I’m certainly not surprised by your follow through on your previous email threat to write a negative review due to not being provided your requested refund for unused vacation rental days. In reading your review, it’s clear there’s absolutely no basis for this review other than you feeling as though you were owed the opportunity to cancel your peak season reservation at the last minute and move to a future date. When that was not an option and you decided you were ready to depart early, you felt you were owed a refund of unused days. Your complaints had absolutely nothing to do with a negative experience at this lovely property, the amenities provided, or the service that was provided during your stay. Clearly there were no issues of any kind. Your request to “push out your visit” essentially equates to you requesting to cancel your existing peak season reservation at the last minute in order to move the reservation to a future date. Although we recognize that there’s always room for “policy modification”, this particular situation did not warrant such actions. No reasonable adult would have expected to receive special treatment during the peak travel season simply due to their "apprehensions". The fact that we were not receiving other similar guest requests is telling in itself. At that specific time, there was no way of knowing what was going to happen, much less, at what pace things could change. There were no restrictions set, no bans in place, it was business as usual. We were well within our contractual guidelines and moral compass to respond as we did. Fast forward, after your arrival, when you phoned to say you were departing early out of concern for the virus, we were surprised…. particularly when this area was at such a low health risk at that time. There was no mention or request from you regarding “refund” during that conversation. Although we obviously cannot control or foresee the events that changed after your arrival….spring training and parade cancellation, we’re terribly sorry for your disappointment. However, that certainly doesn’t warrant departing early from a vacation with expectations of receiving a refund for unused days. Once you returned home, your tone changed drastically….. you obviously received an email from the website where you made your reservation. I feel as though there was somewhat of a misinterpretation that led to your attempt to justify a refund request. In any event, they do not dictate our cancellation policies. Additionally, you didn’t cancel a reservation. You checked in, stayed and then simply elected to depart prior to your check out date. Refund of unused days is clearly addressed in your rental agreement. Although we remain empathetic and your disappointment is unfortunate, this was simply not a justifiable case for refund. It’s our goal to provide the very best vacation experience possible for our guests. Our stellar reputation and review history speak volumes as to how we conduct our business. We’re just sorry that you allowed this disagreement in policy to over shadow what was likely an otherwise enjoyable stay at a lovely property. Itrip Management
