"When I returned my (3) room keys this past Saturday morning. I enclosed several items that were "issues" with this unit. Before I get into these issues - this is the 4th year in a row that I've stayed at the Caribe. This unit was not up to the normal "standards" that we have come to expect with the Caribe property. 1. Check-in was for 4 pm on Saturday the 18th. The unit wasn't ready at 4pm. My family and I had to wait outside in the hallway unit 5:15 pm while the room was "cleaned". Because the cleaning personnel "felt" rushed - my wife had to do additional cleaning once we were in the unit. 2. The refrigerator had a fowl odor (rotten fish / shrimp) on both sides, that never really went away the whole week. Might explain the small box of baking soda on the top shelf. Reported and shown to your maintenance on Sunday 7/19/15. 3. The television in the living room speakers are damaged. Never repaired after reporting it to your company. The maintenance man tried fixing it on Sunday, but couldn't. 4. Ceiling fan in Master bed room had to be repaired on Sunday evening by your maintenance personnel. 5. The shower door in the master bath had been "cracked" by the previous renters and was "duct" taped by the cleaning personnel on Saturday and we were told that it would be repaired during the week. The door was never repaired. 6. The ice maker on the freezer side of the refrigerator doesn't work. Reported to your maintenance man, but was never repaired while we were there. 7. On Saturday - 25th check-out was for 10 a.m. - cleaning personnel was at our door @ 9:45 a.m. looking to clean this unit. Wish they were that prompted the Saturday before. My overall rating to this rental unit would be a 3 out of 5 Stars. Feel free to give me a call if you would like to discuss these issues. Mike Strain 504-259-1803"
Thank you for your recent stay! We are saddened to see the inconvenience you experienced during your stay with us. We strive to meet all of our guest’s needs and expectations. We apologize for the inconvenience you encountered at check-in and getting into your unit. During the high season cleaning can be delayed at times that is the reason we have it for you in your check in instructions. While housekeeping works diligently throughout their day, delays can occur that are beyond their control, typically being that guest do not depart at the appropriate time. The cleaning staff would have been more than willing to return to the unit had we only known. Sorry to hear of the fowl order in the fridge, sometimes foods can be kept in places for days causing the smell that is not so pleasing to the sinuses. I’m sure the baking soda was beneficial that’s the reason for leaving it behind. The TV has since been replaced for the unit. The shower door is on order and will be installed. The ice maker is in working order; thankfully the free standing ice maker was available for your use. I am pleased to hear that maintenance was out to the unit for your requests, however sometimes things cannot be attended to by maintenance staff but require the expertise of someone more qualified in the exact field. Just as in your own home mechanical failures occur but we do make every effort to correct the issues as reported. Departure time is at 10 am, while we asked housekeeping not to disturb you prior to that time I am thankful to know they were there waiting to get their day started. We appreciate your feedback!
