbling lures in the creek channels the salmon use to return to their home streams.

What’s nearby:

This home is a quick drive from multiple access points to the Oregon Dunes and ocean
beaches including popular access on South Jetty Road then the city of Florence is five miles north. The charming Old Town section of the city

coastal forests flourishing in Douglas fir and Sitka spruce extend nearly to the Ocean.

Some trails wind up over and through sand dunes offering hikers the opportunity to
experience the unique natural wonders of this area. Bring your camera!
Paddle Siltcoos River between Siltcoos Lake and the Pacific Ocean. This slow-moving,
three-mile river is so ideal for paddlers that it’s a designated Canoe Trail. Take a scenic drive up Hwy 101 to Heceta Head Lighthouse where free tours are
offered daily.

Beautiful lake front house

Beautiful lake front house with kayaks to use. Very big house, comfortable for a big group

Great spot.....but
5/5 stars
Staying at this place was great! Me and my team were out here auditing the city (we are auditors) and needed a place to stay. This house had plenty of rooms for me and my team of auditors. It was so big that I even had room to do my CrossFit exercises every morning. Tuesday: Power cleans, Push-ups, & squats Wednesday: Just a walk around the neighborhood Thursday: Turkish Getups and Farmer's Carries The local food options were just to die for. The only complaints I had were that we only got one key to the house (had to take extra care not to lose it), and the water smelled like lake water. The seemed to be clean enough to drink because usually I have stomach issues if the water isn't clean. None of my team of auditors noted any stomach issues either after drinking the water, so this error was not material enough to modify our opinion of the house. Overall, I would highly recommend this gorgeous home to anyone (especially auditors) looking to stay in Florence, OR (but don't tell anyone about this place, because I want to be able to stay here more often)

Perfect Family Vacation
5/5 stars
What an incredible house for our extended family. The views are breathtaking. Great rooms and spaces with comfortable beds for all 12 of us. The kitchen was stocked with lots of good stuff and we loved being able to cook meals together and eat together in the massive great room. We used the little dock to jump and play. My only complaint was the ladder you use climb in and out of the water was broken..

Beautiful location on the Oregon Coast
3/5 stars
We enjoyed our stay at this beautiful home on the Oregon coast. Two floors and plenty of room for our kids and grandkids. There were several issues during our stay so I’d give it 3.5 of 5 stars. __To keep it simple:__Pros:__-Location, location, location- being right on the water was everything we wanted. Using the dock, kayaking, fishing, swimming (with wetsuits) and all the kids hanging out was what we enjoyed most.__-Having separate space upstairs and downstairs allowed room for families to have some privacy.__-Nice deck space both covered below and uncovered above__Cons__-A BIG one: No place in the listing does it mention 75 stairs down from driveway level to the dock below. You enter the home only a couple steps up but then stairs for the rest; 55 from bottom floor to dock level. Since we had two family members with mobility issues this did not allow them to enjoy the outside dock and be with family below. Mobility issues and stair access should always be disclosed. Probably NOT a good place for anyone with mobility or stair climbing issues. __-Lots of splinters from wood railing going down stairs to dock outside__-Master bedroom slider door for bathroom almost impossible to close. Called for repair on first day but no one came out till the day before we left (and couldn’t fix).__-Concerning call 3 days before our 8 day trip was to end asking to send out a repair guy for the dock. Confused as we did not request a repair, I asked them to come after we left. Then received an email the next day stating no more than one person should be on the ramp to the dock as it had a temporary fix? We had up to 8 people on the dock all days going back and forth! We should have been told about this prior to our stay or made aware. No injuries or issues happened but concerning we were not advised until 6 days into our trip.__-There was no outside dining on the lower deck as advertised but we made it work in the large kitchen and dining above for our group of ten__-No soap in bathrooms (3 bathrooms and one bar of soap left in kitchen only), no foil/wrap or plastic in kitchen and not one cleaning product for counters or spills, etc. When we travel we like to keep our place clean as we do our home. Had to go to the store and buy $25 in basics I have always found in rentals we have stayed in. Left items behind in home.____This IS a beautiful place. Providing everything a guest needs to keep it clean and a clear statement regarding mobility issues should be a part of the listing. Also being advised of issue with dock before we used it. Over all it IS a lovely place.

