Reedsport Oregon:

Incorporated in 1919 near the confluence of three rivers – the Umpqua, the Smith, and the Scholfield, the City of Reedsport is located on the beautiful Oregon Coast on Highways 101 and 38 on the banks of the Umpqua River – the largest river between the Sacramento and the Columbia. Located in the heart of the Oregon Dunes National Recreational Area, Reedsport is in close proximity to over 17 freshwater lakes and is just four miles from Winchester Bay and the Pacific Ocean. Reedsport is the home of the Umpqua Discovery Center a Natural and Cultural Interpretive Center.

Reedsport is an outdoor lover’s paradise. The Umpqua River is home to one of the largest recreational fishing ports on the Oregon Coast. In addition to fishing, citizens, guests, and visitors enjoy hunting, hiking, riding ATVs on the Dunes, beach combing, boating, bike riding, and much more. Just three miles east on Highway 38 is the famous Dean Creek Elk Viewing area currently sustaining hundreds of Oregon's Roosevelt Elk in their natural habitat with viewing stations and photo opportunities.

Thanks for the very clean and comfortable accommodations. The parking was wonderful for our group. We really enjoyed the ability to have 2 kitchens and private spaces for those who wanted to sleep in or needed quiet places for study. The ability to be at the coast for fishing and crabbing in 30 minutes was a bonus. We look forward to booking again in the future.

Wonderful River Home
5/5 stars
We have stayed at many rental homes, and this is one of our favorites. Not only is the location wonderful, but the home and property have everything you would want. They have great kitchen supplies, bathroom/towel supplies, storage/hangers and river toys. There is plenty of room outside and inside to hang out. The dogs loved the big backyard and the quiet access road for walks. Easy access to the beach and dunes. This was our second time at this home, and we were happy to see that it is being kept in good shape, and improvements have been made around the property! The new deck is great-- two suggestions: 1) add non-slip surfaces on the ramp to the dock, and 2) either make the connection for the ladder to the dock more secure or leave instructions to remove the ladder when not on the dock. The ladder came off very easily- both when being used, and also just by the wind/tide. We had a wonderful 5 days here- highly recommend.

Perfect!
5/5 stars
This place was perfect for my big family! I was worried the two separate homes would make us feel separated, but having the deck connected the two perfectly. I would love to return in the future. Thank you!

Wonderful Relaxing Riverfront Home
5/5 stars
What a great place to relax and enjoy summer! Our family of 13 people had lots of room to be socially distant and yet be together on this property. The deck was expansive and had plenty of tables and chairs. The location was perfect- the Umpqua river was warm and peaceful in mid August, and we were in it all day either swimming, floating or kayaking. The kids had the best time. 15 minutes to the Elk viewing stop (there were lots of Elk every time we passed it!). 20 minutes to Reedsport groceries and restaurants. 30 minutes to the beach. The doggies loved the fenced backyard. We saw osprey, eagles, turkey vultures, quail, and bats everyday. The manager was easy to communicate with and handled our issues quickly. Highly recommend.

Wonderful family getaway
5/5 stars
We had two families join (half from WA, half from CA) for a week-long stay. This is summer of 2020, and our usual family reunion was canceled due to Covid-19. We ended up co-mingling as we all have been staying safe at home, BUT this place is the perfect set-up to have a socially-distanced vacation since the two households are separate and you could just hang out together outside. There was a nice shaded spot to eat dinner on the deck. Anyway, we were really happy with the fully fenced, spacious grounds, quiet neighborhood and street (I had my 2 & 4 year olds riding their bikes with us on the road), and availability of kayaks and floats to play on the water. Our dogs and kids really loved being able to romp around off-leash safely. The ramp to the dock definitely required some coordination and was a bit treacherous. The ladder to climb up out of the water to the dock required some muscles or a friend to help. The high/low tide difference was impressive! At low tide, the water was calm enough - almost no perceptible current - to play in the water without worry of drifting away. We had a fire on two nights (some wood was left by the previous renter, otherwise bring your own wood, also bring your own marshmallow sticks). It was very warm in late July up by the house and inside in the late afternoons, but it was always cooler by the water and the house cooled off quickly after dinner. The houses were clean, there were ample towels and bedding and comfortable beds. Nice set-up with the bunk beds, my youngest slept in our pack'n play but maybe next time he will use a bunk! Each house has laundry facilities for free (soap for a load or two). There was more than enough seating inside and out for the 10 of us. The kitchens were well-stocked - both had dishwashers! Bring some ice - one of the houses does not have an ice maker or ice cube tray. Also consider bringing some food storage containers (we cooked all week and had lots of leftovers!). It was a really nice getaway! We enjoyed both relaxing at the house and going for trips to the sand dunes, the beach hikes, and we did one day of glorious mountain biking in Bandon at the Whiskey Creek trails. Totally worth the 1hr 20min drive!

great stay on the river
5/5 stars
We had a great stay on the Umpqua River at this location. Jim was super responsive to all of our questions and incredibly helpful. The area is beautiful. We took day trips out to the coast and also used the kayaks at the house, which was super fun. The home itself is on a 2 mile road that was great for running and dog walking and then there was a small convenience store less than 10 minutes away and then more groceries out in Reedsport. Our dog had the best time of all, as the property is fenced in and she got to run around all day.
