This house is fantastic! It is always extremely clean, well stocked and beautiful. We love the totally open concept top main floor. The widow's walk is spacious, safe and great views of sunrise and sunset. An upper and lower deck is so nice to have. The owners pay close attention to suggestions! With newly renovated bathrooms - it was such a treat. So close to the beach, stores and restaurants! Will be our 4th year next summer!

Great location in South Bethany
5/5 stars
The location for our family vacation with 6 adults and 4 children, ages 7, 5, 2 and 1 was perfect. A 2-minute walk to the beach made it easy for adults and kids to come and go for naps, lunches and bathroom breaks as needed. There was lots of room with 2 complete floors as well as 2 decks around each floor, one partially screened in, and a rooftop view on a porch on top of the building. My one recommendation would be to remove the carpeting in the eating and living areas. An area rug in the living room would be sufficient and it would make it all feel fresher. We have come to this area for 40 years but have usually stayed at Sea Colony. Now as our family is growing this set up made more sense.

Summer stay at # 6, South Eighth Street, South Bethany Beach, Delaware
5/5 stars
My family (wife, daughter, son-in-law, and two grandkids) spent a week at the rental house described. Three stories, four bedrooms, three full baths, one half-bath. Outside deck on second floor, outside deck on third floor, rooftop deck. All the amenities were available and in fine working order. Good location, a five minutes (or less) walk to a less crowded beach. Easy biking into Bethany Beach itself (bike rentals abound). Owner/manager was accessible, attentive, responsive. All around a good time. Highly recommended.

Home was in great condition! Kitchen well stocked, loved the deck and screen porxh on a rainy day, plenty of parking, storage for bikes in basement. A very short walk to the beach. Everything we had hoped for!

7 Days of Fun in the Sun
4/5 stars
Our time in South Bethany Beach was spectacular. Our beach rental allowed for sunlight to pour in the common areas which enabled us to feel like we were outside all day long. Not to be missed was the rooftop sitting area with extraordinary views over the bay and ocean. We had an incredible firework show on July 4th from the convenience of our home! No driving, no crowds and the fireworks were viewed from multiple sites throughout Bethany from our perch on the crows nest. Beach walk was simple, and our beach uncrowded. The neighborhood was family friendly and the convenience of a walkable gourmet market added to its convenient location. We highly recommend Catch 54 restaurant in Fenwick Island, Shark Cove Marina for a Pontoon boat cruise and Steamers Seafood Market for fresh oysters. Don't forget to bring your beach chairs, umbrellas and games!

Perfect Beach Vacation!
5/5 stars
This house is great! It sleeps 10+ with spacious bedrooms (with really comfy beds!) and 3.5 baths so everyone has plenty of space! I love the living area - the kitchen, dining room and living room are all open and it's a great space for everyone to hang out and still have plenty of room. We loved the balconies - the kids had theirs on the 2nd floor that connected to those bedrooms and the adults enjoyed our morning coffee and afternoon beverages on the 3rd floor deck. The rooftop deck was perfect for watching the fireworks and sunsets. We've stayed at this house several times and enjoy it more and more each time. We also love the outdoor shower to rinse off after the beach and the storage room on the main level where we kept our beach chairs, umbrella, boogie boards, etc. so we didn't track sand into the house. We love this house!

Great stay in Bethany Beach
5/5 stars
The house is pretty much as pictured. It was clean when we arrived, beds are comfortable, and the kitchen nicely equipped. The BBQ works very well. The wi-fi is weak and when we were all working or doing something it got pretty slow. But wi-fi services in Bethany seem to be an issue. But the best by far was the beach. It is a block away and it was wonderful. Jeremy was responsive and clear in his communications with us.

Memorable Vacation had by all!
5/5 stars
The house was well equipped and clean when we arrived. Rooms were spacious and we loved the open kitchen-family room-dining area combined. The outdoor deck was great however due to rain every evening this week the cushions didn't have a chance to dry out so we were able to really use the space. The screened in porch was awesome for eating crabs and playing games. Overall, it was a very special family vacation. Thank you for opening your home. We will definitely plan a return trip!

Mostly good, but some issues
3/5 stars
The house was good, with good layout and well equipped kitchen and convenient to the beach. However, there were only two beach chairs and no umbrella. We are used tp houses being better equipped, so we had to rent both an umbrella and beach chairs. The other more important amd dangerous issue was the malfunctioning propane grill!! We called about replacing/fixing it and it was replaced within 48 hours, but too late for us to use for a birthday party. The free golf was good.
- Pamela

We're sorry that the bbq was not usable. We did act as quickly as possible to have it replaced and we offered additional complimentary activities. The listing does not advertise umbrellas and chairs. Few homes in this area include them. If we can have you back, we'd be happy to offer a discount.

