The Whaler at Ka'anapali Beach - #624
5.0/5 stars
We had a wonderful time staying in Ka'anapali. The condo was very clean and appreciated staying in a corner unit. Easy access to the beach and Whaler's village. We look forward to staying again at the Whaler.

The Whaler at Ka'anapali Beach - #624
5.0/5 stars
My family and I stayed at this Unit (#624) during the week of June 13th, 2017. After planning on staying at one of the neighboring properties in a hotel room we made a last minute decision to cancel our reservation and found this unit to be available. Though it was our first time at this unit, we have stayed at The Whaler for many years. For those of you unaware of this property, it is a no-frills condominium complex most of which privately owned and maintained by their respective owners. There is a very nice updated lobby with complimentary computer access and limited refreshments daily. They have one pool and Jacuzzi just steps from the sand. The property is very well manicured and has a very peaceful serene feel, which I think is perfect for a vacation on Maui. They have underground parking with easy access to the elevators with shopping carts to bring up your groceries/luggage, which is extremely handy. The property is located directly adjacent to the whalers village which has the only convenience store along with various other shops/restaurants to peruse along the entire Ka`anapali Beach. This to me is so nice to have as there is place to go walk around and also if you need any grocery type items it is so close and takes no time to walk there. Other than a gym I believe that’s where the extras stop but I in no means intend to discourage rather just properly inform those to make a solid decision on where to stay in Maui. This place is absolutely perfect for those looking to have a more home like feel with extra space and a kitchen to keep the costs of eating out a little more manageable. The room was extremely updated and very spacious. We had a back corner unit with a wrap around lanai much larger than those you will find at almost any other property I would guess. Had a table with four chairs, a chaise lounge, and even an extra chair and ottoman on the lanai= really nice place to hang out. The room was clean and had updated furniture with a very nice mounted large screen TV. The bedroom was also very spacious with lots of storage and the bed was very very comfortable. Both bathrooms I felt were among the most updated I’ve ever seen at this complex especially the master with dual showerheads. The kitchen was very nice with an oversized granite counter and fully stocked with all the basic needs of cooking, eating, and cleaning. Probably my only negatives would be the appliances specifically the dishwasher and fridge. We were traveling with our eleven month old son and using bottles constantly to feed him thus running the dishwasher with our other cooking dishes. The dishwasher had significant rust on several different locations of the racks, which we noticed flaked off onto our “clean” dishes upon completion of the cycle. The fridge seemed to not be quite cold enough but did get better as the trip went on. Not sure if they turned on just prior to our arrival but our food and drinks just didn’t seem cold enough despite it being set to the coldest setting, the freezer was fine. The microwave and oven worked fine just seemed to be dated, nothing wrong other than the esthetics of outdated looking appliances in an otherwise immaculate condo. Really that would be our only gripes. It came stocked with boogie boards, beach towels, coolers, plastic beverage containers, (2) mask/snorkel/fin sets, beach chairs, umbrellas etc. Plenty of linens and bath towels that were both very nice and of good quality. I would highly recommend this unit to anyone looking for a somewhat upscale feeling one-bedroom unit.
