“Swedish Cottage on Fall River” is a cozy, tiny home and perfect respite for 1-2 people, nestled amongst idyllic Colorado mountains. It is located an easy 1/4 mile from I-70, making this the perfect launchpad for your CO adventures.
This charmer is situated above a detached garage, and overlooks Fall River. Enjoy Colorado's 300+ days of sunshine on the lovely deck with a grill and multiple seating areas. Or, after a full day of relaxing or adventures, soak in the hot tub, lounge next to the gas fire pit, or enjoy a glass of wine in the Adirondack chairs adjacent to the river. The outdoor living areas of this tiny home offer HUGE appeal.
The interior of this cottage has been lovingly designed with simplicity in mind, honoring a reduced ecological footprint and a nod to Swedish style. Common in tiny homes, the toilet is a self-contained and waterless composting unit - there is a simple poster to explain use, but it's super easy! If you need to do a load of laundry while staying here, use the compact all-in-one washer/dryer. Your options for cooking at the home include a gas BBQ grill on the deck, toaster oven, microwave, and a hot plate. (Please note: this cottage does not have a stove/oven.) While the intention of this cottage is to offer a place to unplug and unwind, there is Wi-Fi.
This cottage is located in Idaho Springs, where gold was first discovered in CO in 1859. Downtown retains much of its old, wild west charm, honoring its rich mining heritage with carefully preserved museums and historic sites, including Argo Gold Mine and Mill. Miner Street, lined with fabulous local restaurants / breweries, locally-owned boutiques. This home is located a short 4-minute drive to Miner Street! Idaho Springs is a small town with big personality, including mine tours, rafting trips, zip lining, hiking, Indian Hot Springs, family parks and more…
There is a caretaker who lives on property in the main home. He is an amazing human-being who will respect your space and privacy. You may see him shoveling snow, gardening, or generally taking good care of the 6-acre property.
This home is professionally cleaned using natural, eco-friendly cleaning products between each guest stay.