This home needs some attention
3/5 stars
Dear Jim, We enjoyed our family reunion at the Vista Point Lake House, however, we feel that you and the owners need to know the following. I will send photos to follow up on this list. Our son-in-law is a home inspector in Fort Collins, Colorado. He supplied information in quotes on the first points below. 1. "There was sewage smell through basement HVAC ventilation. Property Management claimed a pump failure. Holding tanks should be sealed." (We called on this on Thursday, June 1 and a part was ordered and installed and the sewage smell stopped on June 2. However, our son-in-law felt there still might be a mold smell in the lower level washer/dryer room.) 2. "Dock broken (unsafe) rope connection is not meant to hold body weight." 3. Bird droppings on top level exit to deck should be cleaned off for every new renter. 4. Top level stove top is cracked and sharp edges are not safe on the right side of glass top. 5. Top level dryer door needs to be lifted to close properly. Hinge screws need to be tightened. 6. Outdoor stair railing is sturdy, but needs sanding and sealing to preserve it. 7. On lower level northeast corner of deck might have bat droppings that could be removed for each new renter. 8. On steps to the lake, blackberry bushes are encroaching onto the steps in several spots. 9. Grass by the lake had been cut, but long cut grass not cleaned up and old rope removed. 10. Rusting leather deck chair not a very welcome seat on the grass by the lake. 11. The guest book left for comments had a last message in May 13, 2023, mentioning a new book was in order. Entry before that was in 2015. I straightened the game closet over the fireplace and found a more recent guest book, with the last entry being in January 2020. Some of the pages had been torn out and some were just loose. Consider starting with a new book. 12. I'm not a gardener, but wondered if the grasses at the top of the property should be trimmed way low at the end of the season. This year's new green growth didn't look like it had much space to grown in. 13. On the top level -- master bedroom -- the pocket door into the bathroom doesn't slide on the carpet. We could pull it 1/3 closed and had to just leave it there. Not much privacy available. 14. Also in the master bathroom, the right sink stopper doesn't go up or down and it takes forever for the sink to drain. We both used the left-hand sink. 15. In the half-bath, the toilet seat is attached with one screw. It needs repairing or a new seat. This is a beautiful location, but needs some tender loving care to really make it special. I'll send photos separately. Many thanks, Pam Gatten 617-877-6337 [email protected]

This is a great house for 2 families. Amazingly peaceful. We have enjoyed it very much. Our recommendation is that there should be one more full bathroom. on the bottom floor as there are 3 bedrooms Thx

Our family loves it here. Waking up to sunshine over the lake is spectacular. It is so quiet we all slept so well. We loved the dock, hanging out and using the kayaks and canoe was very fun. The short drive to the dunes and hikes and downtown made for a great trip. Thank you!

Beautiful Home!
5/5 stars
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Vista Point Lake House. We were originally supposed to stay at another location but when the owners pulled out, we were upgraded to this beautiful home and it was definitely an upgrade! The house has basically two apartments so each couple had our own private place to stay. The kitchens were well equipped and the home had everything we needed to make our stay a relaxing and enjoyable one. Having access to the lake and even a canoe and kayaks was a fun bonus. Jim was very good at communicating. We had some hot water issues but he worked to make sure it was all taken care of. There were only four of us, but the place would have been very comfortable with even more guests. Would definitely stay here again.

Our crew had a wonderful stay here. The lake views were beautiful. There was plenty of space for two families and a good yard for the dogs. The kitchen had everything we needed and more and the furniture was comfortable. Would definitely stay here again.

Amazing!!!!
5/5 stars
This house is gorgeous and even better then the pics listed! The view from both decks is breath taking. Plus the space of two kitchens and living areas is a real dream for our larger group. The private dock and use of the kayaks was enjoyed by many, one of the kids favorite things. We hated to leave, but we will be back. Thank you!!!

Perfect for our family reunion
5/5 stars
This house had the perfect setup for our family reunion with the master on the main for my elderly parents and a living space and kitchen downstairs for the rest of us. There was plenty of space for all 13 is us (and 2 small dogs). The house felt very clean. You can't beat the lake view here - it was so peaceful and relaxing. We enjoyed the kayaks every day. The location was great too as crabbing and dune buggying were just a short drive away. The kitchen was well stocked with enough supplies for all of us. The only complaint was the beds were uncomfortable, and beware of getting pood on as you walk out onto the deck as there is a family of birds the congregate above the back sliding door. But these didn't affect how much we enjoyed out vacation in this lovely home.

