You've earned a really first class vacation, and what could be more luxurious than an ocean front penthouse with a private hot tub? If you're a sun worshiper, paradise is here, on an 850 square foot open deck. Sunrise, sunset, and all day sunshine can be enjoyed from this large open well furnished space. Relax in your own private hot tub while viewing the endless horizon.

Inside, the spacious, beautifully furnished rooms provide plenty of space for everyone to spread out, relax and enjoy vacation. Every room is extra large with lots of comfortable furniture. The living and dining area is surrounded by sweeping floor to ceiling windows so that you can enjoy the view almost as well indoors as out on the deck. An elaborate combination of window tinting and custom blinds make it easy to control light and heat in the spacious living area.

The kitchen has a ceramic top range and all the appliances and cooking utensils you might need to prepare meals, along with a washer and dryer for laundry. The dining table and breakfast bar provide seating for ten, and there are plenty of dishes and tableware to go around. Broad counter tops have space for extensive food preparation. The dining table has space for everyone, there is a bar and wall mounted flat screen TV in the living room for entertainment.

The master bedroom has a king size bed, its own private balcony, huge closets, and a dressing area separate from the bathroom. There are TVs in all the bedrooms. The second bedroom also has a king size bed, and a sliding door to the balcony and hot tub. The third bedroom has a king size bed. There are two roll away beds to add sleeping arrangements for 2 additional people. All bedrooms have direct access to full bathrooms, with large closets and dressers for plenty of storage. There is, of course, WiFi internet access throughout the condo. There are two parking spaces per unit at Surfmaster.

Garden City is perfect for a family vacation, away from the traffic and crowds, but still a short drive to attractions, and over 100 excellent golf courses. The outstanding Conch Cafe is a short walk. The Garden City Beach pier, restaurants and shops are about a mile south from Surfmaster. The Surfside Beach pier, restaurants, bars and shopping are 1.5 miles north. Just a short drive south is the Murrell's Inlet "Restaurant Row", which boasts the best seafood in South Carolina. Luxury shopping and dining are a few minutes north in the Market Commons area. All the attractions, dining and shopping of Broadway at the Beach, Coastal Grand, and the Myrtle Beach downtown boardwalk are just a bit further north. For a unique cultural experience, Brookgreen Gardens displays one of the world's largest collections of sculpture by American artists in a lush outdoor setting, along with a zoo and butterfly garden. It's just a few minutes south, don't miss it.

In most cases, no.  If you find beach chairs or other beach items in the property, you are welcome to use them.  However, most owners advise that their beach chairs were left on the beach too often.  
Pets are not permitted at many of our properties.  In most cases, HOA rules prohibited guests from bringing pets, even though owners are permitted to.  We have a few properties where we can consider allowing a small dog - NO cats.  The dog must be at least a year old, and weigh less than 30 pounds (two properties are limited to 20 pound dogs).  These are clearly marked "allows pets" and a non-refundable rent surcharge of $200 ($300 for two small dogs) is required.  Please contact us with information about your dog before booking a reservation - at which time we can approve your dog, add the animal surcharge to your reservation and collect said surcharge if you booked the property through a 3rd party affiliate.

 
Cancellation refunds are only made after (and if) the period is re-rented, less a $100 cancellation fee.  If you are concerned about needing to cancel please consider travel insurance; it covers cancellation for a wide range of reasons, along with many additional benefits.  
Our check-in time is 4pm at our office. Approval for a late check in will be granted in EXTREMELY RARE CIRCUMSTANCES. If one is granted, the renter must return to the check-in office the following day before 2pm to complete the check-in process.  This includes the renter showing ID to confirm identity and that he/she meets the minimum age requirement. There will be a $100 charge if this is not completed.
The person renting any property must be 25 or older, have a valid credit card, and be present throughout the rental period.  The renter will be responsible for the actions of and damage caused by everyone in the group.  Any reservation obtained under false pretense will be subject to forfeiture of reservation deposit, damage deposit, and/or balance of rental payment.
WiFi internet access is provided in all of our properties.  Security and connection speed vary widely.  The HOA systems typically do not require a password.  If you have important business or financial matters to transact, consider bringing a mobile WiFi connection device of your own.  Connection speeds may not be fast enough to support streaming movies, music or video games.  
Parking is limited at all oceanfront condominium complexes.  We can only provide the number of parking passes the HOA rules permit.  In most cases, no more than two parking passes can be provided.  We are limited to one parking pass per unit at Horizon East, Afterdeck, and for one and two bedroom units at Waters Edge.  