Great location, maintenance lacking
3/5 stars
We realized when we checked in that a cleaning had not been done before our arrival. Mistakes happen. But at the beginning of the summer season you would expect that there would have been a thorough clean in the recent past, especially when you have an exhaust vent over the stovetop which simply sucks steam and cooking oils up into the microwave vent and then blows it all back out into the kitchen. There is a fine build up of cooking oil all over the floor and the kitchen cabinets. The corners of the doors where you open the cabinets were tacky and showing dirt from untold years of use without a thorough clean. Our shoes were sticking to the kitchen floor. There was a glider rocker full of sand and dust all along the bottom frame- no nursing mother would have wanted to sit there before it was cleaned. Wicker furniture is a pain to dust, and you really need a powerful vacuum to do it justice. These are all things that should be on a specific cleaning rotation. However we also found a number of simple maintenance issues. Here’s a list of issues: Window in king bedroom’s bathroom on second floor is really hard to open/close. Multiple spiders, cobwebs, and dead/ living bugs. Futon is broken/damaged. Bolts are missing and wood is split. We fixed it as best we could so we'd feel comfortable sitting on it, but wouldn't trust it as a sleeping option. Bunk room slider door tracks dirty like you wouldn’t believe. So is the vent next to it (I think the ventilation system in this house need to be cleaned, FYI). The threshold plate to the slider door to the deck in the living room is not fastened and is a trip hazard. The towel hook on the back of the door for en suite 2nd floor bathroom has come off. The fan in the bunk room had loose blades and one of the screws holding the blade had fallen out. We had a screw driver and fixed that ourselves. One of the chairs in the dining area has a broken stile in the back. The grill’s ignition battery was dead, and we were fortunate enough to have a AA battery to replace it. The grill is in need of a thorough cleaning. Other reviews mentioned that the hot water was an issue if doing washing and showering but after seeing the tiny size of this electric water heater we understood why by the 3rd consecutive, not simultaneous, shower we were running out of hot water. So to the positives, it is a lovely location, with close beach access. The home is pleasantly decorated and has lots of space, great layout, especially once including all of the cute decks and porches. It's great to have a screened-in section for bug free outdoor eating. The kitchen has tons of plates, glasses, and utensils for any kind of food prep (minus an ice cream scoop), both indoor and outdoor safe tableware. If what you are into is beach access, then this is a great set-up for large families.
- Hans & Marie Raven

We very much regret that you had a poor experience. The home has a long and excellent record of happy customers and we are disappointed that you aren't one of them. The home was professionally cleaned prior to your arrival and is kept in excellent condition. We have noted all your concerns and we're sorry that you did not give us the opportunity to make things right with you. If you should like to return one day, we will be happy to give you a preferred rate. As a courtesy, we are refunding your cleaning fee.

Very nice
4/5 stars
Very nice house. Well decorated and comfortable. Kitchen well stocked - almost too much, as there was no room in the cupboards for the groceries. Close to beach access/beach chairs available/nice outdoor shower. Very large and well furnished outdoor spaces. Our only complaint would be the carpeting on the stairs coming into the house - very musty smelling and stained. Would rent again.

Comfy, Clean, Convenient
5/5 stars
Just got back from a family reunion in South Bethany. The house was clean and well equipped. The layout with two master bedrooms, two tv sitting areas, a powder room, outdoor shower, and several decks made it very livable for the adults and teens sharing the space. Loved doing early morning yoga on the crow’s nest upper deck! It is a short walking distance to the beach entrance, Grottos Pizzeria, McCabes deli and the bayside. The keyless entry system made the comings and goings of all our group easy yet secure. Just note that there are 3 flights of stairs to access the living space. Not ideal for those with ambulatory issues.

Lots of Space
4/5 stars
The house was clean, had lots of deck space and inside areas to hang out with loved ones or have some alone time. Great water pressure in the showers and we almost never ran out of hot water. The outside shower has warm water also, very nice. The screened in porch is big with 2 picnic tables. The couches don't have legs, so they sit super low, this was annoying, especially for our parents who are older and have trouble getting up and down. Due to this, we would probably find another rental next year. Other than that small detail which is a big factor for people we care about, we loved our stay.

A South Bethany Jewel
5/5 stars
This house was comfortable, convenient, and spacious for a family with 6 adults and one child. For a couple nights, two other members of the family joined us, and we still didn't feel crowded. The wraparound porches/decks on two levels add lots of living space and options for sun or shade, and the roof deck is a terrific stargazing venue. The proximity to the beach is an added bonus, and the beach at this S. Bethany location is wide and lovely. The kitchen is especially well equipped with dishes, glasses, cooking utensils, etc. and the central island makes a great prep or conversation area open to the dining and living rooms. Carpeting on the steps is a great noise reducer too! Lots of storage for beach stuff at ground level and outdoor shower and spigot meant we didn't track sand into the house. Generous parking space too. We couldn't have asked for more. Note: Kitchen and living area are on third level, so be prepared for stairs if that could be a problem.

Bethany beach house
5/5 stars
We had a wonderful stay at the Bethany beach house. The house is located on a quiet street with minimal traffic and noise. We especially appreciated it's proximity to the beach/ocean (less than 1 block). The house is fully equipped with all the necessities for a full stay and the rooms are all a good size for large families.

We were a group of 11 & had plenty of room. I agree with the other reviews so I’ll just list my Pros & 1 Con. Pros Storage room for beach chairs/umbrellas is on the ground floor, very convenient. Two HVAC systems. One for each floor. Comfortable beds Kitchen was fully equipped and refrigerator made plenty of ice. Unit has a digital door lock. Worked fine, plus no worry about keys Con There is only one hot water heater so you have to stagger taking showers. For 12 people you really need two. We would stay here again. 4.5 stars

Great week at the beach!
4/5 stars
We found the house very comfortable with a great lay out. Plenty of sleeping room and good configurations of beds to accommodate different visitors. The top floor where the kitchen/living room/deck are was particularly comfortable, and it was nice that this area was separated from most of the sleeping quarters. The large picnic table in the screened in porch was perfect for crabs!