Vista Point Lake House
4/5 stars
This is a very beautiful and comfortable home with an absolutely gorgeous view of the lake. We enjoyed our stay very much. The surrounding neighborhood was a delight for walking the dogs and viewing the fabulous Rhododendrons. I do have some suggestions on how to make the experience even better: 1) all extra bedding should match the beds on the floor for easier use 2) add more silverware of the commonly used items like forks and spoons. We only had 4 spoons in our upstairs kitchen and just a few more downstairs. 3) verify that wine bottle opener, mixer and propane have gas before guests arrive 4) document on the website how the home accommodates 13 people 5) mark the stove top controls for better identification 6) we did find some items that were left behind from prior guests under or behind furniture All of these items are small and I am certain that they will be taken care of because Jim did an awesome job of managing the property. He was very helpful and easy to work with and also very quick to respond to my questions. All of these items happened during a very busy family time, so I was unable to address them with him personally. Thank you Jim for a wonderful vacation home experience

Another perfect vacation at Vista Point Lake house
5/5 stars
This was our second visit to this exquisite property on Siltcoos Lake. The house is stunning and the outdoor patio overlooking the lake provides the perfect place to take in the scenery and visit with family. While we were not expecting great weather, the temperatures were mild and the sun came out every day. Perfect weather to enjoy the lake and the home. The beds were all comfortable, the kitchen was well stocked, the bathrooms were spacious and the living spaces accommodated our party of four beautifully. The property management was wonderful and very responsive to work with. We are already planning our next visit. This home is a treasure!

Wonderful place!

The house and location were even more beautiful than the photos indicated. We enjoyed kayaking around the lake and then curling up with the family around the couches. The house was clean and there really were two full kitchens. And Jim was great to work with.

This house is FANTASTIC! Don’t tell anyone!
5/5 stars
This awesome house has so many five-star reviews for good reason—it’s WONDERFUL—and part of me is hesitant to write another review, because I don't want anyone else to know how great this property is! The house itself is immaculate--even though it's VERY popular, and they allow pets, you'd never ever know a single animal had ever been there—the house is sparkly clean. The layout is perfect--it would be easy to have two families there and have ample space for everyone, complete with two laundry rooms and two kitchens--our family of five felt like royalty staying there with all that space. Not only is the house super dreamy, the lake itself is GORGEOUS. Watching the sunrises off the back deck in the morning while sipping my coffee was so peaceful and serene; the kids had a blast fishing off the private dock. There's even a family of deer that stops by out front during the day. It's on a secluded lake, but it's really easy to get to town, the beach, the dunes, and the local attractions. And you can’t forget about Jim! Jim, the property manager, is an absolute delight. We were so impressed with him and the property, we got home from our weekend there and immediately booked a return visit. Do yourself a favor and escape to this magical house...just please don’t tell anyone! ;)

Absolutely Incredible

The Lake House was very clean, spacious, and the views were beyond belief from sunrise to stormy days. Our family will definitely be returning to this luxurious home. Jim was fantastic to work with. We loved preparing meals in the spacious, well equipped kitchens. We could not have chosen a better place to gather our family. Even the dog Bentley, enjoyed his stay.

Fantastic lake house!
5/5 stars
We really enjoyed our stay at this lake house. The two separate living room and kitchen areas were perfect for our group as we had 2 families and there was plenty of space to spread out. We enjoyed getting out on the lake for some kayaking and fishing off the docks and the kids had a blast sandboarding on the dunes a few miles away. Having a near full moon rise up over the lake each night was the icing on the cake!

Beautiful home in a beautiful location
5/5 stars
Our family REALLY enjoyed our time in this beautiful home. The managers are easy to work with and the home was equipped with everything we needed. The views looking out at the lake are amazing and we really enjoyed being able to bring our dog as well. Thanks for the wonderful stay!

Breathtaking view
5/5 stars
From the second you walk in, the stresses of the world will immediately go away. The house has a very open layout, giving you the ability to (literally) stretch out and relax. From a peaceful morning coffee one of the two decks. To dipping your feet into the lake, this house has got it all. With 2 kitchens and family rooms it give you the ability to separate the noisy (kiddos) to the quiet (adults). My only criticism, would be the comfort of the beds. They all seem to sink in the middle. Overall the house is amazing and I can’t saint to come back.