There aren't any free public parking lots near the beach.  Surfside Beach has some metered parking along Ocean Boulevard and some lots.  

The rental includes the parking passes available, but does not guarantee the availability of parking space.  Parking is managed by the property manager, we have no control over the parking lot or parking space.  
For violation of any of the proceeding rules, tenant and all other occupants will be evicted according to South Carolina law with forfeiture of all monies.  In addition, outside of Airbnb rules and restrictions, all guests agree to the iTrip Vacations Myrtle Beach South Rental Agreement.
  • The reservation must be in the name of someone who is at least 25 years old. This person must also be in the rental the entire length of the stay. Any reservation obtained under false pretense will be subject to forfeiture of all monies paid.

  • PLEASE NOTE: if you are booking on Airbnb: Airbnb puts the Admin Fee, Limited Damage Waiver Fee, Cleaning & Linen Fee all together and calls it the CLEANING FEE. That's why the cleaning fee appears to be high but it is not that high. We hope this helps.
  • We do not rent to house parties and/or groups including, but not limited to, fraternity/sorority, graduation, or spring break.  
  • If evidence of a pet(s) is found in the unit or on the premises and your rental does not include advance permission and pet fee, you will be required to vacate immediately with no refund.
  • Smoking is not allowed in the properties. 
  • Each property's max occupancy is stated in the rental agreement and is located in the property's description.
  • No barbeque grills of any kind are permitted on balconies or inside the unit. No open flames, ie. candles, are permitted on balconies or in the unit.
  • There is no daily maid service. Linens and towels are included and are not to be taken from the unit. Additional cleaning fees will be due in the event that cleaning involves the removal of excessive sand, trash or other unusual conditions.
  • No compensation will be given for temporary outage of electricity, gas, water, cable, or internet service. Outages should be reported immediately and all efforts will be made to have them restored as soon as possible.
  • Tenant agrees to leave the premises and its contents in the same neat and tidy condition as Tenant found the premises to be upon move-in.
  • Tenant agrees to abide by the rules of the HOA applicable to the property. Violations that result in expense, fines or limitation of the rights of the owner will be charged to the Tenant's credit card.
  • Owner or owner's agents may enter the premises under the following circumstances: In case of an emergency; to make any necessary or agreed upon repairs, alterations, or improvements; or to supply necessary or agreed upon services or show the premises to prospective purchasers, renters or contractors. Owner will provide renter with at least 24 hours' notice of owners intent to enter (except in the case of an emergency). Pest control personnel must be admitted (refusal is not permitted).
  • We supply the number of parking hangtags or other credentials permitted by property manager or Home Owners Association rules at each complex.  We cannot control parking, and cannot guarantee the availablity of parking space at any particular time.  This rental includes parking credentials, but not parking space.  Parking at Horizon East, Cape Coddages One and Afterdeck is limited to one vehicle per unit during the summer months.  No boats, jet skis, trailers, golf carts or RVs at any property unless specifically permitted.
  • Furnishings are not to be removed from the premises for use outside or in other properties.
  • Neither iTrip nor the Owner assume any liability for loss, damage or injury to persons or their personal property. Neither does Owner accept any liability for any inconveniences, damage, loss or injury arising from any temporary defects or stoppage in supply of water, gas, cable service, electricity or plumbing, weather conditions, natural disasters, acts of God, or other reasons beyond its control.
  • Tenant hereby acknowledges that the premises they have reserved may include a community pool and the undersigned agrees and acknowledges that the community pool and patio/deck can be dangerous areas, that the deck/patio can be slippery when wet, and that injury may occur to anyone who is not careful. With full knowledge of the above facts and warnings, the undersigned Tenant accepts and assumes all risks involved to Tenant and all of Tenant's guests in or related to the use of the community pool and patio areas.
Surfside Beach City ordinance prohibits dogs on the beach between May 15 and September 15. South Shores HOA will CONSIDER small dogs to accompany tenants between LABOR DAY and MEMORIAL DAY. They are NOT permitted during the peak summer months which are June, July and August. There is a maximum of two(2) dogs considered and each must be under 30lb. There is a $200 charge for the first and $300 for two. You MUST have your pet approved by iTrip Vacations Myrtle Beach South in order for them to stay in any of our properties. Tenant MUST contact us with age, weight and breed via email- at which time we will approve or deny stay request.  If stay is approved the pet fee will be added to your reservation and must be paid before arrival. If stay is denied the pet may NOT enter our property at any time!

