"Fir View" is a spacious, mountain home offering panoramic views of iconic, majestic Colorado mountains from the octagonal picture windows. The home is located on a scenic drive that goes to Echo Lake and Mr. Evans Scenic Byway. This is a pretty quiet neighborhood, w/ only 4 houses on the street.
You will love our fully-equipped kitchen! Plenty of space to prepare a meal from simple to gourmet. There is a BBQ grill on the upper deck. And, there are a number of cookbooks in the library downstairs for inspiration.
Relax upstairs in front of the wood-burning fireplace or downstairs in front of the gas fireplace (on a thermostat) - perfect for chilly evenings together. The 55" TV in the downstairs family room includes Netflix for curling up to watch a movie. Enjoy our massage chair, play the piano, or go unplugged w/ available boards games…
Don’t want to be inside? Perfect! There are upper & lower decks, offering optimal outdoor living spaces. Hiking & cycling (road & mountain) – are incredible & easily accessible. Bring your hiking boots & bike(s)! It is a wonderful place to take a walk in the morning or at dusk, when you are most likely to run into our most populous neighbors - the elk, deer, & the occasional red fox. They're beautiful, majestic & look harmless. But it's not advisable to try to pet or feed them.
Charming, historic “downtown” Evergreen is a quick drive from the house. Settled in 1859, it retains much of its old west charm. Dining options are a plenty as well as wonderful & unique shopping, music, galleries, & nightlife.
Just down the road is the picturesque Elk Meadow Park, aptly named b/c if you're there early in the morning or at dusk, you'll likely see elk leisurely grazing. Go for a beautiful hike through the park, or up the mountain to Bergen Peak, a moderately challenging climb.
Evergreen Lake is nearby & offers a day's worth of activities, in any season. In winter, there's skating, ice fishing, & cross-country skiing. If you visit over New Year's, celebrate by roasting marshmallows by firelight, gazing at ice thrones, & watching the falling ice star & fantastic firework display at midnight. In summer, enjoy fishing, sailing, stand-up paddle boarding, canoeing & more... Rent boats, kayaks, or paddle boards at the lake (or paddle boards at Big R). There's also a music festival, w/ free music on Wed. nights.
Depending on when you visit, we've got the Bluegrass Festival, Jazz Festival, Music at Myers Ranch Concerts, Rodeo & Parade held on Fathers' Day weekend, wonderful local theatre, ziplining in Conifer (the longest zipline in CO!)...and NOW - THREE wonderful craft breweries, right in Evergreen - Evergreen Brewery, Lariat Lodge, & El Rancho!
Mount Evans is a short drive away – visible from the house! Hike a 14-er (or drive up North America's highest paved road!), rock climb, ice climb, or just enjoy the alpine beauty.
Red Rocks Amphitheater is 20-mins away down "the canyon road". Besides being a great concert venue, it's gorgeous, & ideal for hiking.

Hi Mary, thanks for staying at Fir View - we hope you have wonderful memories! Thanks for your review. You are correct, Stagecoach is the road behind the home. This time of year, it is nice to open the windows for the breeze and fresh air. With that, it's definitely possible to hear some of the passing cars through the rural area. We have taken care of the rut in the driveway that came with the spring runoff - thanks for letting us know of your concerns. And, as for cell service, it definitely depends on your provider. We use Verizon and turn on Wi-Fi Calling at the home. Thanks again for staying at Fir View and for giving us your feedback, as we strive to make every guest feel like this is Fir View is their home away from home.