The views were amazing from the condo and having the private hot tub was very nice, the facility itself was also nice. The condo, was sadly not up to par, it was very dirty, the walls looked as if they have never been cleaned, the popcorn ceiling was falling, the drywall looked like it was touched up in some rooms and crumbling because it wasn’t done properly. I don’t think they ever heard of dusting, the outside light was hanging by wires. Paying $3200 for a week I expected our place to be at least cleaned, being outdated wouldn’t have been a big issue if the cleaning was done! I’d also recommend stripping all the sheets because ours for sure were not cleaned before we came, the inside ac unit leaked and left a huge puddle of water which we didn’t notice until someone fell in the water. The host put nothing back into the place and it obviously shows.

Re: your additional feedback, we appreciate it and wanted to respond accordingly: 1) the property WAS cleaned (as they all are in between tenants), and we are sorry it was not up to your standards. 2) we wish we had known that you were unhappy while there as we would have gone back to reclean as many times as needed. 3) we are aware that there are some maintenance issues that have occurred during the busy summer season & need to be repaired but can't do so until the off season. Surfmaster Penthouse L is a beautiful & spacious condo with panoramic views of the ocean, beach & the salt-water marsh -- sunrises & sunsets are spectacular from the large wrap-around balcony with private hot tub. The Property Managers & Owners are always responsive & helpful. We so enjoy returning each year for the month of November -- it's our vacation home away from home.

Our week vacation is over now and we had a great time. The penthouse was great just a little problem with bugs on the balcony and a few inside. The view is outstanding from inside and outside. If I come to Myrtle beach again I probably would stay here again. '

Spacious, beautiful view, enjoyable hot tub, well equipped kitchen, Hugh master bedroom with great view. Love the heat / sun blocking, blinds. Kitchen table as big enough play board games. Loved the sofa recliners. Needs: increase to # of towels and make them thicker/ softer. The towels provided were very thread bare and rough especially to sun sensitive skin. Needs: replace the fold out beds or do not offer them as an option. worn out, flimsy. We used them for a 5 and 3 year old but they would have been just as comfortable on the floor. Needs. Please change out the shower curtains, mildew noticed at the bottom. The codes to the pool or beach access provided by the rental company were not usable. Tried several times. We worked around it by just entering the beach on the side public access so it did not bother us to call anyone. We did some what find it disturbing, the first use of the garbage disposal to see cigarette buts bilge up in the opposite sink. Only one time occurrence, we cleaned it up an resumed our family vacation. Did not blame the owners, rental company, or cleaners. Who would expect some nasty cigarette smokier to put their nasty buts down the kitchen sink. Yuck! Overall, would visit again.

Surfmaster Penthouse L is a clean, spacious, luxurious condo on the 7th floor overlooking the beautiful Garden City beach & Atlantic ocean -- we have stayed here for the month of November every year for the past 8 years, and intend to book it again for 2019. The check-in process was efficient, and the condo was ready for our arrival with linens, towels & well-equipped kitchen and other amenities. The wrap around balcony with its own private hot tub is a definite plus, enabling gorgeous views of both sunrises & sunsets. The owners are most helpful & accommodating. Thanks for another wonderful experience -- this has become our home away from home, without the burden of ownership.

The view alone is worth 10 stars. Our most favorite spot to hang out was the balcony on those awesome tall bright yellow chairs. The furnishings were very nice and comfortable for a vacation spot! It fit our family of 8 perfectly with the two roll away beds. The crazy amount of mirrors in the largest bathroom is a bit weird and the fixtures are very outdated. There was a closet filled with beach toys and boards that was not in the description. While it was a nice surprise to have those, many things were broken and it was a mess so we spent a few minutes cleaning it up. The hot tub was great for what little bit we used it. It was just too hot outside when we were there. The pool was excellent for my son whom wasn't a fan of the beach. Spent a little time there every day. The kitchen was a workable size, but quite outdated. This isnt that big of a deal as we were on vacation and werent there for the kitchen cabinets. While there are many pots, pans, utensils, etc. They definitely could use an overhaul as they were all very odd sizes and it was hard to prepare a complete meal without needing to reuse the same pot for something else. Just an FYI - One of the pictures showed a blender on the counter so we brought things to make smoothies. Unfortunately, there was no bottom to the blender. Overall our stay was great! There were however, two HUGE issues we had with the condo. #1 was that the listing is for a SMOKE FREE condo, something we specifically looked for in our search for a vacation rental, since 3 of our family members have asthma. However, when we arrived Saturday afternoon, the entire place absolutely stunk of cigarettes. We immediately called the leasing office with a promise of a return phone call. We called again and still heard nothing until the next day when we were told someone would be out to the condo. It was not until MONDAY afternoon that someone finally came and brought us an air purifier. Unfortunately, it did nothing for the smoke as it was too small of a machine for such a large space. We purchased a candle melt warmer from the local Walmart to at least mask the smell, but unfortunately whomever stayed before us, smoked so much the cigarette smell was soaked into everything. A seriously deep cleaning was needed. #2 was the electric throughout the condo. The wiring and light fixtures throughout the condo are in serious need of updating. The light fixtures in the kitchen and bathrooms were nothing but bare BRIGHT light bulbs against mirrored backgrounds. They were very harsh and just WAY too much. We actually unscrewed many of the bulbs during our stay to minimize the blinding. Many of the outlets didn't work or they were so old and over used that whatever you plugged into it just fell out. Light switches were all over the place, but you couldnt tell what went to what. Some controlled outlets, but we didnt figure that out until a few days later. We mentioned this to the maintenance guy that brought the air purifier. This is a serious thing that should be addressed. If we ever plan a vacation in Myrtle Beach area again, we would definitely consider this condo again, so long as these two issues have been corrected. **This review was written shortly after our vacation in Mid-June, however, today I realized it never posted for some reason. I surely hope those who stayed after us, had a better experience.

The directions to pick up the keys you provide are a little out dated. Its not a left turn off route 544, its a right. The address provided is incorrect. So other than taking a half hour to find it everything was fine. The closet smells badly and the light under microwave is burned out. Z

A bit nervous when I booked due to some of the reviews, but we were very pleased and will stay there again. Checking in and out was easy and the staff was friendly! Yes the condo is a bit dated, but VERY clean upon arrival. We had 6 people there for Christmas and no complaints about space. Patio space, hot tub and views....AMAZING! It was a cold/rainy week and the heat went out, so we followed instructions on reporting the problem. The repair man came and fixed the problem.....until it went out again. Repair man called again and my husband contacted owner. The owner himself came to condo to check on issue. Heat was restored and the last day there was not ruined! Although the weather and heat didn't cooperate, we had a fantastic family week at the beach! Look forward to next visit!

Love the outside patio but the inside is dated

We have stayed in this condo at least six times. We continue to book because we love the penthouse patio and comfortable outside chairs and tables. The master bedroom is fine although the screen on the door needs to be replaced and has been like that all six visits. They brought in new furniture probably from their home that does not help. It seems the new green chairs have cat hair on them. The corner bar they used to have was practical for a vacation rental. Kitchen and second and third bedrooms need updating. All that said, we love the condo location and the outside. Will book again just because of those two things. Thank you Jan and David. Surfmaster L was all that my family of 4 could have asked for. I read previous reviews, and was concerned that we may have some issues with plumbing or appliances. I have to tell you, our stay was flawless. We had the best time each evening sitting in the hot tub and talking. So rare to get time like that with your kids any more. Thus is a place we will stay again. Check in was a snap. Plenty of covered parking. Incredible views. Comfortable beds. I could keep going. I would recommend Penthouse L to anyone.

The condo was very nice and clean and looked exactly like the pictures. The condo stayed cool even during the hot 100 degree weather. The only suggestions I have is that the pans in the kitchen need to be replaced, they are old and damaged and not safe to cook with and we had to purchase a few to cook breakfast. The washer is very loud and probably should also be replaced. The condo could have a few extra bath towels, and some cleaning supplies to clean the kitchen. Getting the keys was simple and the place was easy to find. Overall we enjoyed ourselves and the condo was amazing.

Unit not maintained up to standard. Toilets needed maintenance, sinks wouldn't drain properly, washing machine flooded all week to the point it was not usable (extremely inconvenient) and dishwasher had major issues (would not dispense soap). Deck was great! Unit very outdated. Would not recommend to anyone . I trip staff excellent and did the best they could to help.

Overall, this place was amazing. Exactly as advertised, but some simple improvements would make this a 5 star stay. The good: Bedrooms are a good size. we had the 2 rollaway beds in use and set up in the second bedroom and did not feel too cramped, master was huge. King beds in all 3 bedrooms was very nice. The balcony was amazing. HUGE! Amazing panoramic views of not only the ocean, but the marsh just to the south. Furniture on the balcony was very solid and a wonderful choice. Common living area was large enough to not feel cramped with 5 adults and 2 children. The floor to ceiling windows were great. The movie collection, although not used due to great weather all week, would have been a huge bonus if the weather turned sour. Beach Toys! The closet of beach toys/chairs/etc. was an added bonus for sure, and wish it was advertised, as we wouldn't have brought as much sand toys for our children if we knew we would have this. Super Clean upon arrival. The grounds were great, pools were very nice, as well as the beach access, no true dunes to get over. you are right on the beach. The hot tub on the balcony was a nice extra as well. Could be improved: Would like to see a keyless entry. This would help with check in as well as if you have a larger party that would require more than 2 keys. Would be nice to not have to check in at a location on 17, but have someone call/text with your room code and let you know your room is ready and can head to the unit. Maintenance: The toilet in the 2nd bedroom/hall would not completely flush, and must be a regular problem as there was a plunger handy. The cable was not working in BR3, but was fixed by Thursday of our week after calling on Tuesday. Washer was leaking when a load was run, but was being addressed by the management. Shower head/controls could be updated. Overall, a super clean, big, great location, wonderful rental. The balcony alone is worth it.

My family booked and stayed at the Surfmaster Penthouse L the week of Labor day recently and could not have been more pleased with the accomodations and wonderful relaxing week we had. We went through VRBO and David and Jan were great to deal with. The condo is one of the best we have ever stayed at in our 10+ years vacationing in Garden City and especially at the Surfmaster. From the furnishings to the kitchen, the great movie collection, wonderfully comfortable furniture, great closet of beach toys, and your own private hot tub we didn't need a thing. The very minimal maintenance issues we had were responded to immediately by the people who service the property and resolved them completely. Great place to spend some time recharging the batteries and we plan to be back next year.

On a scale of 1 to 10 we would probably say 5/6. It wasn't bad but it wasn't great either. We feel the pictures look better then the rooms actually look. We had some issues with toilet, dish washer, freezer door staying shut, hot water ran out on us several times, the washing machine sounds like a jet plane coming in for a landing. Good luck finding the place to pick up the keys. It wasn't recognized by onstar, mapquest or I-phone GPS.

Updating? All the kitchen appliances and most of the furniture have been replaced within the last 12-24 months. The toilet flapper valve was replaced promptly. Few apartments have enough hot water for everyone in a group to take a 20 minute shower at the same time of day. Google Maps and Mapquest have our office correctly located. 43 other guests had no problem finding our office the day these people checked in. The opinions of these people contrast sharply with favorable reviews that can be read on VRBO.
